A grey and white tom was layingout on the open moors. The snow had begun to melt a little that day from some previous rain and a little sun. An open patch of grass was dotted on the snow backdrop and the lithe tom was injoying his last moments on it. His pale yellow eyes flicked over the moors. No cats were around. His grey tail flicked back and forth, the white tip sure to follow. Charlie let out a light sigh.
He knew he was dying. Starclan had told him it was to happen soon. Why? He didn't know. He had no energy. No strength. He had been confined to the warriors' den to rest for the past half moon. He was miserable. Cheetahpaw had been moping around because she was angry at Creek for leaving and tired of being an apprentice. Cheetahpaw hadn't really payed any attention to Charlie since Creek left. And then there was Creek. Charlie's only sister and living family. He missed her dearly but she had a mate and kits.
Charlie launched a pale gaze towards the open hills before him. Small dips in the ground housed hares and rabbits. They had fed him throughout his whole life here. "thank you for giving your life to feed me." Charlie whispered as small brown and tan creatures bounded over the Windclan terra. A small breeze swept through the tom's fur and ruffled it softly. "Thank you for your comforting whisps." Charlie breathed out with his eyes now closed. His voice now was talken away by the wind and it let out a low howl as it rolled over the moor, as if thanking him. Charlie slitted his eyes open and saw misty cats gathering around him. "Thank you for giving me a good life Windclan. I'll watch over your plains forever." He said in one last breath and then layed his slim head on his once swift paws and opened them to a glittering she-cat. "welcome to Starclan Charlie." She said in a smooth voice and they walked away.
