From: It Takes Time
Rosepelt nodded at this suggestion of walking towards Fourtrees. Everytime she went near that place, she though of her first time visiting under Silverstar's rule. She had been Rosepaw then, and went with Puddleclaw, a close friend who her mother had helped raise after her own mother's loss. Another thing my mom did that was so wonderful... The thought made her sad not because she missed her mother now, but because of how she thought it. She had loved her mother, but was bitter that she had left her alone in the world. Was it fair to do that? No, it probably wasn't. But the hadheaded warrior would continue to try and work things out between StarClan and herself. "You know I love fourtrees and the story of it. Silverstar used to tell us all the time in the nursery. Hollowheart, my father, would join in and tell of battles and other stories. I used to love them." It was true, she did love them. Rosepelt had always wanted to become a brave warrior. Maybe ever leader. But recently, as times went on, her passion for her Clan had dwindle, along with her enthusiasm for anything. [/blockquote]

He listened, it was what he was good at. He nodded from time to time as she spoke and remembered the stories himself. He hadn't really known her father, seen him from time to time, but never really got to know him. For some reason he could feel vibes of pain coming off of her and could tell it was his time to speak. "I love fourtrees too, this is like my second home. Whenever I was sad, or lonely I would just come here and sit below one of the oaks, looking into all the lands around. It was peaceful here, like a calm, well home." He smiled, most Windclan cats didn't like being under trees, but well he liked to sit under one every now and then. He lifted his muzzle to the sky taking in a breath, the scent of prey was in the air. "Shall we hunt?" He was just out hunting, but he didn't mind chasing a few rabbits again, hunting was a good way to pase the time.

"You know what I like most about fourtrees, I feel relaxed. It's as if it's the closest I can get to StarClan because they made this place and this is where they start the gatherings and watch over. It helps me remember that our families are still hear with us." There was a slight sound of pain, but more more relief in her voice. It was if what she was saying was something she needed to hear from herself, not anyone else. "If I find something, I'll hunt. We can bury it and come back for it later." Rosepelt's first catch was a mouse. The thing went to quickly across, and Wingstar laughed as she ran after several mice, chasing them all away. Speed was her thing, and she caught one with such caution, she was surprised when she ended up having it in her paws. Her hastiness was always the reason she missed something, so the rare opportunities she had of calm and patience, she quickly took and cherished. "Do you smell anything? I find the deeper we get into forest, the harder it is to get prey... all these trees in the way."

Fallensky watched her hunt the mice, he could never really get that, they always heard him, Windclan cats were ment to run on the moor, not go through trees. Though a familar scent catch his attention. Turning quick he crashed through a bush and gave chase of a rabbit, it ran up the moor but he was fast. He caught up to it and leaped, landing on the white fur he gave it one bite to the neck the kill it. He began to walk back to where Rosepelt waited.
"We should eat something, we arn't on hunting duty so what harm could be done." He set the prey down in front of her paws and leaned down taking a bite, then he pushed the prey closer to her dipping his head. "I'm not going to eat the whole thing myself, or I will look like I take to much." He smiled and took another bite waiting for her to join him.

She agreed, bending down and taking a bite. Mouse was her favorite thing to eat, but that was most likely because that was her first prey caught. Now rabbit, she just liked. "I agree, I haven't really eaten all day and we'd probably only eat it if we brought it back to camp." The reasoning made sense in her mind, and probably would have made sense to other warriors. Another one of her problems was she worried too much about other's opinions, or that she would be held the standards of her parents, who were almost legends themselves in the camp. Everyone knew hew father Hollowheart for his braveness, and the closer friends knew him for his kindness to all cats, not just WindClan. Now everyone loved her mother for her softness. Rosepelt was hard, and as she continued on her warrior journey, she oddly felt her loyalty dwindling due to her sadness. Her parents were so loyal, so true... but she wanted something greater, something more. These memories brought back a few other memories of skipping camp and trying to find Brownclaw. They hadn't been the closest of friends, due to their parents hating each other, being on the opposite ends of the Warrior Code. But all that was behind them now. "I have always wondered why the four Clans seclude themselves from each other. Sometimes I wonder what the young warriors in the other camps feel," she admitted, looking up at Fallensky.

(Sorry about the bad typing getting tired)
He waited before replying. He sat down and licked his lips, pondering on what she said, after a bit he had thought over what to say next, and well knew just the right way to do it. "We seclude ouselves from the other clans for strengh and loyalty to each other." He paused, to let sink in what he had said, then explain what he ment by all that. "If all the clans were friendly to each other, we wouldn't need all the strengh and battle triaining we have, and out loyalty would falture. It would be like Windclan didn't matter, that you still had the others from the other clans. You would feel more alone, and I think their would be a hole where your lolalty was." He looked at her wondering what she had to say on the topic.

[Need to go to bed... I'll post tomorrow.]Rosepelt nodded, understanding what he was saying. She stood there, taking it all in. What he is saying is making sense... she told herself, slightly embarrassed that she had even brought it up. However the answer assured her of what she needed to know... she had to be like her father and continue in WindClan; she had to continue being loyal and faithful because like Fallensky had said, in the end, there whole be a hole where her loyal should be, and since she had no family, the Clan would have to do. "Thank you, I think that has helped me a considerable amount. I guess I was wondering why we seclude ourselves, but I suppose that is why StarClan makes us go to gatherings, so we can understand that we are all cats in a forest, trying to survive."

"Yes I agree, and that we meet each other, to show how much loyalty we have to our own clans, to show we are warriors at heart." He paused thinking again, this was more talking then he would do in a moon, "also without loyalty we wouldn't need to be warriors, we would all be like kittypets and loners, looking for something to be home, something to be loyal to." he smiled, for awhile he too didn't know why the clans put themselves so far from each other, then he remembered Starclan made four clans for a reason, and that was for the heart of a warrior in all. He took a few more bites and looked at her once more, this was a good conversation, he hoped that he helped clear her head, like he wanted to do.

Rosepelt shivered as a rush of cold air went through her white and amber fur. Her fur was like her mother's, amber and white. When she was born everyone told her she was a replica of her mother, little did they know nothing else about her was. Her brother was like her father, the same color and loyal personality to himself. Hollowheart came with a repuation, which in WindClan was a good one, but for Darkfur's kits and Brownclaw, not so much. The young she-cat decided to shake these feelings from herself, and regain the world. "Ah, how true. That sounds like something Wingstar, my old mentor, would have said." Wingstar was all about WindClan and the old leader's loyal had always impressed Rosepelt as a young kit, then as an apprentice being trained by the hard Deputy turned leader. "You know, as a kit, I never would have thought life to be this way. It's almost as if my entire life has been turned upside down, and here I am complaining and whining about it."

He grinned and put his tail under her chin lifting her head high, "keep your head high, you deserve a better life, forget the past, and be the best warrrior you can be. Stop trying to be someone you're not, be yourself." He turned and started to walk again, she once was the leaders apprentice, how much of a warrior she could be, but she wasn't trying. He just relized they were more alike then he thought. He could be an amazing warrior, but he never tried, he never spoke out. All he did was think things over, and consider all possibiltys before doing anything. He sighed and looked back at her, "you know, I know how you feel, even if you think you're alone." He smiled and walked up the slope flicking his tail for her to follow again.

A tiny smile crosses Rosepelt's face as her fellow warrior tried to encourage her. Maybe she wasn't alone? I've been pitying myself over and over, telling myself that I was the only one. The siblings, they don't care. They both moved on, but I haven't. It wasn't my mother's fault... A huge sigh escaped the amber she-cat as she licked her paws for a moment. It wasn't right, wasn't fair blaming her mother when her mother spent her life trying to protect them from the very thing she was facing: sadness. It all tied down to her depression and unwillingness to let go of the past and move ahead in life, only if they were a few simple steps. Her mother had always said, Life starts with kit steps. Rosepelt took one last bite out of the rabbit, feeling full and refreshed. "You're right, I should start to move on." She paused for a moment, taking in everything he said. "You've heard my story, or probably know most of it... what's yours?" she asked curiously. "You don't have to tell me, but we've never really talked."

Fallensky smiled, he really didn't have a story, but he would tell it anyway. For a moment he just kept walking in the silence, what he liked to do, then he looked at her. "I was the middle kit, never really played much, never really talked. Same when I became an apprentice. I just kept my mouth shut. I can fight very well, I can hunt good, but I just don't try. I don't mind being in the shadows, I kind of like it." He kept walking heading along the Riverclan border and up towards the gorge. He looked at her again and then away from her. Would she think of his a coward for not trying, a lazy furball maybe.

Rosepelt was about to nod in agreement, but she couldn't. The only part of that she understood was the end, the not trying. Why, she had been the eldest. She used to be the strongest, the most outspoken, and the most competitive. But most of all, she stayed the closest with her mother... she was the most loyal towards WindClan in her own opinion. So did she understand? Maybe a little. Rosepelt had observed Puddleclaw her whole life, and knew the she-cat had no mother or father to make proud, while Rosepelt spent her days showing her mother different things. But Puddleclaw was definitely the happiest cat she had ever known; then there was Rosepelt, a lonely, solemn cat that had spent the last moon mourning over parents. Was this what Wingstar had taught her? No, it wasn't. Wingstar had told her to always be proud and keep her head high. The words of Wingstar echoed in her head as she remembered how the leader had explained that strong blood ran in her veins, and she had to keep it going. This she was not going, but it had to change... and soon. "Well maybe we should both try harder. I mean, I always wanted to be the one seen, the one with the attention as a kit. Now I'm trying to hide in my past, which has not been all that bad. I know it must have been hard for you, but Wingstar's right in saying that we have our Clan to look for and take care of, and that we must do I think." The words came out of her mouth towards the other warrior more of an assuring way for herself, then encouragement. It was what she not needed to hear, but needed to say. [/blockquote]
