[glow=white,1,000]A soft pitter and a patter could be heard from RiverClan territory as a handsome siamese tom trekked along the border. His beautiful blue eyes were dull with sadness and his tail trailed behind him. His fur was matted and torn in places and briars obstinately clung to his short pelt. His right leg dragged behind lifelessly, due to the fact there was nothing but a stump at the end to support weight. All the tom could see before him was a beautiful brown face with bright-green eyes. Evermist...Sister, I'm so sorry for betraying you... A cold tear slipped from the corner of his eye and he spat, "Do you call yourself a warrior...?!" Do you call yourself a warrior...NO! Because you had to leave all that you loved behind because your pride and ego got in the way! The tom shut his eyes tight, blocking the physical world from his eyes. Do I really call myself anything?...Because I'm living doesn't mean I have a single purpose in life... A sorrowful sigh escaped his lips as he slumped down next to a willow tree, his eyes faraway and distant as the wind blew through his fur.

Raincloud was hunting near the boarder when she caught the faint saint of another cat. It was no one she knew. She quickened her pace, following the scent. At last she came to the willow tree on the edge of Riverclan territory. Sitting near it was a cat. She assumed it was a rouge since he had no Riverclan scent. She let out a hiss and leaped in front of him. "What are you doing on Riverclan territory?"

[glow=white,1,000]Severedclaw heard a sound--distant...then growing louder as it got near him...It was the sound of a RiverClan cat's paws. Instinctively, though he felt no ferocity, his fur fluffed out. StarClan, he hissed. I just had to tresspass on RiverClan territory...Didn't I?! A gray and white she-cat leapt out in front of him, startling him for an instant. Though he was shocked that it was a she-cat, Severedclaw's face never shifted from it's calm facade. Ignoring the RiverClanner's question, Severedclaw asked a question himself. "And who may you be?" He said unemotionally.[/glow]

[Wolverineclaw]

Raincloud hissed again, her fur fluffing up even more. "You're on Riverclan territory. I ask the questions, who are you?" Raincloud didn't let her emotions show other than anger. But the cat in front of her seemed sad, his body showing signs of days of traveling. Still, he was a trespasser and it was her job to drive him off.

[glow=white,1,000]Severedclaw shrugged his shoulders. "I'm Severedclaw, ex-warrior of ThunderClan...Follower of Meer--now," he hissed. His fur was still flat, unlike Raincloud's. And his ears were pricked and alert, but not strained for any sign of attack. His eyes were still dull, but they were slightly glittering with a small spark of humor. "I answered your question, may my question be answered now?" He taunted.[/glow]

Raincloud held back a hiss at his taunt. "I'm Raincloud, loyal Riverclan warrior." She allowed herself to relax a little. This tom didn't like he would pose a threat.

[glow=white,1,000]Severedclaw nodded, his face drawn. His mysterious eyes traveled to the sunset, the color seeping into his eyes like blood into water. Evermist...Emeraldeye...I know what you would say to me... He looked back at Raincloud, his whiskers twitching with unease. "The sunset is beautiful, isn't it," he whispered. His tail lashed, not mad, but...Regretful. He stared at her yellow eyes. "I should get going now," he murmured. He didn't want to leave...for some reason. But he knew that a RiverClan patrol would be coming soon...And he didn't want to be the one who got in trouble.

"Yes, it is beautiful," Raincloud said, her fur lay flat. "You should be going." There was no anger in her voice now. "A patrol should be along soon."

Severedclaw didn't reply--yet, he didn't leave. "It gets really lonely," he whispered. "Would you come and visit me or let me come around here?" There was no hostility, no remorse...just plain loneliness in his voice. Severedclaw stared at Raincloud, feeling his heart sink.

Raincloud swallowed. If she said yes, she would be breaking the warrior code. But would Starclan be angry with her for visiting a lonely cat that posed no threat? She didn't think they would. "Yes...Where do you live?"

Severedclaw felt his heart lighten up a little bit. "I wander around too much to really 'live' anywhere. But, I mostly stay around the rotten hollow tree." The Hollow Tree was an old tree that had been struck by lightning many years before Evermist and himself had ever laid a paw in the forest. It sat on the edge on the rim of where Fourtrees sat.

"Near Four Trees right?" Her mind drifted to the place, she could remember it from the last time she had been at a gathering. "I'll visit you there sometime."

Severedclaw smiled and nodded. "Yes. It's actually guite close to here..." His voice trailed off and he laughed halfheartedly. "Thank you so much, Raincloud."
