A cream and white colored cat slipped between the reeds near the river. No one was around to see her, jsutthe way she wanted it to be right now. She needed time to think things over. The cat knew she was missing a meeting back at camp, but she couldn't deal with seeing her clan right now. Lately she'd been having dreams, no, nightmares, about her past. About her kits, who were lost to her. About her adopted kit Stonekit, who had been killed when he was a warrior. About her mate Tigerheart, who she missed dearly. She hadn't been able to shake the feeling of sadness away from her. She knew she needed someone to talk to, someone to love her. But she didn't have that. The she-cat came to a stop, and looked out across the river into ThunderClan terriory. The sun was slowly sinking behind her, but she knew she wouldn't go home tonight.

[glow=red,2,300]Doodlepelt was wandering through the forest, just thinking. I wonder whats happening with my sisters. I haven't seen them in ages. Just the thought of his sisters made his eyes threaten tears, he felt his eyes dampen and the first tear of many formed and began to run down his face, its shimmery depths reflecting the forest around him. Why did they have to leave me? He asked himself. I miss them so much. His paws automatically padded their way to the river side, like any Riverclan cat he felt safer near the water. He dipped a paw into the rushing water and the cold water felt good against his fur, soothing. He pulled it out and watched the water droplets collect and return to the river. To thier family. His thoughts were all in line, family....
The lessening of light brought him more to his senses and for the first time he noticed the scent of another cat. He glanced to his side, peering through the reeds that clustered on the riverbed. Anglefur... and she looks as if her thoughts were just about as depressing as his own were. He watched for a few moments, wondering whether to approach before making his way through the reeds and sitting himself at Angelfur's side. He didn't say anything, he wasn't in a talking mood, but he was there, sliently comforting. If she wanted to talk then she could. [/glow]

Angelfur had sensed Doodlepelt had been near before he'd ever noticed her.It was nice, having someone have found her. But she iddn't know what to say, didn't know if she herself, wanted to talk. Angelfur could tell Doodlepelt was in the same mood as her, maybe it would be good to talk? She knew that his family had left him. But they were still alive, right? Her family was dead, and she had no one left. Thinking those thoguths alone made her hurt. But she was used to the hurt, wasn't she? Wasn't she used to being ignored, used to being hurt so much. The answer, of course, is no. Angelfur sighed, she always tried to seem ok, when she really wasn't.
Glancing over at Doodlepelt, Angelfur opened her mouth to speak. "Hey Doodlepelt, how are you?" Stupid question, neither of them were fine.

[glow=red,2,300]Doodlepelt looked at Angelfur in almost astonishment as she asked such a strange question, at least in these circumstances. He had to stop his mouth from spurting out his usual reply, Good thanks, you? He considered what he would answer her, I mean he knew that Angelfur had no family left, they had all died and at least he still had Dragonstar, not that he counted him, much, he would have been a great father, but he had to father the whole clan and hardly had time for his only son. It wasn't Dragonstar's fault, Doodlepelt knew, but it still hurt.
"Not so great really." He replied. "I guess you feel kinda the same." Doodlepelt had never been the best cat to comfort others, although he was genuine the right words didn't seem to come out. But, just maybe the experiences that he and Angelfur had shared, of their families leaving them, would be enough for them to comfort each other. He hoped so, not just for himself, but because he had a natural empathy with other cats and genuinely wanted to help everyone in his clan, and even out of his clan be happy. In this way he took after his father. [/glow]

"I'm not doing so great either" Angelfur replied. She didn't know what else to say. Sighing, she glnaced across the river. Nothing was going on. There was no wind, no clouds. just the stars begining to come out, one by one. The few stars that were out were reflecting on the water. They seemed to shimmer there, as the water rippled on quietly. "It's beautiful" she mumured, almsot to herself.

[glow=red,2,300]Doodlepelt hearing both of her remarks joined Angelfur in wondering at the beauty around them. It was then he realised that the beauty was always there and that he just had to look for it. Nature's beauty never diminished. The stars blinked into existance above, one by one, the sheer multitudes were awe inspiring. It looked like someone had taken a blank canvas and thrown glitter onto it, there didn't seem to be any pattern, but that only made it more beautiful. He looked over at Angelfur. "Anything you want to talk about?.... talking helps sometimes." He meowed quietly, not wanting to ruin the peacefulness of the silence, but still wanting to help. [/glow]

Angelfur continued to look at the stars, though she had heard Doodlepelt's question. She wanted to talk, but about what? They had stuff in common, but they were different too. His family wa alive, her's dead. He still ahd Dragonstar left in the clan, she had no one in the clan. So how could they relate? Angelfur looked at Doodlepelt, sadness in her eyes. She opened and closed her mouth, trying to think of somethign to say. But nothing came to mind. So Angelfur continued to look at Doodlepelt.
ooc;;That last sentence is HORRIBLE.

[glow=red,2,300]Doodlepelt was still staring at the vast multitudes of stars glinting in the heavens, when he noticed that although she had not said anything Angelfur was gazing at him, her sorrow clear in her moonlit eyes. He turned his head and returned the look, her sorrow was reflected in his eyes but there was also reassurance. Doodlepelt's eyes were saying come on you can trust me. He wanted Angelfur to trust him, he was a very trusting cat and felt happier when he knew that the trust was mutual, as he knew trust, in itself, was comforting. Maybe I have to talk first. He thought to himself. But what can I say?
He took a breath and turned his head away from Angelfur. " I... always loved my family, but, somehow they seemed to drift away." He stopped, sighed and moved on. "I know what it feels like to be abandoned by those I love the most." He realised this wasn't exactly true, but he had had those moments when he felt absolutely alone in the world. "Dragonstar tries to be a good father as well as clan leader, but his duties mean he has to look after the whole clan equally, which means I have to get along by myself." He stopped again, realising instead of comforting he was letting out his own worries, his own sorrows. Doodlepelt didn't realise that learning that others also had similar problems could help to comfort, to make your own sorrows less hard to deal with. So he turned his head and looked once again into Angelfur's eyes, waiting for her to speak, as he had spoken. [/glow]

Angelfur listned to Doodlepelt talk about his worries. She didnt' mind that he was telling her these things. It kind of helped her in a way to trust him with her own problems. her own sadness that she always held so close to her heart, just so the clan wouldn't suffer because of her sadness. Angelfur could see that Doodlpelt also had endured pain, jsut by the way he looked at her. It was like he knew exactly how she felt.
Angelfur took in a breath. She felt a nervousness swell in her stomach. She'd never told anyone how she felt about having her family taken from her."I was always close to my family, even Stonekit, who was not my own. I took him in when his mother abandoned him, and we were close from that moment til the moment he was take naway from me brutaly." she began. Angelfur's voice shoke, but she continued on. "But after my kits turned into apprentices was when it all went wrong." Angelfur stopped here, her voice giving way so that she could not talk. So all he did was gaze at Doodlpelt, hoping, wishing, for the pain to go away.

[glow=red,2,300]Doodlepelt returned her stare, matching her pain with his willingness to help, to comfort. He was in a state of suspense, terrible suspense, as he waited to hear what had happened to Angelfur's family. He had realised, long ago, that the pain was never going to leave him, he would have to deal with it every moment of his life. Angelfur would have to realise this and that although the pain would never go away, it did fade and that the memories of the happy times with her family came with it. She could not have one without the other. He had also realised that without his memories his loved ones could be forgotten, and he knew that they should be remembered, he wanted them to be remembered. The question was, should he explain this or let her find out for herself?[/glow]

Angelfur breifly looked at her paws, then across the river before her eyes met with Doodlepelts. "Stonepaw was the more ambitious one, and always seemed closer to me, even though he wasn't my own." she started. "Don't get me wrong, I loved Silverpaw and Goldenpaw, but me and Sonepaw shared such a deeep bond..." Angelfur's voice drifted off, but she shook herself and started again. "Tigerheart, my mate, was very brave. Always wanted to do everything he could for his clan. When our kits were about to be warriors, he was killed in a battle. That broke my family apart. Silverpaw then became Silverpelt, Goldenpaw to Goldentheart, and Stonekit to Stonepelt. But then, Stonepelt decided to go back to the clan he was born in, Shadowclan. It broke my heart, but I knew he would be happier there. We would meet smetimes at night after he left. But then, he was killed in a battle, like his father." Angelfur stopped for a breath, then continued without giving Doodlepelt a chance to speak. "I mourned his death greatly, as well as Tigerhearts. tigerheart visited me in dreams for a few moons after his death, but then the dreams stopped. I felt so alone. My two remaining kits tried to help me, but they couldn't. Then, when they were by themselves near the Thunderclan border, they were attacked and slain." Angelfur stopped there, unable to go on. Her heart felt heavy with grief.

[glow=red,2,300]Doodlepelt felt tears forming in his eyes and a single tear dropped slowly from his eye glistening as it fell to splash against the forest floor. How can she deal with this grief? He thought to himself. She must be very brave. What can I say to comfort her? He thought, panic momentarily showing in his eyes. Then he realised. Nothing can comfort her, no empty words of comfort or gestures of kindness. She has to survive this herself. But I can be here... sometimes all you need is someone to listen to you, someone to be there beside you. So he shifted his body so that his fur was brushing Angelfur's and the warm of her body could be felt on his side. Its OK. This movement said. I'm here. [/glow]

Angelfur watched the single tear of Doodlepelts fall to the ground. She iddn't know what to say. Then, Angelfur felt Doodlepelt's fur brush against her own. It felt nce, no cat had done this since Tigerheart had died Turning her gaze to Doodlepelts, she blinked at him, grateful for his presence.
[ooc;; Now what? xD]

[glow=red,2,300]Doodlepelt smiled at her, a suddenly nervous smile as he became aware that he was sitting next to, touching, a beautiful she-cat. He turned his head away from her, to think, and looked up at the stars, the billions of pinpricks of light soothing and romantic His thoughts added. Why am I thinking about this? He asked himself. I am just comforting a fellow clan-mate.... who happens to be... I can't even think of a good enough word to describe her, stunning maybe? All these thoughts passed in a couple of milliseconds and he returned to looking at Angelfur, her white pelt seeming luminescent in the moonlight. [/glow]

[ooc;This will be fun. =D]
Angelfur also looked up at the stars. Feeling Doodlepelt becoming nervous was making herself nervous. But why? He's just comforting me, she thougth to herself. But yet, there was something about him. Something about how he had looked at her tonight, how he had listened to her. No one had listened to her in a long time. Though she was clan deputy, she had always kept to herself. Maybe all that could change. Leaning over, so drew her tounge over Doodlepelts ear.

[glow=red,2,300]Doodlepelt shivered with pleasure as he felt the warm passage of Angelfur's tongue down his ear. I must be imagining this. He thought to himself. This can't be happening... but it is! A warm feeling was growing in his stomach and swelling to the tips of his pelt. Happiness. He identified it. Or perhaps love?... I dunno, I have nothing to compare it to. He pondered. A purr forced its way through his teeth and his whole body vibrated with the strength of it. [/glow]
