/do you think me faithful, do you think me a clown/ /i picked out this shirt, put on this hat, wore all this paint just for you/Rain drizzled onto the black asphalt, each drop splashing against the hard surface and shattering from the impact of its fall. Rivets formed and coursed through the cracks of the old Thunderpath, strengthening its thick scent, sticky and foreign in the small cats nostrils. She sat quietly, her small body hunched against the uncomfortable cold that was settling into her ebony fur. She had her tail wrapped neatly about her paws, unnaturally still as she thought hard about where she was and what her business was there. Her golden eyes were downcast, uncomfortable with her melancholy mind. She was a daredevil, risky and quick with no second glances for anything save her own pleasure. That was the high-spirited kitten, the apprentice that met everything head-on with an overabundance of arrogant bravery. But more and more it was coming to her attention that those characteristics were indeed the kitten's, and the kitten was growing up.
And how fine a way she was doing it, at least in outwardly appearances. No amount of mischief could take away the beauty the small body possessed. The dark, soft fur gently framing her slim structure, petite face brightened by the sparkling, owl-like eyes so full of expression and stories. Each small, dainty paw carefully hid the sharp claws tucked inside. A gracefulness covered the hard muscle in her legs trained to leap and spring, twisting and straining in their countless practiced battle movements. She was almost a warrior, and soon someday would be named as such with honor. Yet, honor was the same thing she questioned now. Sitting there, so forlorn and confused, the hot sparking excitement stinging her belly like static.
The Thunderpath wasn't exactly romantic, was it? Blackpaw observed her surroundings with distracted curiosity. She couldn't remember who's idea it was to come here, except that it had been a good one. The irritating smell of monsters and poisoned smoke masked any other smells left beneath, especially if one took care to hide them further. The rain, though light, would also assist them this time by obscuring tracks. And it was quiet in this part of the forest. No prey came here, so neither would hunters. The only cats would be border patrols, and ThunderClan's had come by ages ago at the first sight of dawn. The sun had barely made its place in the sky now, awaiting a fresh patrol at sunhigh. As for ShadowClan, what would they care about a pair of young cats sitting in the hazel? Blackpaw drew in a shaky breath, closing her eyes and wondering why she was frightened.
Considering where she was now, it wasn't hard to imagine Sleeppaw or Hummingbirdpaw in the same place. No wonder Sleeppaw had been so adamant about leaving, Farsight so obsessed that he would leave his little sister behind for WindClan to be with his mate and unborn family. The adoration flaming in her friend's green eyes when she looked at the tabby warrior, and the belief that hers was reason enough to abandon and betray. They had loved, and proven it. Each had been ready to sacrifice for the other, each had done what was best for, not themselves, but the kits that had been made from their unions. Oh, Sentinel.
She shuddered, lowering her chin to her paws and trying not to gasp. However she had come here, no matter how much she knew now that she might have been wrong, there was no going back. You can't return to the beginning, and now the kitten was being forced to grow up. She had no choice. If she stayed in the apprentice's paws - if she remained selfish and proud - it wouldn't be herself that same to harm.
A crack in the forest made her tense, causing her to lift her head and look into the rain with wide eyes. Her chest heaved with surprise, worry making her dig her claws into the wet soil. The hairs on her back stood on end. She was tempted to call out, but if it was a cat she didn't wish to speak to, how could she explain her being there? That her stupidity had got the better of her again and she was dreaming of catching a monster? Sadly, it was entirely believable, but it would mean an escort back home and a conference with Severedclaw - who couldn't stand her wild antics - and possibly Brownstar.
The small cat drew as quietly as she could make herself into the shadows. And waited. tag Shardeh! muse EEEEEEEEEP!!!!!!! notes SQUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! lyrics Sad Clown by Jars of Clay

A silhouette of rain danced against the early morning sun as it splattered down onto earth. The sun's warm rays were just beginning to touch down upon the forest, making the fallen rain shimmer like diamonds. The soft pounding of rain was mimicked by another noise. The sound of large paws tapping the ground in a rhythmic beat. Like a drum beating against mother earth's forest floor. Two green eyes shone like the rain in the sunlight; while a dark tabby pelt became a simple shadow racing across the forest. It was a creature of the rain, the forest, and the earth. It was Sentinel.
Sentinel stopped to taste the air. The strange sent of the clan cats twisted around him like a rope around his neck. " Blackpaw " . it had been many many moons since the giant tom met the spunky black she-cat. Back then, she was young and troublesome. Yet over the moons of seeing her grow up, Sentinel found her addicting. Every moment of his day was spent thinking about if she cared as much as he cared for her and how he could be better for her. The male let out a shaky breath before staring up at the rain as it fell down upon his tabby coat.
The rain always reminded him of her. For just like the rain, Blackpaw could be annoying, loud, soft, cold, nurturing, and even violent. Truthfully, Sentinel had no idea how he fell in love with her. They were polar opposites, yin and yang. She was spunky and temperamental while he was calm and laid-back. The two were the farthest thing from perfect for one another- yet at the same time Sentinel found himself to be perfectly in love with her.
Mud caked around the tabby's legs from his long journey through Shadowclan. His usual hansom self was covered in mud; rusting his good looks. The long journey left tuffs of fur sticking out of place and left him looking exhausted. Yet excitement still shone in his large grin orbs. For already he could sent the stench of the two-leg's monsters. Soon he would be with his love again.
Sentinel came to a stop at the edge of Thunderpath, panting heavily from running. Yet there she sat; her flawless figure like a beautiful raven. Her amber orbs glowing like the sun. The loner could feel his heart pounding in his chest, shooting hot blood from his ears to his tail-tip. " Blackpaw " the thundering sound of his voice seemed to crack the perfection of the morning sounds. Yet Sentinel didn't seem to notice. For he galloped over to the other side of the path, to met his mate head on.

/we got older and i should have known/ /that i feel colder when i walk alone/With each fall of rain, she could feel another piece of her heart slip off into the darkness of her soul. The unfathomable place where the future was hidden by the past and tainted by blood and lies. She had always been headed here, somehow into this tangled world made up of her own ambition and mistakes. Her very first steps were straight into the embrace of anyone that would hold her, pity the tiny orphan child full of so much life. She had been born to please or be pleased. Energy pulsed into learning and imaginative rage. Her open heart had become wild to fill everything that had been missing for her, and she had flown into her current place with self-pity and wicked selfishness. And now she must pay the price. The awful price, for selfishness must always be in debt to selflessness.
Briefly, she wondered whether she would have come here had her parents lived. Had her father not died in battle defending his own, would his daughter be so inclined to fight the threats as soon as they emerged? Had her mother not given herself up in her labor to escape the pain, would the apprentice also not be so self-seeking? Had her brothers not been born still and cold, would Blackpaw have felt the need to draw others to herself and make them her family? Severedclaw her father, Farsight her brother, Hummingbirdpaw her sister, and Sentinel . . .
"Blackpaw,"
She caught her breath, watching him pleadingly as he made his way through the rain, his pelt slicked down over his strong body. She wanted to be closer to him, pressed against him with her face turned away so he couldn't see her expression. She felt scared and alone, frustrated by how her friends were all separate from her. She couldn't confide in anyone. And if she did, who would be able to stay beside her? When she needed them most, they were gone.
"Hi," she whispered weakly, shifting her gaze so she wouldn't have to look into his confident green eyes. He sprinted toward her, and she stood to meet him, laying her ears back and brushing the top of her head against his shoulder. An irresistible purr broke in her throat, her slim tail lifting as she stood on her toes while she rubbed against him, taking comfort in his presence. If her Clanmates could see her now - not even Hummingbirdpaw would be able to understand. Sometimes, even Blackpaw was confused by how they had been drawn together. A bit of her twisted guiltily wondering if it was just another way for her to demonstrate her rebellious attitude. And the thrill of knowing she had what everyone else had, but hers was all the more special because she wasn't meant too. For him, she might never know what he saw in her, except that perhaps he admired her fierce mind. When all she did now as hate it.
"Did anyone see you?" she mewed, a little too urgently. She pulled away from him, looking up into the tabby face anxiously. tag Shardeh! muse bubbly - in plot mode xD notes ohmigoodnessohmigoodnessohmigoodness!!!! lyrics If My Heart Was a House by Owl City

Sentinal felt hot lighting flash through his spin when the black vixen brush herself against his shoulder; sending a shiver through out his whole being. The cold and exhaustion that had taken control of his body seemed to be melted away by the warm feelings that Blackpaw created inside him. The beau closed his big green orbs and let out a sigh; all his frustrations leaving his body with that single breath. " I love you so much " he tried purring, but his words caught in his throat and he made a tiny squeak instead.
Embarrassment clawed at Sentinal's stomach, making him feel sick. " I-I " the giant tom stuttered. He shook his head, clearing the feeling from his mind. Blackpaw's purr sent another cold-chill through the tom's body; making the tabby forget everything he was worried about. " You're so beautiful " he whispered; his green eyes entranced by the female's gorgeous body.
"Did anyone see you?"
Sentinal felt a little hurt by those words. He journeyed so far to see her, and she was so worried what others thought of her. Yet the tabby didn't care, all he could think about was curling into that soft black pelt of hers and just feeling her body up against his own. " No " he meowed; keeping the hurt out of his voice. The male wrapped his tail around the younger one and breathed in her beautiful sent. " Don't worry, you could always say I was raping you "
Sentinal could care less what others thought of him. He was a tom more in love then he ever been in his life. It was his turn to be happy, to be in love, to have a family. It was his turn to live. Sentinel wrapped his tail around the female to pull her in closer. His green eyes staring into her beautiful amber pools.

Pumpkinpaw ||we'll take control of the world like it's all we have || ||to hold on to and we'll be a dream|| Thunder rolled overhead, blemishing the beautiful blue horizon with angry bruises. Lightning flashed in the distance, not really noticable but still terrifying to those that fixated their glazed eyes on it.
