Restless Misery

Niche felt wind all around him, trees were swaying, blades of grass were twittering, birds were chirping, flowers were growing. He could feel all of it, but what he couldn't feel, was happines. Misery had overwhelmed him, a new feeling to him. He thought he was in pain when he lost his sisters, now he knew better. Niche closed his eye, and felt the ground. It was cold, hard, covered in soft pine needles, stirred with the steps of prey. It was weird how he never did anythin to keep his min off of things, but now he felt if he thought about her, he'd shatter all over agian.

When heartbreak is near, anyone can feel it...

Hope sniffed the air. The cold wind was unseasonable for newleaf, but reasonable. The last fingers of leafbare were trying to keep the grip they had lost.

It was then she smelled the cat. She could smell the sadness on him like a mouse a fox length away; he was absolutely drenched in it. It left a sour taste in her mouth. What could she do, though? She wasn't even supposed to be out here. She was barely apprentice-aged, with a heather-coloured coat and bright eyes.

Instead of walking up, she sat down nearby. He would talk if he wanted.

Niche had his whole body against te earth now, it was almost as if he was part of it, and everything was a part of him. Then he felt something, and his ear perked up. He was a one person again. No longer connected. Sadness pulled at him, waiting to kill him slowly. Curiousity took over, and he walked a few steps forward. There was another cat. That was new. He wouldn't have been suprised if she had been there, but then again, he would have. Most likely she'd be with her stupid clanner. His dull eye spotted her, and he knew that it wasn't the cat he was looking for. "You alive?" He asked. He idn't know what else to say.

Hope felt her upper lip curl up. "Of course I'm alive," she mewed calmly, forcing it back down. "What's wrong? You sound sad."

[Meerful]

Niche laughed hollowly. "Well. Long story short, I lost someone I loved to a clanner. Actually, no, I lost everyone I loved to the clans." He mewed. Sorrow pretty much melted him and seeped into his bones.

I lost everyone I love to the Clans. Hope felt herself flinch. Why were the Clans so bad? Luckykit had a Clan name, and her father explained it was because he was part of ThunderClan once. He had family there, two sisters. That meant she had two aunts. But she didn't know why he had left.

"I'm...sorry. Which Clan?" she mewed. "Maybe I can help." What are you doing, promising your help to him? a voice hissed in her mind.

[Meerful]

Niche shook his head.
"No, everything will blow over in the end... I hope. My sis left to SHadowclan with my father of which I hate." He murmered.

Hope bowed her head. "It's hard to lose someone to a Clan," she mewed sadly. Thoughts of her brother potentially leaving her panged her heart. Small, weak Luckykit wouldn't leave. He wouldn't. "My...my father, he was part of one once...he left." Well, duh! That's why you're here and Savvanahheart is your mother! That's why you're a rogue! Say something smart, and stop stumbling around like a useless kit!

[Meerful]

Niche nodded, sighed, and looked down at the ground.

"So, um... What are you doing out here?" Niche wasn't genuinly interested, but at least it took his mind off things.

"Just walking around." Hope glanced up at the sky. No clouds today. Probably good hutning in the pines...maybe later. "What about you?"

[Meerful]

Niche shrugged.

"I don't really know" He said, shruging again.

Hope smiled a little. "Can't make up your mind, between moping and being depressed?" she purred, trying to joke around. What was that twinge in her heart?

[Meerful]

Niche grinned. "Spose you just may be right" He replied. Niche stretched out his paws, and opened his mouth in a yawn vefore settlign down on the ground.
