Exploring the Moors

A tortoiseshell she-cat walked peacefully through the moors. The breeze ruffled her pelt, and there were no trees in sight. The cat sighed and laid down peacefully. Even though, she, Sakura, shouldn't be there...

A black and white cat stalked threw the clearing, his short stubby body made it easy for any cat to reconize that he was a pure blooded Windclan cat.The Tom's amber eyes glanced around the clearing for something, it was herbs.The tom swished his tail happly and trotted over to the catmint that were in full bloom, he quickly bit off as many stems as he could before turning around to head back to camp.

The young tom trotted merrily down the moors when suddenly he noticed a tortoiseshell she-cat walking around.The tom had never seen this cat before and because of the strong sent from the catmin, he couldn't smell her eather.The tom droped the herbs from his mouth and quitly stalked over to the loner,"You, what are you doing on Windclan territoy!!" his voice was harsh and cold.

Sakura spun around to face the tom and glared, her one sightless eye and one good eye as cold as ice.

"The moors belong to everyone" Sakura growled angrily, her pelt starting to bristle.

The young tomtilted his head to one side in confusion, why didn't this loner know anything about marking."Look kitty, didn't you smell the sent borders!" he hissed,"Anyone would be able to smell that, even a worthless kittypet!!"

Sakura just growled again.

"So, what then? The only cats allowed here are ones the look and think like you?!" She hissed. Sakura hadn't really been taught boundries of clans, growing up on a whole other country. So naturally, she was just as confused.

The tom mutterd something under his breath before taking a deep breath in,"Starclan help me" he meowed softly,"Ok kitty, I am part of Windclan so...in a way, yes.Only cats like me cane be here"Explained the tom.The black and white cat's eyes glimmerd with confusion, he thought everyone knew about the clans.

Sakura's eyes still held anger. Why couldn't they all just live together, as one? No more fighting, no more forbidden love, everything would be normal! Just because Sakura preferred to not be in a clan, didn't mean she still wouldn't come on the territory. As far as she was concerned, this was all her territory.

"Stop calling me kitty" She spat the word kitty like a bad piece of prey "I have a name"

The Tom grined,"Is that right, kitty? Well if you tell me it ,I might be able to stop calling you kitty"He said making sure to keep an eye on the loner just in case of an attack.

Sakura glared again. She hated that name!

"Why should I clanny?" She growled "Why would I trust you to give you that information?" She noticed the cat was watching her. An idead crept into her mind. She lunged forward, but not enough to reach the tom. She wanted to see if he would flinch.

The Tom quickly unshethed his claws and brisled his fur, he let out a long hiss that sounded dark and deadly.His Amber eyes flashed a dark glance mixed with rage and exitment,"Dose Kitty wana fight?" he taunted.

"Bring it on clanny" Sakura hissed. Her pelt bristled and eyes were afire with anger and hatred. Being half-deaf and half-blind was not only a weakness, but an advantage. She backed up further away from the tom. Her claws unsheathed, ready for any attack.

The Tom cursed himself for being so simpled minded, he had;t really thought The loner would protect herself.The Tome gave a long sigh,"No- I don't want to fight you.Fighting is just something we cats do to make ourself look more powerful, yet in the eyes of Starclan we all will look the same in the end"He meowed softly to himself though loud enough for Sakura to hear.
The Tom sat down and curled in hail around his front paws.

Sakura stared at the tom. Her eyes still angry but more confused. She kept her claws unsheathed though, in case of a surprise attack. She had learned never to be off-guard. And what was this "StarClan" he was talking about?

The Tom let out another lond sigh,"Well- sence youdon't seem to be leaving I gus I better interduse myself" she said flicking his tail in annoyance,"I am Badgerpaw, Medicine Cat Apprintice of Windclan" he said, his eyes growing proud as he said his title.

Sakura nodded, nervously. Should she still remain catious?

"Well Badgerpaw" She mewed "I guess since I do not plan to leave any time soon I shall tell you my name" She paused for a moment.

"My name is Sakura, a loner from far away from here" She mewed.

[badgerpaw]

ABdgerpaw bowed his head in greeting,"It is nice to meet you Sakura, so you really don't know what the 5 clans are?" he asked, his badger like pelt glimmering in the warm spring sun that shone from the sky.

"I know a little" Sakura mewed "Another clan cat, Whiskerpaw, told me. She is from ThunderClan. And Ashfur, a RiverClan tom, talked to me once" Ok, so there was WindClan, ThunderClan and RiverClan so far. How many more were there?

[badgerpaw]

Badgerpawtook a deep breath in as if he was about to tell a long story,"Well there a four clans living; Riverclan-knowen for there sleek fur and swimming-They live by a huge river,Shadowclan-knowen for there sneaking and there flat face- they live in the marsh,Thunderclan-They are knowen for there strong fighting and mix of all different sorts of cats-they live in the forest, and Windclan-we are knowen for there speed and there small bodys-we live mainly in the plains.There is also one more clan, they are Starclan.Starclan is were all the dead cats goto join there familys lost long ago"

Sakura listened, interested. She unsheathed her claws now, begining to trust Badgerpaw.

"So you are a WindClan cat?" She mewed. Badgerpaw did look like a WindClan cat, judging by how he described them. She wondered what clan she would be in. 'No' she told herself in her head 'The clan wouldn't except you anyways, no matter which clan she looked like she could be in'

Badgerpaw smiled proudly,"Yes I am- a full blooded one too!" he purred, Baderpaw flicked his tail innocently "So, think you might wana join a clan?" asked Badgerpaw happily.

Sakura was about to retort that she would never join a clan. But hearing the happiness in Badgerpaw's voice made her change her mind.

"I can't" She mewed turning away "They would never except me."

[badgerpaw]

Badgerpaw jumped to his feet,"Of corse they would!" He said mrrowed,"Just thinkabout it- there have been so many cross clanners, cross breeding, even new comers from Rouges or kittypets" He said making sure not to make any rude comments about the other groups of cats,"I am sure ify ou asked they would accept you!!But I won't pressure you..."

"It's not that I'm a loner" Sakura mewed "It's something else. I am half-blind and half-deaf. No one would ever except me. And besides, I like my life as a loner anyway" She thought of her first friend as a loner, Niche. And what about Midnight? She would never be able to see them again.

Badgerpaw flicked his tail in understandin,"It is fine by me- hey I need some help collecting Sage roots.They only grow near rivers so I though we might as well take a trip down to Riverclan, I am a medicine cat apprintice so I can go almost anywere, you wana come with me?"

Sakura looked at him for a moment. She trusted him, but still...

"Ok" Sakura mewed, slightly catious "Where to?"

"This way!" he called out an ran towerd then fishy sent of the RIverclanners.
