The Hunters Return

[Eelstreak]

Minkheart, Bandtail and Winghye entered the warrior's den after a successful hunt. Minkheart and Winghye were still talking about it.

"...and then when that squirrel almost ran over your head! I almost died right there!" Minkheart sniffed. "Can I help it if I'm better at lying low, Winghye?" Winghye shook her head, still cackling over the squirrel.

"OK then, missie, what about when your tail got caught in that bush and you yowled loud enough to scare the prey away from here to StarClan?" Winghye's ears grew hot. "That was a total accident, Minkheart, and you know it!"

"Come on, you two, let's forget it and grab a nap before we have to go do something else," Bandtail mewed gently. Minkheart agreed, flinging herself into her nest and Winghye followed suit, albeit more gracefully. Bandtail settled into her nest, but decided to bathe a bit before taking a nap. She licked her paw and drew it over her face slowly.

The warm sun shone softly over the once frozen lands. Slowly the snow was melting away and the prey was returning; soon enough Leafbare would be over and even more prey would be born. A soft breeze slithered softly through the camp as the sun shone down onto the backs of all the cats. It was a nice enough day for any cat to sunbath and relax. Though most cats did this, some cats just had to much work to do.

"We need to get new thorn bushes around the entrance;with out the thorn bushes the raven is our only protection and that isn't much..."

A Black and white she-cat said to a dusty orange tom who had just asked her what she was doing. The black and white cat and the dusty orange tom quickly grabbed the old thorn bush and started to haul it out. It took almost all morning to complete this job and they still needed new thorn bushes. "I am going to rest up and bit" exclaimed the black and white cat, "come get me when you've found thorn bushes"

Teardrop slowly slipped into the warriors den and was surprised when she found three other cats. Not knowing what to say she just bowed her head in greeting and sat down on one of the pads of moss. "I am guessing you guys had a hard day too" she said trying to break the silence.

Bandtail shrugged. "Not whatcha call hard, just...challenging. These two," she flicked her tail at the sleeping forms of Winghye and Minkheart, "are the noisiest hunters I've ever seen. It's a wonder they received their warrior names!" She sighed. "But they're good kids, really." She looked up at the warrior. "And you, Teardrop, how's your day been going? You look a bit tuckered out."

"Ugh- I've had better"

The she-cat's dark amber eyes stared over at the two other she-cats; it made her happy to see what seemed like family members get along. Only if her and her own sister could get along as well as these friends,sisters-what ever they where. "This Leafbare was one of the worst we've had in moons, it did a whole lot of damage to the thorn bushes and bramble surrounding our camp. If we where attacked- lets just say it wouldn't have gone to well. We had to remove all the brambles and bushes and find new ones..."

Teardrop's black and white pelt shone slightly from the light sinking into the den, Teardrop was a highly respected warrior. She was known for her loyalty to her clan above all else and her strength in battle. She is also known as a she-cat who isn't the friendliest towards toms, yet her determination covers that side of her up. "so; are those two your sisters?" she asked.
