The sun rose over the not to distant tree tops as the small creatures of the forest started to wake. In the river the fish slowly started swimming closer towards the surface, morning and afternoon was the best time to catch the silvery fish of the river. Small voles slowly came out of hiding, their small noses nudging the ground as they rooted around for anything to eat. The Riverclan camp was peaceful, calm, and over all silent with the small muffled mews of sleeping cats. The willow trees 'branches' slowly waved in the thin breeze as a few smaller clouds passed through the orange sky.
Long claws sunk into the soft dirt of the Riverclan camp. Soft yellow eyes gazed around sleepily as the blue gray she-cat yawned, pearly white teeth glinting in the light. Splashheart turned her head and gave her shoulders a few quick licks before turning towards the camp entrance, no one was really awake, except of course for the dawn patrol. She sighed and slipped out the entrance, padding gently down and away from the camp, then climbing the slight incline as she headed towards the river. She swished her long, faint tabby striped, tail closer to her side as she stopped to sniff at a small hole in the ground. Probably a mouse hole she thought as she gazed at it for an unconcerned moment, then she moved on.
The river seemed to be flowing slowly, as if it too was just waking from a long nights rest. She smiled and padded down to the rivers edge, to 'her' rock, or so she called it. Ever since she was brought to Riverclan she had always loved the large rock that sat in the water, it helped her feel at home and as if she could look over and see what was happening in her home clan, Thunderclan. She shook her head and jumped onto the rock, crouching she lapped at the water before staring into its depth. She could see the small silvery fishes swimming back and forth in the current, their flashy tails reflecting the light back into her eyes.

Dawn was just creeping up in the sky, orange rays of sunlight dappling the thin leaves of the willow trees as they swayed and rustled in the wind. In the canopies, small songbirds trilled gently, ruffling their brown feathers under them and watching the painted leaves cascade sluggishly to the ground where they covered the grass, already turning brown and shriveled from the chill in the air. Back at camp, most cats slept, eyes flitting as they dreamed, legs twitching and churning beside them. It was only normal that Cougarwhisper had fled to the river while the stars still lit the sky, and he could be alone with his thoughts, undisturbed by the constant mewing from sleeping cats. The dawn patrol would be coming soon, but by then the large tom would probably have vanished into the bushes.
The orange 'creamsicle' tabby was perched on the river bank, a spot where the reeds and cat-tails had thinned from the shadows cast over them, and only a few rocks lined the swirling current. Today, the river moved slowly, no whitecaps surfing on top of the waves as they swirled along. The autumn air was chilling on Cougarwhisper's short fur, but it was thick enough that the nip only reached his ears and toes. Once the sun rose further, It would be a swell day to fish, he could already see the small minnows venturing out into the open water to grab a bite to eat before the larger fish came out to get their own breakfast. The silver fish avoided his shadow as it was thrown over the wavering river, swerving around the lines of his silhouette.
For a moment, Cougarwhisper lost himself in the gentle whirring of the water parting against the stepping stones, and the rustleing as the leaves in the trees turned in the breezes. Fluffy catkin fell down on him, laying on his unmoving pelt. Above all this, he could eat a faint noise... a chattering. His golden eyes shot open and suddenly he dropped quietly to the ground, looking feather-light despite his size. His limbs slipped forward, not making a sound on the dry leaves as he floated forward. He could see the vole, very clearly, its chubby body held on its hind-legs and a small clover blossom held between its small paws. It bright black eyes were focused on the seed, but its ears swerved around as it searched for a sound. Cougarwhisper crouched, preparing to leap.
Suddenly, the voles head shot up, and Cougarwhisper followed its gaze. A few fox-lengths away, a silvery-blue warrior was padding down towards the bank, her steps barely audible, but still heard by the prey's keen ears. The vole had scurried off at Cougar's distraction, and the tip of its stubby tail disappeared into the long grass. The tom glared angrily as the figure sat on a large rock that jutted out over the river, and he swarmed fiercely toward the cat until he was close enough to realize who it was. Splashheart. His whiskers twitched thoughtfully as her scent wreathed his senses. He had always had a little bit of a crush on the she-cat, ever since he met her as an apprentice. Calming down, he padded coolly until he stood beside the hard, grey form and spoke.
" Hello Splashheart, I didn't expect to see you out here. What are you doing up so early? Are you leading the dawn patrol or something?" Cougarwhisper flicked his ears curiously, scrunching his nose, perhaps the dawn patrol was meeting here? Well, that would ruin his quiet morning.

(WHOO FOR BEING 10PM AND A HUGE PARAGRAPH! xD))
And yet the fish keep swimming. Swimming swimming swimming, like a never ending song. Blue gray ears flicked forward as a small fish surfaced for a brief second. She pawed helplessly at the small water ripples as the fish darted away. Her tail tip dragged slowly in the water as the day continued on, behind her she heard a small noise, maybe a vole? She didn't care, to many things crossed her mind right now. Why hadn't she gotten an apprentice yet? Where was her sister? Where was the rest of her family? Did she have any friends? What was Cougarwhisper up to? She shook her head and pulled her paw back up onto the rock, not bothering to shake it off she just let the water slowly stream from her fur and off into the river. Pale eyes glinted as the young looking she-cat caught a glimpse of herself in the reflection of the water. She yawned, then gazed at the water. She remembered when she would sit here and completely hate herself, wanting to kill herself and wondering why she couldn't find anyone that liked her. She unsheathed her claws and slashed at the reflection, just as she heard a noise of an approaching animal. She sat up, startled and turned around, Cougarwhisper. She flicked her ears back and glanced away, he must have seen her little attack on her reflection, how embarrassing. "Erm. Hello Cougarwhisper. No, I've never lead a patrol" She looked up and met his eyes, Never lead a patrol, oh how sad.

Cougarwhisper watched the river ripple where Splashheart's paw had swiped a minute before, and he couldn't help but letting out a purr of amusement, it seemed that Splashheart felt the same about herself as Cougarwhisper felt about himself. As he padded up beside the silvery-blue she-cat, he stared down at the orange reflection in the river. Although small waves caused the image to waver, he could she himself there, not particularly musclular, but it was hard to see when he was that size. Huge, and carbon copy of any regular cat, but magnitized...it was...strange. Perhaprs the reason he was usually so gloomy around other cats was because he stuck out horribly, but that was hard to tell. Splashheart's voice broke trhough his day dreaming, and he glanced back over at her, a small smile revealing his rows of bright cream coloured teeth. " Well, I wouldn't feel to bad about that, I've never lead a patrol either, but I don't think i'd enjoy trying to organize the mousebrains around here." He let out a good natured purr, hoping to lighten the mood.

SplashheartAlone like a single splash in the rainI can take the rain off of this empty house...
Splashheart gazed into the water as Cougarwhisper's reflection reflected back at her. He was not particularly muscular, but good looking all the same. His orange tinted pelt seemed to stand out, it must be hard for him to hide. She flicked her gaze to Cougarwhisper's eyes as he spoke, she smiled and purred at his joke. "Why yes I must agree." She flicked her tail to her side and then brushed it over the ground, "But hey, so long as we can handle our own lives then why should we even try to set some other cats, whom might not even like one another. Into a group to patrol the boarders! It is just crazy!" Her voice had raised ever so slightly, then she paused and realized she was glaring into the water, tail lashing. Some of the anger she had held onto for all these moons finally came to the surface.

He watched the anger surface from Splashheart, and grinned slowly. The water's surface shimmered and quivered as though it were shaking in fear at some unknown challenger. " Well, why don't we go on our own patrol then? Perhaps we could do some hunting?" The creamsicle tabby flicked his tail questioningly, and he grinned once again, revealing his rows of milky white fangs. He stretched out one paw, letting it drop down to skim the rivers surface, a light playful touch that caused the water to rippled and skip under his paw pads, droplets splattering back down again, the surface of the water a playland for the moment, until once again the area smoothed out, becoming still and sleek like the pelt of a silvery cat. Cougarwhisper turned to glance at Splashheart, golden eyes shining and dancing like the waves.

Splashheart smiled and looked towards the water as it quivered. Thoughts of adventure and kithood dreams floated to the front of her mind once more. Turning her gaze to Cougarheart she smiled, "Certainly! A patrol and hunt? Just my kind of thing." With a flick of her tail she stood and turned around, her ears perking as she gazed towards the fresh Riverclan hunting grounds. Her claws flexed with anticipation of the future patrol and hunt. What if they came across another cat from another clan? Would she remember her fighting moves from her training? But even more exciting was the upcoming hunt. I wonder what we might catch, a vole, a mouse? A bird, or something more?

"Certainly! A patrol and hunt? Just my kind of thing."
Cougarwhisper purred happily, joyful that Splachheart had accepted his invitation. He stood up slowly, flicking his paw to splatter droplets of water across the surface of the river before he arched his back, feeling the kinks in his muscles unwind. He unsheathed his long creamy claws, curling them into the soft riverside dirt and ripping them through it, leaving ragged gouges in the ground. " Excellent," He meowed, twitching his whiskers in anticipation. " Where should we head off to then?" His golden yellow eyes still held the movement of the river, a gentle torrent that swirled round in the depths of them. He gazed aroudn himself, staring over at the Thunderclan side of the river, then back at the tall willows that stood over him.

Her russian blue colored fur waved gently in a thin breeze that crossed over the river and into the trees. Her bright yellow eyes slid left to right and back again. Where to? Well why couldn't you pick? She swallowed nervously and glanced in his direction before speaking. "Well perhaps the river closest to Four Trees?" She swished her long soft tail to her side, kneading the ground as she did so. "The mice and rabbits like the Four Trees grasses, so the river should have plenty. Plus." She paused and looked into Cougarwhispers eyes. "Maybe we can catch a glimpse of some wandering Thunderclanners." Waving her tail playfully she bounded off down the rivers shoreline towards the gathering spot. Glancing over her shoulder she smiled and nodded her head towards Four Trees. "Sound good or do you have another place in mind?"

Cougarwhisper nodded in agreement to what Splashheart had said. " Sounds good to me," He purred, bounding forward to where Splashheart was. He slowed down when he was adjacent to Splashheart, his paws tapping silenting against the ground as he trotted forward, golden eyes scanning the forest and Thunderclan territory.
