She sat with her poofy tail twitching behind her, the sharp claws holding down her vole and her green eyes watching the other cats move around the encampent.
This had been her home for so many years, her haven to come back to from a long journey. The other Thunderclan members were used to Knightwarrior leaving for long periods of time and then coming back unexpectedly.
Knightwarrior is considered an elder now, although she felt as young as a brand new warrior. She was kittenless, mother and fatherless, alone. The clan cats trust her, ask for advice and enjoy the stories of different places she has to tell, the camp is forever her home.
She was a beautiful cat with long ears with little tuffts of fur at the points, hair between her snow white paws, a white underside, black fur with randon brown stripes along her back. She was lean but yet strong, wise but still yet learning, old but yet young. She's a traveler, loving the world outside of the clan cats.
Knight bite into her vole tearing off a pice of succulant meat. "The apprentices have done well in bringing in fine meet," she thought, her strong jaw moving as she chewed. She closed her eyes and she ate her dinner, basking in the waning light of the sun.

A young she-cat padded through the gorse tunnel, her ginger splattered black and white fur picking up burrs from the tangled barrier. In her jaws she carried a starling. She was very pretty and well-muscled for a she-cat, as her mother had been. Unlike her mother, Speckledfrost was entitled to a quick temper and unsympathetic personality. Blackpelt had been loving, sweet, and friendly while her daughter was stan-offish, grumpy, and serious. It was odd then that Teardrop, who almost looked exactly like her, should be the exact opposite.
The wind buffeted Speckledfrost's fur. Shivering a bit, the warrior looked for a place to sit and eat the bird she had caught. It wasn't much of an offering, it made more sense to eat the little scrap now when there were better selections on the fresh-kill pile. Spotting Knightwarrior a little ways off, the dappled she-cat went to join her.
Knightwarrior had been one of her mother's friends. The senior she-cat was nice enough, but Speckledfrost had difficulty with anyone that had been close to her mother or father. She was bitter about Blackpelt abandoning her and her siblings, and she detested the fact that the only real warrior blood she had came from RiverClan. Still, she loved her mother's Clan and nothing would ever tear her loyalty from ThunderClan.
Placing her starling near Knightwarrior, Speckledfrost settled onto her belly. She tucked her paws up so her pads wouldn't have to touch te chilly earth. Out of politeness, she nodded respectfully to her company.
"Greetings, Knightwarrior. How is the prey running for you today?" she mewed formally. Her voice was gravelly and her green eyes were locked in a perpetual scowl. Her words may have meant well, but her looks clearl stated that she wasn't going to deal with any nonsense.

[wait...is blackpelt dead or in Riverclan?...I don't remember] Knight watched as Speckledfrost come join her in the middle of her sunlight patch, she was debating whether or not she wanted to share the spare warmth.
The elder had been good friends with Bleackpelt, probably better friends with her than anyone else, and she was quite devastated when she had passed away, joing the other Starclan warriors in a better place, one that Knight might very well soon join.
Knight watched Speckledfrost with astonishing amusement, her eyes merry as she mewed back, "Well, thankyou," she shifted to where her claws in plain sight, she too not taking any nonesense, "Quite with the Pleaseantries Speckeldfrost, I know you don't actually want to know." Her nose twitched as if she were going to sneez.

ooc: Actually, Blackpelt is a loner right now with Pippin, but she's on her way home. But no one knows that except Sunpelt. He's helping Pippin bring Blackpelt back, but I've gotta get Shard to keep posting XD
Speckledfrost's eyes flashed up at the elder. She knew she had a reputation for being cranky, but she didn't recall ever actually appearing rude. It's just the day. Everyone's a little short-tempered today. she reasured herself. She allowed one paw free so she could move her prey closer to herself before mewing in a gravelly, but polite tone.
"Of course I want to know how you are, Knightwarrior. Aren't I allowed to be concerned about my Clanmates? Especially an elder? It's my duty."
She lowered her muzzle to the lifeless body and let her teeth into it's flesh. She tried to keep her eyes on her food, but she couldn't keep her gaze from flickering upward. Speckledfrost knew little about her mother and father, was satisfied knowing so little. But why would Blackpelt leave? Could Knightwarrior or Fernleaf know what would drive her from her kits? She ran her tongue over her whiskers and settled down more comfortably. She tried to shove away the thaughts. She had her littermates and her Clan. She didn't need anything else.
"Do you need anything?" she asked.

"Exactly, its your duty, something that is expected of you....its not want you want to do," replied Knightwarrior. She tore another piece of meat of the vole, "And I'm more than capable of fending for my self, thank you," she growled out.
Since when do I need to be helped out, I'm more than capable of hunting my own food, [/] Knightwarrior stared dejectedly at her food, Am I really that old as to have a warrior ask after my well being, I swear... Knight shook her head and continued eating.
"How fares you, oh Speckledfrost," She meowed.

Speckledfrost twitched her whiskers in surprise. Was she being mocked, or was Knightwarrior serious with the "how fares you" bit? The dappled cat gave her paw a quick lick and rubbed it over her face, giving herslef a chance to compose herself.
"Everything's fine." she mewed. "It could be more exciting. I would love an apprentice." she spoke more to herself. What she really wanted was to be an apprentice again. Those long ago days when Shardpaw was still with them were days of gold.
Speckledfrost's ears angled up suddenly, catching the sound of a cheerful voice. Great. With a exasperated sigh, Speckledfrost turned to see her sister hurrying over.
As usuall, Teardrop's yellow eyes were alight with happiness. As springy as a kit, the black and white warrior approached the two she-cats. Teardrop had every bit of her mother's personality tucked up in her. She may have resembled her sister a little, but they were completely different on the inside.
"Hi, Knightwarrior! How are you today? Isn't it cold! I can't wait for the first snowfall."

Her tail twitched slightly, "An apprentice,eh? I've never really wanted an apprentice. I'm not that great of a teacher. Besides, I don't know how to act around youngsters. I don't have children..." The older she cat trailed off, her thoughts moving to Tigerheart, her beloved.
She shook her head, disengaging the thoughts from her mind before looking Speckledfrost in the eye. Her eyes flickered to Teardrop hurrying towards them as if her tail was on fire.
Knight's eyes were glowing with amusement. "Greetings Teardrop, " she dipped her head in welcome, "I'm fine. How are you Teardrop? Happy as ever I see."

Teardrop purred, kneading the chilly earth with her paws. She seemed to quiver with happiness. Alright, maybe she was a little more excitable than Blackpelt had been, but no one could deny that she was as cheerful as her mother. And she just might have been a little more adventurous, but she hadn't yet done anything as stupid as chasing monsters. Blackpelt still held that victory.
"I'm doing great!" Teardrop mewed. She held up her head and turned her sparkling eyes on her sister. Speckledfrost was glaring at her, as usual. Yet she looked crankier than ever before this time. "Oh . . . erm, hi." The young warrior blinked and her sister's scowl deepened. Glancing at Knightwarrior, Teardrop widened her eyes. "I think I'm in trouble again. What'd I do this time?"
Speckledforst sighed and turned away. It wasn't so much as what Teardrop had done (which was nothing), but it was more of what Speckledfrost hadn't done. Teardrop was always so happy, even after Shardpaw was stolen. Teardrop never seemed to worry about their mother or father. She didn't seem to have anything to worry about! It was almost shocking sometimes that they were littermates. Suddenly wanting the comfort of one of her brothers, the splotched warrior stood up and padded away. She knew Sunpelt would be miserable with her, Snaketail would probably tease her, and Sharkfang would be relatively quiet. At least they wouldn't be bouncy and hyper like Teardrop.
Watching Speckledfrost pad away, Teardrop gaped at her retreating figure in surprise. "Oh . . .," she mewed. "I . . . I don't know what I did."
