Kodiak was zooming across unkown territory. His paws ached from all his traveling, and dust had made his rich brown pelt an almost ginger tan. The sun was close to setting, but strongly kept up wit the fight between night and day, defiantly shining as the moon battled to envelope the area with it's pool of darkness. Occasionally he shook himself out, the heat making him feel itchy and sweaty.
Looking over, he found what he was looking for, a badger. It was huge! Kodiak couldn't believe the size of the animal that was lumbering around, blissfully unaware of the young cat watching it with big and interested eyes. He, being the only cat of his siblings not deformed, was not watched as closely, well, except when he was fightign with his sister, Ari. Ari was a pain though, she deserved to be beaten to a pulp. Spitting, Kodiak reaffirmed his dislike of the wimpy cat.
The badger's head turned, it's ears flicked, and it looked straight at the place of which Kodiak was hiding. Holding his breath, Kodiak waited excitedly as to what it was going to do. If it attacked him, he couldn't wait. If it didn't, well, he'd go after it of course. Tensing, he waited... Finally the badger slowly turned around and began to eat soft velvet looking blue berries from a nearby bush.
Just as Kodiak was about to spring out of the bushes, another sond caught his attention. In the bracken ahead of him, bracken not unlike the one he was sheltering in at the moment, there was a small rustle, but a rustle large enough not to be prey. Apparently the badger heard it too, and it hobbled it way to the forest, and disappeared in the shadows. Kodiak hissed under hiss breath, ready to slash at whoever ruined his chance at a kill.

Bright yellow eyes peered out of the bushes, watching the cat eye the badger. It was a huge lumbering beast, grey fur, a white stripe covering up most of its face.
Brightfeather snickered, accidently stepping forward and cracking a stick. She tensed automatically and closed her eyes, hoping the cat didn't hear.

Kodiak's fur bristled angrily, and his eyes scanned the area for the animal that had stepped on the twig. His upper lip was curled into a vicious snarl, and a low growl was escaping from him as it built up in his chest. Somebody was going to pay, and they were going to pay big time.
"I know you're out there, now show me where you are or I'll have to find you myself." He hissed furiously, his claws, unsheathed, scored across the ground impatiently as he turned in a circle looking for the other cat. His long, thick brown tail lashed back and forth behind him, and his ears were flattened against his head. He wanted to see the cat, and he wanted to see it now.

She hesitated a fraction of a second then gracefully walked forward parting the bushes as she walked through them.
She stood tall, her light fur glowing in the light the sun bouncing off her fur. " I'm not playing hide and seek," she said quietly her soft yellow eyes studying the angry cat infront of her.

Kodiak snorted."Then why were you in the bushes?" He smiled lightly, sheathing his claws. This cat seemed to unlikely to fight if he attacked her, and he wasn't in the mood to fight a nothing. "So why are you here then?" He said more sternly now, his fur just now smoothing to his skin again.

Brightfeather puffed up her fur and glowered at the cat infront of her, "Just because I look harmless doesn't mean I can't claw your fur off any second!" she hissed, "But if your that quick to judge a cat then i'm pretty sure you'll lose a battle quick."
"I happened to be hunting for my clan...unlike you it seems." She eyed him, "This is Fourtrees any cat can congegate here without being hurt, so don't think about attacking me."

Kodiak smirked. "I my claws are better than my judgement, count on that. Besides, I know how strong a cat can be... Or in your case how weak. Trust me, you'd never survive with us loners. You're clan freaks always depend on eachother for everything, for goodness sake cut the umbilical cord wont you? Me? I live alone. With my family, but we don't get together too much, only when we pass by or whatever. I get too annoyed with my siblings anyways." Kodiak stretched out his claws to admire them, talking half to himself.

Brightfeather turned her head, "I really don't care to know," she said sourly. She sniffed when he mentioned an umbilical cord. She couldn't help but turn up a slight corner of her mouth into a smile one that analagy. She swished her tail back and forth and flexed her own claws, thoughts swirling in her mind. Family a word that she rarely thought of. No family for her, no daughter no mate. Who cares? She once had one, a loving one too...untill the fatefull day he drowned...the worse day of her life.
Sudden tears welled up in her eyes then Kodiaks words flashed before her eyes. Weak How dare he say that? She thought. Anger replased her grief. She whirled on him, snaping her teeth in his direction, golden flames burning in her eyes. "How dare you call me weak, when you havent been through much in your whole life? Stop acting like the big bad cat you claim to be." She stepped towards him menacingly, "I can't beleive you! Trapsing (sp) around here like your kind owns the place!"

Kodiak smiled. "We do. And I am the big bad cat. Experiences don't need to mean anything. Wait, watch me blow you away." He hissed, charging towards her, and then stopping a whiskers length away. He leaned in and whispered, "I have to impress a pretty she cat somehow don't I?"

Brightfeather was not inmpressed. Her eyes were locked on his and she glared at him with distastefull hate, "Back off feather brain." She hissed out between her teeth. "Try that again and you'll find yourself hairless."

Kodiak looked down at his pelt and shrugged. "You sure have a lot of time on your paws if you go around plucking cats for your own sick maniacal pleasure. That's just creepy. Want to settle this now kitty? We'll see who's stronger. I'm a direct descendant of Meer, so I was born strong." He strutted proudly. It didn't seem to faze him that it didn't matter who he came from. "Besides, I dare you to touch me, and then we'll see who leaves without a pelt." His claws unsheathed, and his chocolate yellow eyes stared at her deftly, waiting for her to move.
//I love Kodi, he has mood swings. =)//

Brightfeather shook her head and glowered at him. SHe unsheathed her claws and troted around him, her eyes gleaming mischeviously, "I don't care who you came from. And meer? probably another mindless cat like you," she said, flicking her tail over his nose as she trotted by. "Try me."
