Mingled paw prints

Gingerkit bounded forward tripping over her tail, she was heading toward Thunderclan, she was to small to venturing bu ther sister hollykit was mocking her about how weak she was. Gingerkit squealed at the cold, she ran and ran, to a bush, and curled up in some warm moss, she shivered and licked her ruffled fur.

Flightpaw was walking along his side of the border. He heard a muffled squeal suddenly and turned his head to see a small ginger bundle of fur in the bush.

"Aren't you a little too younng to be wandering around?" He mewed. He realized that it sounded more like an insult but ignored the fact.

"No, at least I look bigger than you" she snapped back, and then walking out of the bush, she kinda sounded mean aobut it but it wasn't really true he was bigger than she was by 6 inches. "Anyway, why don't you go pick on someone your own size" she mewed, and licked her ruffled chest fur.

Wow, Flightpaw thought She's got a good attitude.

"Well, what are you doing here little kit?" He mewed.

"Excuse you. I'm not a 'little' kit" she squeaked, "and anyway none of your bees wax.... um...", she mewed, and stared at him with light emerald green gaze.

Flightpaw couldn't help but utter a short laugh.

"Well" He laughed "Excuse me!" He licked his shoulder in between words and laughs. He noticed the light in the kits green eyes.

'She'll be a fine warrior when she grows up' he thought 'and she's pretty pretty too' Shaking his head to clear his thoughts he mewed "If you tell me what you're doing I'll tell you who I am" Even though he knew the kit probably didn't care, he decided it was worth a shot.

"Well, whoever you are, I'm here to hunt" she meowed, and flicked her tail in annoyance, she thought quietly to herself, 'Mom warned me about tom's I knew something was going to happen like this, he's actually quiet cute, get it together gingerkit, don't make the mistake mommy did', she shook her head, and stared at him, "now you tell me who you are, and I'll tell you who I am" she meowed, and then sat down to licked her puffed out tail.

"I'm Flightpaw" Flightpaw mewed. He looke at the little kit. This was a clear reminder to him about his dad falling in love with a River Clan she-cat.

'Keep your head together Flightpaw! She's a kit and you're an apprentice. She's from River clan and you're from Thunder clan! You're getting a crush on a kit!' "A cute kit" he whispered. Suddenly he realized that he said it out loud he quickly turned away and blushed.

"Did you just say Cute?" gingerkit meowed, she slowly giggled to herself, then shook her head, 'gingerkit Mom told you don't go messing with toms their just bad luck, well mom I hope this one isn't bad luck, like daddy' she thought, and added, "Well flightpaw, Crow- food eater' she coughed the last part with a slight giggle and added, "I'm gingerkit, I'm from Riverclan, my mother is feathertail, she's popular in Thunderclan to, her best friend is streampelt" she meowed, and looked at the grey tom, she laughed, and licked one of her paws.

"Did yo ujust call me a crow-food eater?" He mewed "Well sorry, I cant hear well" Then he coughed "Mouse-brain" and laughed batting Gingerkit playfully over the ear.

"Smelly old Squirrel" she coughed, and laughed out loud.


Gingerkit rolled on the snow covered ground, and giggled, until she got up and waited for him to reply, she smiled at him, and giggled again.

"Old Magpie" he coughed and couldn't help but laugh and roll in teh snow like Gingerkit. Then he started running around kicking snow into the air. Finally he skidded to a halt in front of Gingerkit and mewed" Think fast!" before playfully flinging snow at her.

Gingerkit smiled and felt the light cold snow hit her pelt, she ran infront of him, "Stupid fur-ball" she meowed, and walked around him in a seductive way, she moved her tail up on his nose and whispered in his ear, "Catch me if you can" she meowed and dashed off, and running in circles, diving into the cold snow.

"Oh I will!" Flightpaw mewed as he dashed off after Gingerkit. He was almost there and.... "WHOA!" he yowled as he tripped on a small rock and landed on the ground with a thud.

"I'm ok!" he mewed getting back up.

"Ha, ha" she laughed out loud rolling with thunders of laughter, she through up snow and batted them with her ginger colored paw, "Oh it's good to find someone to play with" she purred, and got up, "Come' on I know you can run faster than that?" she teased.

"OK" Flightpaw mewed dashing strait at Gingerkit, trying to gently pin her down. Laughing and playing, he was having a blast. 'What if the clan finds out?' whispered a voice in his head. He ignored it and continued to try and pin down Gingerkit.

" okay you got me, but next time i'll get you" she mewed wriggling out of his paws, "Well flightpaw, what are we going to do now" she meowed, "Wait before you answer, I think I smell, Riverclan, and Thunderclan, patrol" she turned her head and smiled, "can we meet again?" she meowed.

[flightpaw]

Flightpaw tasted the air. Gingerkit was right, there was a patrol.

"Of course we can" he mewed "Meet me here tomorrow if you can" and with that, Flightpaw left waving his tail to say good- bye.
