A large cream tom lay by the river, paws dipping out on the edge. His amber eyes stared into the crystal water, small fish darting around, patterned scales glinting as the sunlight lit off them. Some stirred the surface with their sliver-like fins, other flicked their tails as a rock ledge caught their eye, tiny droplets matting his fur. The tom sighed. Alone. As he had always been. Even the chorus of birds seemed to halt as he had settled down on the hot, dry sand. He wished for someone to comfort him, lean on his side, someone that would love him, no matter how he acted, going into anger at the thought of his parents. Kits. Maybe that's what he needed. Kits that had to love him, however much a grump he often was. A rustle caught his ear, and he twisted his neck to gaze into a patch of holly berries a few lengths behind him. Instantly, he was on his paws, dark amber eyes glinting like fire, as he let out a soft mew, " Who's there?"

"Chill out kitty, it's only me"

Nightcloud slowly walked into the clearing, her beautiful green, almond shaped eyes and beautiful golden tabby pelt looked misplaced agents her huge paws and a stub for a tail. Nightcloud's beautiful jungle green eyes stared at the large cream colored tom. He was one of the only cats who was bigger then her yet, for some strange reason, she was offended by it.

Usually Nightcloud loved to boast how she was one of the strongest warriors in all the forest. How she could beat all the cats in the forest if she wanted to, no one would argue with her in fear she might turn agents them. It was one of Nightcloud’s favorite hobbies actually. That and annoying all the nonclanners. There was a particular tom she like to pick on. He was a kitty pet and had a huge crush on her, strangely Nightcloud hated the idea of a kitty pet liking her and completely ignored and or try and kill him.

Cougarwhisper began to letout a angry grumble but stopped himself in time. More then one cat had been offended from his grumbly personality, and he didn't want another one to glance away when he came into sight. He turned his head to glance behind him, smooth muscles rippling beneath his creamy pelt. The sun reflected off the water, painting irregular blotches against his pelt. But the cat he spotted was farther away from the bank, and only the dappling through the tall willows reached her sleek light tabby pelt. He was genuinely surprised, this she-cat was bigger then most she-cats. Of course, this was Nightcloud, and he only usually saw her when he went to sleep in the warrior den.

" Hullo there Nightcloud," He mewed as welcomingly as he could through his gruff tone. " Out to shake a few toms eh?" He let out a chuckle, completely avoiding the idea that she had called him 'kitty' as he fur boiled by it. The scent of the river and moss met him as he gave the air a cautious sniff.

Nightcloud let out a snort of digust "Sounds like fun- but no. I have a much more boring job of fishing" Nightcloud spat harshly. Nightcloud was one of the most bitter cats in the whole clan, yet she was Angeflur's bestfriend and even if you somehow able to beat her. Angelfur would have you skinned before you can even ask for forgivness. [lol, it is to much fun being the friend of a deputy].

Nighcloud knew that Cougarwhisper was a harsh cat like her, and she also knew that he was trying to be nice. Nightcloud found this flattering, yet not flattering enought to make her be nice around a tom. Nightcloud was much more kind around she-cats then toms. She didn't know why, she beleaved that it was because of her father.

Cougarwhisper let out a harsh mew of laughter. He could feel the tension from his muscles bunching under his thick creamy pelt, and turned to stare through the river, its cool depths soothing to his eyes. " Perhaps I could help your job finish quicker? He suggested helpfully. The sleek warrior had nothing else to do except lay on the bank staring out at the endless rippled of the bright liquid as the sun and wind worked together to create a flashing swirl of froth and waves.

He had no friend either, maybe because he always snapped and grumbled when small kits tangled up his long tail, or hissed when apprentices brought him wet bedding. Being one of the largest cats in the clan helped him pass up a anger caused swat in the jaw, but more of his size wasn't from bulk, but from just, well, a larger cat. His amber gaze burned the air as he sent a questioning glance at the odd looking she-cat.

Nightcloud was glad someone wanted to fish with her. She loved company, she was only this harsh because if she wasn't she would have gotten teased when she was younger. So, I guss you cansay it is almost a bad habbit for her. Nightcloud's jungle green eyes soften at the offer, but of corse her additude didn't soften.

"Do what you wish" She said, her voice was softer this time but was still sounded like a hiss then a meow. Nightcloud moved closer to the river. She was horrible at fishing, her huge paws almost made her clumbsy. She cursed under her breath as she tried to catch a fish, but ended up spraying water on her face.
