Silence is Golden

Silentkit sat down by the ShadowClan border. Sunlight shined down on her gray and silver pelt. Not a cloud was in the sky, and everywhere birdsong seemed to fill the air. That was the exact opposite how Silentkit felt.

The mute kit was miserable. She couldn't say a word, no matter how hard she tried. She hadn't said a word in her entire life, and probably never would...

They say silence is golden...Silentkit thought to herself.

Earthkit padded on the fuzzy grass over the thunderclan land. He loved just walking around the thunderclan terra it was so....peaceful. Then he spotted the silvery-gray mass of fur. The young tom trotted up to her his tail held high. " It's nice today." he said to her but knowing that she wouldn't or rather couldn't reply. Earthkit wrapped his tail around his paws.

[Ferny]

From the Riverclan territory a blue/gray she-cat sat, tail curled around her paws and yellow eyes staring ahead. She had no friends, the one she did have passed away. She flatened her ears to her head and looked to the right, and at the ground. Why her? Thoughts of her brother and sister's flooded back, her one Riverclan sister never spoke to her since their fight. She wasn't even sure if she was still alive, she haden't seen her in two moons. Swallowing sadly she looked back up to Silentkit, her pelt ruffling slightly as she stood. She knew the kit couldn't speak, but if the kit tryed hard enough, she would be able to get her point across. Calmly walking over to the kit she nodded, "Hello Silentkit".

Silentkit looked up, startled at the sound of the newcomers. She smiled softly at them both, glad for company. Her pelt fluffed up when a soft breeze blew by. She wanted to say hi to them, just one word. Hi. Why couldn't she do that? Some cats, however, could look into Silentkit's eyes and know what she was trying to say. But no one knew her enough to do that. Her old sibling new how to do it though, and her foster mother. She looked up at both of them.

Too bad Splashheart didn't know a way so that Silentkit could communicate with everyone. Sitting down she nodded at Earthkit and pulled her tail around her paws. Hey yellow eyes looked to the ground then back at Silentkit, then Earthkit. Was it possible for Silentkit to maybe make some kind of movement to show what she was saying? Probebly not, but if it was possible it would certaintly make the kit happier.

Earthkit felt terribly sorry for silentkit. He wanted to hear her voice and know her more. The sivery kit looked so sad without talking how could she tell someone her problems, she just held it all in? He leaned over and licked her shoulder for comfort.

Silentkit looked thankfully at Earthkit, her eyes holding a little more happiness. It seemed that these cats would still be her friend, even without her voice. How desperately she wanted to tell them thank you. However, if they looked in her eyes they could see what she was trying to say. Silentkit felt comforted by the two cats' presense(Sp?).

Earthkit layed down next to silentkit. She was such a nice cat and he wanted with all of starclan's power that she could talk. He could see in her eyes she wanted to talk but just couln't. He couldn't help feeling so sorry for her. But Earthkit knew that he would always be there for her, That he would help her through everything because that's what friends do.

Silentkit laid down as well, and laid her head on her paws. She could only imagine what her voice sounded like. Her silver and white pelt glinted lightly in the sunlight. Her small tail lashed back and forth across the ground. She looked thankfully at Earthkit, then at Splashheart.

Thanks... she thought to herself as she looked at them.
