Now that it's all said and done, I can't believe you were the one. To build me up then tear me down, like an old abandoned house.
The blackened night sky was lit up by the millions of tiny, shiny dots called stars. A silver white moon hung up in the sky, surrounded by the stars. Over the forests surrounding Fourtrees, it looked as if it were a perfect picture. But every perfect picture had some sort of flaw...
The gray tom walked toward the four trees, almost as if in a daze. His black paws padded against the ground, and his emerald eyes were distant and far off. His tail dragged in the dust, and he didn't stir at even the loudest crack of the twig.
It was as if Flightfall didn't know where he was headed, or even that he was moving. His eyes seemed so far away, so distant. If you didn't look closely enough, you couldn't tell he was even there. Flightfall just walked in a straight line, his eyes on his paws. Somehow he managed to dodge any obstacles in the way, yet he didn't look up from his paws.
His paws set foot in the clearing, and he padded to the center of it before laying down. He laid his head on his paws, flicking his tail absentmindedly. Flightfall's claws sheathed and unsheathed in a pattern form. His body was there, but his mind was not.
Gingerkit/paw was gone now. He had accepted that, and had managed to get over her. He was young when he'd met her, he was foolish. Now he was a warrior, and knew better then to go outside the warrior code for something as foolish as... love.
What was love anyways? All it was was something that would eventually turn into a world of heartbreak and pain. There was really no point in falling in love. All it did was... hurt. It had hurt too many cats he knew, not just him. Maybe life would just be better without that kind of love...
His mind still in a daze, Flightfall didn't notice the presence of another cat behind him...
What you said when you left, just left me cold and out of breath, I fell too far was in way too deep. Guess I let you get the best of me...
