Dreadful Mornings

[Silverlace]

Silverlace opened her eyes while the rays of sun peeked inside the warriors den to greet her. She lazily got up from her plush moss padding bed, and started to stretch. The she-cat the started to exit the warriors to be greeted by the full blast of the sun. Silverlace squinted as her eyes started to adjust to the brightness.

"Ahhh... what a dreadful morning." Silverlace meowed under her breath.

She laid on the ground then started to lick her paws they were getting sore. Silverlace swished her tail in the air and then put her head in between her paws.

Swiftpaw scented the approach of Silverlace, a warrior. She opened her eyes and padded to the fresh-kill pile, sniffing each piece seperately and finally choosing a plump shrew.

She sat down and chewed the shrew slowly, wondering what to do today. She didn't have a mentor, and wouldn't be trained. She wondered idly if Silverlace might be able to train her for the day. Gulping down the last of her meal, she stood up and swiped her tongue around her muzzle.

Swiftpaw's blind eyes narrowed. She was going to ask Silverlace. "Hey!" she called. "Silverlace, are you planning on going out today?"

Her paws itched to be on the move....

"Hey, Silverlace, are you planning on going out today?"

Silveralce jumped at the voice it was Swiftpaw.
"Swiftpaw, why good morning and yes I do plan on going out. It is rather a dreadful and boring morning today." she meowed softly to the apprentice.
"You want to join me?" she asked while flicking her tail side to side.

Walking out of the apprentice's den, Destinedpaw noticed Swiftpaw and Silverlace talking. Maybe if I talk to them, I'll have some friends. Destinedpaw was never any good at making friends, although she had litter mates, they never seemed to want to talk to their sister, which made her feel unwelcome to the clan, just by her family. Walking over to them, she sat down, a little more than a fox length away. Umm..hi... She manged to say, without getting to scared. May I join you? Destinedpaw mewed, hoping they wouldn't reject her. This was one of the first times she had talk-en to the clan.

Silverlace's ears perked up when she heard another voice. She turned around to see the apprentice.

"Umm..hi..., May I join you?"

"Why, Destinedpaw. Hello! Good Morning to you! You wanna join us? Sure, of course." Silverlace said looking at the apprentice with a purr. Maybe, just maybe this wasn't a dreadful morning at all.

Swiftpaw dipped her head to the warrior. "Thanks." Excitement sparked from her pelt. She hadn't been outside camp in ages! Since she didn't have a mentor, there wasn't much of a chance for her to get outside.

She scented another cat coming. Destinedpaw, one of her fellow apprentices. Naturally, she knew this cat would probably not want to make friends with a blind cat.

But instead of ignoring her, Swiftpaw searched the apprentice's mind with her uncanny ability to sense feelings or emotions.

Nervousness pulsed from Destinedpaw as she spoke softly. When Swiftpaw dug deeper, she noticed the apprentice was frightened of her Clanmates. How can that be? she wondered.

"Hello, Destinedpaw," Swiftpaw meowed causally, hiding her eyes so it might be possible the apprentice wouldn't see the cloudiness in them. She wanted to make a good first impression. She hated it when her Clanmates pitied her.

Looking down upon her paws, Destinedpaw shifts from paw to paw hoping they won't dismiss her presence. Although she knows she is probably sending off the sense that she is nervous, frighten to be talking, it scared her more. What should I do...Maybe I should just walk away...or say someones calling me...but that wouldn't be right, cause everyone hates me.. Too deep into her own thoughts, Destined missed half of what Silverlace had said. Just catching the ending. You wanna join us? Sure, of course Destinedpaw looked up, but still remained where she was, maybe it was a joke or something, then she feel like a total fool. Turning to the other voice, Swiftpaw ""Hello, Destinedpaw." She still wasn't sure about the thing, of talking. Hi...thank you... Was all she could say, shaking with fear, she had just lived through. She noticed Swiftpaw looking away, Is it me? I upset someone...Maybe I should leave. The thought of leaving was still crossing her mind, whether she should or shouldn't. Taking a step back, Destinedpaw got ready just in-case something were to blow up in her face.

Silverlace looked blankly at Destinedpaw. "Come on Destinedpaw and you too, Swiftpaw. Lets go! I'm dieing to go out, it's such a boring day today." Silverlace said to the two apprentices. She slowly padded to the entrance of Thunderclan. She flicked motioning for them to come, and let out a meow for Swiftpaw to hear.

Silverlace went outside of the clan and was greeted by the forest. She loved the moist ground on her pads. She looked back to see if the apprentices were following or not.

Swiftpaw felt irritated when Silverlace called out after she'd flicked her tail. There was no need for special help! Since she was close to the ThunderClan warrior, she felt the swish of air tickle her whiskers.

Destinedpaw was hanging behind. Swiftpaw paused and searched her emotions. She felt desperate, frightened, and extremely nervous.
Swiftpaw backed up, with her head still ducked down, and confronted the ThunderClan apprentice.

"We're not foxes, Destinedpaw," Swiftpaw snorted. "We won't bite. We're friends, promise. Now come with us." Swiftpaw knew her temper would fall short if the apprentice declined. Destinedpaw was so weak, meek, and shy it was ridiculous!

[Silverlace]

((It seems like destinedpaw isn't getting on. So umm... I 'll continue if that ok with you?))

All the scents of the forest entered silverlace's nose as she smelled the morning air. She then realized that the apprentices weren't out get. She let out a great sigh, she wanted to stay in the forest. Silverlace slowly padded back to Thunderclan camp. "Aren't you guys coming?" Silverlace said with a tint of angry in her meow, she was getting grouchy.
