New Life

[shadow=black,left,300]Meer was waking through unknown land, her senses dull for she could only see. Her stomach, shrunken with the lack of food for she couldn't hunt because she was never able to track anything down. Cautiously, Meer lived her life, never went to far in one day, never thought about her old life, and always trying to find her one sister, Desertmist.

Unable to hunt, her clan had to hunt for her. IT became a burden on the clan, and they exiled her. Now miles away, Meer walks along a thorn covered path, blood dripping with every step because she was so numb from hunger, pain wasn't a necessity to think about.

Because of her unwilled senses, Meer was totally unaware of what lie ahead of her, only knowing what she had left behind, that much of it anyway. Her eyes drooped downwards, every now and again she would stop and push a stone around, bt nothing realy caught her interest

Shard's jet black pelt shimmered in the light of day, every part of her body shimmered and sparkled like the rock around her.Though Shard had always been a sort of loner, she sometimes missed here clan life,but she was blind and was apprenticed at the age of 7 moons.Who would really care for a cat with the bad luck of being forgotten by the clan leader.

It had been two moons seance that day and Shard knew that if she wanted to see could always rejoin Thunderclan, but who would really want her back.The sent of another cat filled the air, along with the spine tingling sent of blood.Shard quickly bounded into action , if you had the sent of a cat who was blind you would know how strong the sent of blood could be.It is like boiling vinegar and sour milk together,yet even stronger than that.

The sent the blood blew in Shards face by the leaf bare wind's,but Shard didn't give up.Soon Shard walked into a clearing were the blood was so powerful that it almost made Shard faint.She knew she had come across a bleeding cat.Shard lisened slowly to the breath of the cat, and instantly Shard knew she was new."Who, may I ask, are you" asked Shard asked.[/glow]

Meer felt the rumbling vibrations of someone speaking roll down the cat's throat, and through the Earth up Meer's body. She turned her head towards the source and with her one eye, stared. "Huh?" She asked. The vibrations she felt wern't clear for she hadn't been able to read the cat's lips.

Intently, Meer studied the cat. It was a she cat. Black, slender, and about a moon older than meer. Subconsciously, Meer compared her dark sandy clorored belt the the black one. The clors semed that they were a mixture of the two. Meer shook her head and asked again.

"What did you say?" Her bloody paws began to dry the longer she stood.[/shadow]

[glow=white,2,300]Shard silently thanked the wind for drying up the over powering sent of blood before she begain to talk,"I asked Who you were, we can't be having unknowen cats around here can we" asked Shard again, making sure to pronouns all the words clear and slow.

Shard cared nothing about her looks, though one day, she wished to beable to see what was around her like anyother cat could.[/glow]

[shadow=black,left,300] Meer nodded at the cat. Then she closed her eye to think about how to pronounce her next words right without them sounding distorted. Her head ached and she studied the she cat again.

"My name is Meer." Even after all her thinking, her words sounded very different then they should''ve sounded. Meer felt inferior that one cat couldn't see but could speak fine, and even though she could partialy see, she couldn't barely speak at all.

"I...I am here to find out how...How to hear and smell again...I need to find my sister" Meer's voice cracked as she spoke because she rarely used her voice. The wind ruffled her fur, and Meer was once again reminded of her stomache, no longer hungry, just a dull pain.[/shadow]

[glow=white,2,300]Shard none slowly and knew exactly how this cat would find her hearing and smelling.Though this was a very simple question, SHard wanted to be kind to this cat,In quick movments Shard lisened to the sound of nature, and from there she picked up the sounds of a mouse not more then a few fox tails away.

Now I know this will sound weird to you readers, but I want you to imagion what a world would be like without sight, and then relising that your life wasn't half as bad as the cat...or what ever animal you are... has a worse life then you.This opens up a new passway to your life, and mabye even a new friend ship.

Shard quickly turned to the mouse and pushed her self close to the ground.The ground was cold and was covered with frost, as slowly as Shard could, the black she-cat crawled over to the wouse was finding dead grass for his mates nest.Shard relised that the mouse's mind was somewere eles, he mush have been thanking about his mate nad hims family to be.

Being a cat that was terrably hungry, Shard had not a care in the world to what would happen once the mouse was dead, so she quickend her pase and once she was near enogh she launched herself at the father mouse and killed it in a swift bit to the neak.Shard picked up the mouse and droped it at Meer's feet,"You don't mind sharing, do you?" asked the pretty she-cat clearly as she had done before.[/glow]

[shadow=black,left,300] Quickly, Meer deciphered what the sheer black she- cat was saying and Meer shook her head. "No not at all, in fact, I'm pretty hungry." Yes, I agree with Shard, yes, being without sight and sound can also be a gift. It opens your mind to explore new things, and not to judge what people look like or how they sound. I'm really going blind, and that doesn't bother me.

Meer settled on her haunches, her fur dirty and caked with blood, and her pelt almost white now that it was getting covered with the ever falling snow. "Thank you very much" She said. Meer didn't want to seem greedy, or starved, even though she was, she took bites after Shard did.

"You have... No sight, correct?" Meer didn't want to sound intruding, but with just one quick glance at the cat's upturned eyes that were clouded without sight, Meer could tell that no sight was held within them. Again, Meer took a moment to think about how to move her outh to make it work. "Don't worry, we all have something wrong with us. That's Starclan's way of saying we're all different" Meer spoke the words, but wasn't sure if even she believed them.

Gingerly, Meer lifted a paw to scratch a her empty left eye socket. "Thank you so much, it's nice to know that not all cats hate me. You are very...Generous" Meer's last word sounded more with a country accent, and Meer wasn't sure whether she had understood or not.[/shadow]

[glow=white,2,300]Shard shuttered at the sname Starclan, though they had given her life.They also had betrayed her by making Shadowkit leave when he did and battle to show he was still loyal, then loss her sight,You see Shard once beleaved in Starclan, but after it's betrayle and learning tha the only way to stand up for yourself is by crul force.She relised that Starclan could not be.

Shard licked her paws and rubbed it agents her head, cleaning the blood from her mouth,"Yes I am" she meowed befor starting to clean the pretty brown-she cat,making sure to gentaly lick the blood of in case of a wound.

Startled, Meer jumped a little. No cat had ever tried to help her because they wantd to. "Whudder you doing?" She yowled, her words sounding undistinctivly wrong. Meer didn't understand and thought maybe she had done something to upset the she cat.

"I...I'm sorry" Meer mewed before sitting back down, her pale sand colored pelt bristling in the cold wind the slivered through her pelt like ice fingers. She shivered and tensed her muscles against the cold.

"I'm not sure why you're helping me, but I appreciate it" Then Meer herslef began to pick thorns out of her belly, her pads, and her legs. Small drips of blood rolled around and down her legs before fallig to the ground. Meer turned to the black she cat.

"You got all angry when I said Starclan. I know I have no faith in them because all they hav ever done for me was strike me down and wait for me to get up so they could strike me again. Why does it upset you so?" Meer turned her head to one side, her eye blinking.[/shadow]

[glow=white,2,300]Shard smiled a sweet smile, which she haddn't done for 4 moons,"Starclan...I once belived in them also, but now I know that you controll your own destony.Not some dead cat spirit.Think about, when did Starclan ever help us beside saying that something bad is going to happen, I think we cats are just dreaming the whole think us about Starclan"

Shard walked closer to Meer and started to clean her again,she quickly finished up the job before backing off."There, now I am sure your silk soft fur will look as pretty as it is supost to be."Shard could tell that the cat would be fairly pretty by the way Meer's fur felt and how it coverd her intire body."You must be cold, lets take shelter over by that tree over there"

Shard knew the Loner territoy by heart, and had been all over the territory, making mental marks were and were not to go.[/glow]

[shadow=black,left,300] Instinctivly, Meer hesitated before following the sh cat. "Thank you, I've never paid much attention of how I look, but I like to think about colors and how they blend." Meer again studied the pretty she cat. "You have really nice fur, good for winters, and great comflauge, despite it must stick out in the snow. It's very nice in fact." Meer felt a pang of jealousy, but it left quicker than it came.

As the cat walked away, Meer took mental notes of everything she saw. That's the only way she could figure out how to get to where she was going, by picture memory. By now though, her memonic skills were based on image and touch alone, so there was never any need to remember what the boundries were like and such.

Shard paid not attention to Meer's complement, she only realy was focused on getting to the tree.Once under the tree Shard sat down to consintrate,"The truth is I can see for restricked amounts of time, but only when I am around Skull", Shard said assuming (Sp?) that Meer knew who Skull was.

"I really do love the winter, beside the fact it is cold.This is the one time of year That it is so crisp that my sences almost replace my seeing" Said Shard before she stuck out her tounge to cetch a snowflake.[/glow]

Meer nodded. "I may have been born in the desert, but I hate hot weather and I love the cold" After a few minutes of walking with the black cat, she noticed a tree coming into view.

"Skull...It sounds familiar. What does he look like? I mean, I know you can't see, but you sound close, and you must have your own image by now, just like by ow I can tel you voice has an enchanting medly to it, but is sometimes feeled with pain and anger" Meer felt her tongue tie, so she shortened her words a bit simpler to make it easier on herself. "Is he a friend to you?"

With great care, Meer decided to avoid the thorns that she ahd carelessly stpped on eariler. Meer felt waves of resentment flow over her from hte black she cat when the cat caught the scent of blood. "Could I consider him a friend too?"[/shadow]

[glow=white,2,300]Shard thought for a moment, she had never been asked about skull before.Defentily not as a friend,"I don't know, I have never thought as Skulls as a friend, but yea you could call our relationship like a friend" Shard said then she closed her eyes to imagion what Skull looks like.

"I imagion Skull to have a frosty glare and a huge frame.I always hear his tail rattling so I imagion his tail to be pure bone, and last I always see him as White as snow.I guss because I like snow..I really don't know" Shard said before smiling again at her new friend,"I do hope you can meet him, oh how wonderful he treats me!" SHard said as she compared her life now to the one she had in Thunderclan.[/glow]

[shadow=black,left,300] Thinking intently, Meer tried to get the picture in her head. "How id he lose his skin on his tail? Fire? If so,that would..." Meer's tongue lolled and Meer had to take a breath before continuing. "He would have to amputate his tail, or just rid of the skin. He sounds like a dark tom, but his heart is made of liquid gold" Meer sometiems spoke matphorically, and she didn't really care whether anyone liked it or not.

"I once had a friend...My sister. D-Dsert was her name, or mymomsaid so." Meer's one eye became lost into a distant memory where the were slient moving pictures. "I feel like my lfe should be uphill from here. They used to bite me, not feed me, and if they could, they would scratch me bloddy and leave me in an unknown place...After my mom died. So, I...I left and just went forward." Meer felt really stupid after she said that.

"I have never said that to anyone. I vowed to forget it, I'm sorry..." Shemumbled. She scuffled her paws nervousy then looked into the endless white eyes of the black cat. Here eyes were likea silhouette against her silky sheer black pelt.[/shadow]

Goldenpaw walked silently into the clearing she saw Shard. "Hello Shard" she said cooly.

[shadow=black,left,300] Meer felt vibrations in hte ground as a medium buld she cat walked up. "Whoisthat?" She shudered. Forgetting to think about how to wrok her mouth correctly, she blended all her words.

More by instinct, Meer pushed herslef closer to Shard, unsure of who the cat was, or what she planned to do. "Who...are...you?" She mewed, pausing between each word to sound it out corectly within her mind.[/shadow]

"I am Goldenpaw you have nothing to worry about only Shard does. I hate Shard she is evil she tried to kidnap me."

[glow=white,2,300]Shard smiled "My mommy, lef tme and my brother long ago along with one of my bestfriend.My Brother still lived in Thunderclan, while I went to Skull" Shard sighed sadly as she remembered the accident.

"You see, my friend was named Shadowkit and he always played with me and my brother,till one day he got up and left for the rouges, the whole clan thought the was a freak //like me and you, lolz// so I don't blame him for leaving"Shard took a deep breath before she started again,"Then one day I herd gossip from some other kits that Shadowkit had been killed, then the kits laughed! He deserved it that disloyal fool, said one of the kits.My brother warned me to stay out of in by I got right in there faces, And a battle rose from us three kits.Then Soon apprintices came and helped there younger sibilings untill a slash to the eyes silenced my sigh once and for all"

Shard looked up from her story, her clouded eyes seemed to be pained with pain."After that my whole Life change , but I don't think you want to hear about that" joked Shard, shard's joke wasn't that funny though.You can easily tell Shard was trying to lighten up the atmostphear (Sp?).

Shard's pelt brisled at the smell of Goldenpaw,"What are you doing here!" she hissed[/glow]

Goldenpaw smiled evily. "Hello Shard did you miss me."

[Meerful]

[shadow=black,left,300] Meer looked back and forth, having to turn her head alot more because one of her eyes were gone. "Wait, you tried to kidnap her, or you helped her like you are me, she decided against you, and is using that as acover up story?" Meer yowled. She barely knew the black she cat, but felt the need to stand up for her first friend.

"I don't know who you are, but if you were alomst kidnapped by her, why did you come back to her?" Meer narrowed her eye at the cat. Then she turned to Shard.

"I'm so sorry. I never knew you were from a different clan, and as far as I...I'm concerned, I never even knew ther were many clans." Meer rested her tail on the black cat's shoulder reassuringly, the cold in hte air was already numbing her bones that draped loose hanging skin from lack of nutrition.[/shadow]

[glow=white,2,300]Shard closed her eyes and stared hard at Meer, and then she saw a beautiful colored brown shadow in her black ,black world,Thins had happened to the once she loved most life Skull and her brother."Goldenpaw, why do you come!!" she repeted louder[/glow]

"I didnt come back to her I came to kill her this time." Looking at the cat. "Who are you and why are you with Shard?" she asked.

[glow=white,2,300]Shard got up slowly, making sure to keep an eyes one the brown shadow at all times,"She dosn't have to answer to you!" hissed Shard.Shard haunched down low and bared her silsver fangs,"Leave!!!"

Shard's blind eyes were full of danger and hate,"How dare you even talk to someone with so much disrespect!!"Shard hissed as her hanches rose,"Leave!!" she yowled again, not wanting to fight.[/glow]

[shadow=black,left,300] Meer hissed. "That's not your business!" She unsheathed her claws and prepared to spring at the cat who threatened Shard. "You can't kill her! She's all I have left! IF you kil her, I will kill you!" Meer let her pearly fangs shine in the now rising moon.

"You better think about what you're doing. I'm not weak, I'm not useless like they say, and if I want to, I will rip your very throat out!" Meer's fur bristled along her spine in fury, and she leaped protectivly in front of Shard.[/shadow]

Angelheart walked into the clearing. "Hello Goldenpaw do you need any help. So Shard you found a new recruit for your little group. Should I be scared."
Goldenpaw stared at the ivory colord cat. "Who are you?" she asked.

[shadow=black,left,300] Meer pulled back her spotted lips into a menacing snarl.
"I'm not a little recruit, and yes, you sholud" Meer turned her body towards the vibrations coming in a new direction.[/shadow]

[glow=white,2,300]Shard was surprised when the brown shadow jumped infront of her protectivly, she had never been so surprised in her life.She relly likes me that mush,-she would really give her life up for me-
Thought Shard before smiling.

Shard's orbs seemed to brighten, and even by this kind jester, seemed to break some of the clouded pain in her orbs.Time to think about this readers, think about being hated for pretty much your whole life then suddenly feel loved and friendship.Thats a big step!

Shard closed her orbs and sat down, waiting for the sound of battle to accure, and if blood was spilled....Goldenpaw would feel Shard's claws and Meer's claws in one stingy shot.[/glow]

Goldenpaw walked toward Shard. "Prepare to die Shard" she yowled before launching at her claws outstreached.
Angelheart looked at the golden cat Goldenpaw. "You mean you dont know me?"

[shadow=black,left,300] Suddenly, another body jumped up. Shard had come over to Meer;s side. -I knew I wasn't useless, I can be worth something somdeday- She told herself enouragingly.

"So, this is how it's gonna be? Real REAL brave and courageous of you, go up against two cats who have lost somthing while all your life it's been the cozy free rie. That's pathetic AT LEAST YOU HAVE SOMEWHERE TO GO! I..." Meer paused. "I can't help it if you think she's going to kill you or whatever, but I would trust Shard, with my LiFe!" Meer's smal voice pierced the air that made her swallow her own words.[/shadow]
