Ferrakit was afraid. He hated to admit it, but there it was. He was in a new territory; a place he had never dared to go before. Clan territory. More to the point, RiverClan territory. He wondered, would he be accepted among them? For that was why he was here. Ferrakit was searching for something, something kittypet life wasn't giving him. He hoped to find it in RiverClan. That is, if he wasn't thrown out with torn ears. He lifted his head to the wind, seeking a well-used pathway or some such. For a moment he smelled nothing but the wild and he gloried in the scents and sounds. Then he scented another cat. The big, tawny tomcat crouched, pressing his belly to the ground in instinctual fear. Well, he mused wryly, here was his chance to prove the stories true. He'd often heard the stories of the wild, savage, bone-eating Clan cats. As he thought about them now, irrational fear gripped him again. What was he doing here? His mission was madness! Still, he knew, he had to try. He only hoped that he would live to try again elsewhere if this option fell through.

A tabby striped tom padded into the reeds. His pads were cracked and the mud bbetween the vegetation felt pleasent on them. The feline's blurred silver eyes blinked slowly as a scent hit his nostrils. It was kitty-pet. Earthpaw let out a snort before quickening his pace a bit. This would be fun. He had dealed with kitty-pets before and they were as easy to scare as it was by telling a kit about the long dead Tigerstar. The tabby male flicked his splotched gaze up to a sound. It was a muffled scuffling. There was the kitty-pet.
Earthpaw strode out of some dry cat-tails. His pelt was fluffed up agaist the wind but his muscles shown through his pelt even if his ribs also did. Earthpaw looked at the young cat and licked his lips as if hungry. Kitty-pets always fell that stuff. The male strode around the other tom sniffing his scent without showing the other cat. He put on the most menacing face he could imagine and then spoke looking directly at the cat with his milky silver eyes.
"It looks like I've found an early dinner," He mewed.

Ferrakit's hackles rose and his tail fluffed to twice its normal size. He drew back and hissed at the strange cat who wanted to eat him for lunch. Way to make a first impression, the kittypet thought sulkily. He sized up the tom quickly. A bit on the skinny side, but that was solid muscle rippling beneath his pelt. The tom gulped. "I...I've come in peace. I'm telling you, I don't want a fight..." Ferrakit trailed off, hypnotized by the glaring silver eyes. "Please," he whispered, "I need a home."

Earthpaw's growl softened at the kit's words. He needed a home. Earthpaw let out a sigh and then padded with a non-threatening aura to the kit. His silver eyes seemed to be staring off into nowhere but they were pointed in the direction of the loner lands. He would head there. Shard could help him with blindness, she had been that way since Earthpaw could recall knowing about the black she-cat. His lithe body was standing rigid at the thought of trveling all the way through the other clans to the loners. He might get caught. He needed a home...so did this kit.
"You need a home? Come with me. I will get you a home. What's your name?" Earthpaw mewed and lifted his maw to the sky. No cats were around from Riverclan. They were safe for now. Hopefully the dawn patrol wasn't coming soon. Earthpaw then shifted his blind gaze back to the kit.
The brown tom's silver stripes seemed to shimmer like a cat of Starclan in the dusk light. His ears twitched at a slight sound. His ears went strait and he listened. The tom heard the slight sound of paw steps as he let out a growl. Not in alarm but anger. His whole plan would be ruined if a clan cat came. Earthpaw shuved the kit into a bush and hissed for him to stay there. Earthpaw hoped the young tom would listen.
