Eelstreak could move like a warrior, stealthy and completely silent. But now he deliberately stepped with as much sound as he could so that his sightless apprentice could follow him without having his tail draped over her shoulders. When they reached the Weathered Rocks Eelstreak sat down beside them and motioned with his tail for Dawnpaw to sit beside him. The gray warrior kicked himself mentally and spoke aloud for her benefit.
Dawnpaw, come sit down for a second. I'd like to talk at you for a minute before we get down to training.
The elder cat watched her listen for him and considered her quietly. The little cat, though having the hardship of being born with sightless eyes, was clearly warrior material. He just hoped that he would be the mentor she deserved.

Dawnpaw trudged behind Eelstreak with her head down. Her drooping tail stirred the debris on the ground, rustling the pine needles. Beneath her paws, she could feel the prickling of pointed stones and a hard, rough surface. Her ears swiveled continually, always listening for sounds that would give her vital information about her surroundings. Only this time it was hard to hear because her mentor was crashing through the pine forest, making as much noise as a badger. The tan apprentice sighed, laying her ears back dejectedly. She knew why Eelstreak was making such a racket. He wanted to guide her without embarrassing her. What he didn't realize was how humiliating it was for her to know that he was sacrificing his dignity as a stealthy warrior when she didn't need him to.
When her paws pressed against a stone and her nostrils filled with the strange warm smell, she paused for a moment. She could hear a breeze moving over the stone, its playful fingers whispering through her fur and making her shiver. Dawnpaw shuffled her feet, turning her head in order to get a better idea of where she was. She was nervous and wished that Cavernpaw was with her.
"Eelstreak?" she mewed, trying to find her mentor.
Her head whipped around in his direction when she heard his tail swish. Her brown eyes were wide and alert with her uncertainty, the pink splashes around the edge of her iris clearly visible. "Dawnpaw, come sit down for a second. I'd like to talk to you for a minute before we get down to training."
"Yes, Eelstreak." she squeaked, sprinting to where he was and catching herself before she tumbled into him. Tentative, she stretched out her muzzle and let her whiskers brush his muscular legs. When she knew how he was positioned, she carefully moved herself around him and sat on his right side. Extremely shy, she kept her head down but forced herself to keep the rest of her body straight.
She hoped this training session wouldn't go as badly as she thought it might.

{ I'M SICK OF THE TENSION, SICK OF THE HUNGER } { SICK OF YOU ACTING LIKE I OWE YOU THIS } The wind frolicked around the tom's muscular build and dragged at his whiskers and his short fur, tugging him along like a long lost friend. It whispered playfully in his ear, disrupting his ear fur. The fiery orange tom sighed and sat up straighter, challenging to wind to disturb him longer. His eyes--as amazing as mexican fire opals--surveyed the land he came to know as home. He and his siblings had been born into it with hostile neighbors whom they had to call their Clan.
Feeling unsupressed anxiety making his paws itch, the beau heaved himself to his limber legs and ran, enjoying the silence in his mind. All he could hear was the wind whistling a joyful tune in his ear, mumbling promising tales of its journeys across the globe. An uncharacteristic laugh escaped Magma's maw as he let the wind carry him across soil and stone. Right now, he was happy.
He missed Scorpion, though...
Slowing down, the ginger tom's eyes narrowed and he sighed. He wanted to go see his mate right now, but he had some other duties to attend to. Ears pricked and eyes searching, Magmapaw padded around, searching for any herbs he could bring back to his mentor.
But than a faint mew made the tom stop abruptly and grow tense, his rounded ears pressing flat against his skull. A snarl pulled his lips back; Magma's luminous eyes were alive with a fire.
Claws scraping the stone beneath him, the tom let his mind wander, taking in all of the thoughts around him. His taste buds picked up the scent of what seemed to him like eel skin oil and the crispness of fresh morning dew. The medicine cat apprentice relaxed. It's only Eelstreak and my sister, he thought.
Tredding silently on his delicate paws, Magmapaw crept up to the weathered rocks and peered around, catching sight of Dawnpaw's hunched shoulders. His orange eyes travelled over to Eelstreak and lingered there for a minute, sensing the faint lines of uncertainty in the way he held himself. Magma opened his mind more, trying to decipher the thoughts of the ShadowClan warrior. He was trying his best to be helpful to his apprentice, but he was also doubting both his and Dawnpaw's abilities. The son of Fireice growled inaudibly, his eyes flashing.
Looking away, Magma's eyes drifted up to the top of the tumble of rocks and he followed, his long legs working to get him to the pinnacle. After sitting down and looking upon the two cats below, Magmapaw tucked his legs under him and stared down with bored eyes; a frown on his lips. The ginger beau yawned, his maw opening wide to show pearly white fangs. " Morning, Dawnkit; Eelstreak, " he crooned, his voice taking on a velvety venomous tone. Flicking his ears back, Magmapaw glanced at his sister, searching for any signs of sadness in her.

Eelstreak flinched guiltily; he hadn't even noticed the flame colored apprentice lurking there. He'd hoped to get through the first training session with Dawnpaw uninterrupted; he was nervous enough about training her at all, much less training her with interruptions.
Mprning, Magmaki- Magmapaw. We were just getting ready to start some training...
The warrior narrowed his yellow eyes at the apprentice. It was rumored that the young cat had some kind of... power, he wasn't sure if he believe all that. But if he did, he would be getting the very clear message to 'shoo'! However, the other tom did not seem to get the hint. So Eelstreak suppressed a long-suffering sigh and offered politely,
You can join us if you want. And if Dawnpaw is okay with that, of course.

Dawnpaw was quite sure that she certainly, beyond a shadow of a doubt, did not like awkward moments. Sitting here just waiting for Eelstreak to tell her what to do next was almost heart wrenching. She was deathly afraid that her young mentor expected very little from her. She was afraid she would have to prove to him that just because she was blind, that didn't mean she was an underachiever. She felt that she might be. A nagging thought in the back of her scull, constantly asking her why did she not do anything for her brothers and mother when they needed her, drove her to the point of irritation sometimes. She was not as handicapped as some cats thought her to be. And having been awakened to her powers of perception, seeing in her dreams when she had never seen before, had encouraged her that there was something extraordinarily special about her instead of a handicap. She could imagine, and she could use it to benefit her. But something within her, some warning she was unsure was helpful or hindering, pushed her to hide what she had. She was afraid of cats finding out about her dreams. She was afraid of her brothers finding out. She was afraid of Magmapaw.
She couldn't clearly say why. Ever since Fireice's warning to be wary of him, Dawnpaw had been nervous of the mere thought of the fiery orange apprentice. She was well aware that he possessed special . . . strengths. It was hard to be his sister and not notice that his precociousness went beyond cute cleverness. He knew things. He might even be able to know what she was thinking write now, sitting here on Weathered Rocks beside Eelstreak. She banished him from her mind.
"Eelstreak," she began, softly. "I can do loads of warrior stuff already; Cavernpaw showed me. I can do a hunter's crouch." she turned her brown eyes up to him, as if she could see him there. But it wasn't Eelstreak she was trying to see. She could hear something knew, feel its prescience. The hair on her shoulders rose stiffly.
"Oh," she mewed.
As if her thoughts had summoned him, he was there. Cool and collected, regarding them both with the haughty expression Dawnpaw had learned to recognize as a dignified silence. There are rumors that blind creatures are opened to energies that the 'normal' can feel, but disregard because their working senses overpower it. Well, Dawnpaw could certainly pick up something. Like a pulse flowing between all three of them, but she thought it was just her own fear.
" Morning, Dawnpaw; Eelstreak, " Magmapaw meowed in his silky voice. Dawnpaw forced herself to relax. He would sense her sudden flighty terror of him and become suspicious. He might even be hurt. Who said he was aware of what Fireice knew? They couldn't be divided; her, him, and Cavernpaw. They needed each other, especially if trouble was coming.
"Hello, Magmapaw!" she called more breezily than she felt. She noticed Eelstreak stiffening beside her. She wondered how tense she looked. Loosen up a little, will you?
Dawnpaw inhaled a bit sharply when the warrior made his offer, adding that she would be making the ultimate decision. She tilted her head to the side. If Eelstreak was going to let Magmapaw stay, why did she need to approve? Was it a way out of Eelstreak's politeness?
"He can stay. Magmapaw knows lots, and he knows the easier ways for me to learn. He could show you how to teach me things." Actually, it sounded like a good idea to her. Magmapaw knew her well, maybe even better than Cavernpaw did. He would know best how to help her, how to make her see. tag EEL & FIAH! character Dawnpaw <3 muse Its not as bad as I thought it would be notes A few days rest is very refreshing X] Sorry I didn't get done sooner. { I'M SICK OF THE TENSION, SICK OF THE HUNGER } { SICK OF YOU ACTING LIKE I OWE YOU THIS } If there was anything that annoyed Magmapaw more than the arrogance of others, it was the way cats let their emotions overwhelm them. Yet it amused him, also. It made him feel superior, immortal, when he could keep his face serene and knowing as others continued to be bumbling idiots with their feelings. But when he was around Scorpion, he was different. Loquacious and open-minded, he would speak whatever he was feeling and would make promises he knew he just couldn't keep. Since it was his true love, though, he had to.
" Eelstreak, I can do loads of warrior stuff already; Cavernpaw showed me. I can do a hunter's crouch. Oh... Morning, Magmapaw!
" The first thing Magma sensed was the tension emanating from Eelstreak. The tom's gray body was ram-rod straight and he scrutinized Magmapaw with an anxious and slightly fearful eye. The ginger tom could hear the messages in the warrior's mind quite clearly, but all he did was stare down at him with a smirk on his broad lips and a challenge in his eye. " Morning, Magmaki--Magmapaw. We were just getting ready to start some training... " Magmapaw yawned arrogantly and continued to stare at Eelstreak and Dawnpaw with the same haughty expression he arrived with. He c o c k e d an eyebrow up as if to say And that would matter to me because...?" You can join us if you want. And if Dawnpaw is okay with that, of course. " The young tom sniffed in contempt and glanced at Dawnpaw, his eyes questioning as he felt the terror mask all of her emotions momentarily. He could see the tension in her shoulders and the way her spine was arched. Magmapaw's mouth tasted of bile; her fear was that strong. The tom got to his small paws and stretched, enjoying the way the sun caught his fur and made it glimmer. Magma knew he was handsome and prided in that, not caring if it angered others. Nobody really mattered to him; including their worthless opinions. " He can stay. Magmapaw knows lots, and he knows the easier ways for me to learn. He could show you how to teach me things. " Smirking in Eelstreak's direction, Magmapaw bounded down the pile of weather-beaten rocks to stand before his sister. The tom stared at her with his orange eyes questioning before he turned to Eelstreak to talk to him. " Thanks for the offer, but I would just like to watch... That is, " he added coldly, " unless you need my help training Dawnpaw, Eelstreak. " Magmapaw's teeth were bared slightly as his lips pulled up in a challenging smile. The tom's stream-lined body was relaxed even in this tense enviroment. " After all, it doesn't seem right for a medicine cat apprentice to interfere in the wellfare of the warrior world, " he mewed lazily, his eyes amused, though. The tom scrutinized his sister for a moment longer and started to groom his lovely pelt, letting the tension hang in the air a little bit longer before he spoke again. " Then again, " he mewed, " Dawnpaw does have a point. I do know the best ways to teach her. " He smiled innocently up at Eelstreak before turning to his kin. " Show me that hunter's crouch you were talking about earlier, Dawnpaw, " he commanded lightly, trying his best to take full control of Eelstreak's training session. " Remember to keep your weight evenly distributed throughout your body and keep your belly and tail off the ground. Besides, Cavernpaw isn't the best to go to for any kind of advice, " he hissed, scorn lathering his voice at the thought of Cavernpaw. Magmapaw sat stiff, afraid that he let his emotions show for once. His tail flicked in irritation; Cavernpaw means nothing to me!![/blockquote][/blockquote] tag; eel and blackie!! muse; buiding... building... BUILDING!! notes; yeah, my muse is returning!! The thick fur on Eelstreak's shoulders rose and his long claws shot out to bury themselves in the dirt and loam in front of him. How dare he? How dare this...this kit, practically, just waltz in here and begin to give orders to his apprentice? The young warrior was having a hard time remembering that not all that long ago, he, too, had been an apprentice and that he wasn't really all that much older and wiser than Magmapaw, if he was honest with himself. Nonetheless, Eelstreak's fledgling warrior pride was taking the intrusion hard, even if he himself had asked Magmapaw to join the session.
The warrior could think of several tempting and instinctive replies to the apprentice's arrogant words. One was a verbal attack; a fight he'd surely lose. Words had never been his strong point and it was very obvious that Magmapaw was the greater wordsmith even at his age. Another was a physical attack; this was by far his option of choice. The orange tom would stand no chance. Eelstreak was a warrior for a reason and he was ready to have a go at the smaller cat, just say the word...
But his conscience, that little-heeded voice of reason that everyone possesses at one time or another, called him back and reined him in. Eelstreak willed his tense body to loosen and his claws to pull back from the earth in which they'd sunk. Was he insane, actually thinking of attacking a member of his Clan? Who knew, maybe he was. He forced himself to think reasonably: Magmapaw was only an apprentice, and all apprentices thought they owned the earth and the sky. He should know, he had been one of those apprentices who thought that life owed him a favor. Maybe he still was. Besides, ShadowClan were having enough trouble from the rest of the Clans without fighting among themselves because of stupid attitudes.
Plus, Magmapaw was right on one point. He probably knew more about how to teach Dawnpaw than anyone in the Clan, excepting maybe Cavernpaw. True, he was only a young cat, but he had grown up with Dawnpaw and knew how she thought, knew her rythyms and quirks better than her new mentor did. Training was a learning experience for both mentor and apprentice, Eelstreak knew that. It was just hard to put into practice on the first day. Calming his nerves, Eelstreak sat on his still bubbling temper and spoke with a joking lightness that he didn't really feel yet.
Go ahead please, Dawnpaw. I'd like to see what you already know so my teaching doesn't bore your eyes out.

What a life this little wonder was leading! Barely six moons old, and already she was full of confusion and self-esteem issues, and building terror of who knew what. How stupid, how naive, how very vulnerable she was. Magmapaw can feel your tension! You know he can, he feels everything. Of course she knew that wasn't entirely true, but she wasn't ready yet to demean her brother's capabilities until she had learned its full extent. And in doing so, she would have to probe through her own. Could one of the siblings be more powerful than the other? Dawnkit wasn't naturally competitive, but she suddenly hoped very much that hidden inside her was something just as strong as her littermate. Or at least in Cavernpaw, who would have stood up to Magmapaw anyway. Does Cavernpaw even have a . . . a power?
While Magmapaw did his utmost to humiliate Eelstreak, Dawnpaw flexed and stretched her muscles. They were actually rather pathetic, mostly just enough flesh to cover the bones. The tan apprentice could sense her weakness as easily as she could hear and smell. She was very out of shape. In fact, she was puny. But that was what the training was for, wasn't it? To make her strong?
" Show me that hunter's crouch you were talking about earlier, Dawnpaw, "
Flashing her blind gaze in his direction, she began to fall into immediate obedience. It was just natural to do what her brothers told her, even if she sometimes didn't understand what it was they wanted. They'd never steered her wrong before. She had just gotten her forelegs flat on the ground, when Magmapaw continued talking, his tone scathing.
" Remember to keep your weight evenly distributed throughout your body and keep your belly and tail off the ground. Besides, Cavernpaw isn't the best to go to for any kind of advice, "
A burst of fury erupted inside her. Like a heartbeat or a breath, she retaliated as readily as if she had planned it. I already know to keep even! And keep quiet about Cavernpaw, I'm tired of you two always fighting! Can't you nitwits see I need you both?" As soon as she had said it, she regretted it. She had shouted at Magmapaw, who never took such treatment without a price, and in front of Eelstreak as well.
Ooh, she was in for it! If only Cavernpaw were there. He would have stood beside her, defiance glinting stonily in his eyes. He'd watch out for her, to make sure Magmapaw didn't try to hurt her when she was off her guard. But Cavernpaw wasn't here and Magmapaw would wait until they were completely alone.
"I'm sorry." she murmured, knowing how lame her low voice must sound. "I didn't sleep very well last night, and I'm all grumpy today." tag EEL & FIAH! character Dawnpaw <3 muse mrrph . . . fail notes -strokes Dawnpaw and tries not to fall asleep-

{ I AM GOD'S GIFT BUT WHY WOULD HE BLESS ME WITH } { SUCH WIT WITHOUT A CONSCIENCE EQUIPPED } The clear bell-like laughter filled Magmapaw's mouth with its tantalizing sweetness as he held it back, triumph seeping throughout his whole body. He watched with glowing eyes as Eelstreak's body went against him; muscles rippling under thick gray fur and serrated claws tearing at Mother Earth's foundation. Magma knew that he was the master of words, using them to his advantage and making other's minds seem like his own. This, paired with his unnerving ability to delve into the depths of everyone's minds, was a deadly combination that could eventually prove to be his downfall. But Magmapaw was one that didn't care about his demise as long as everyone else went down with him; especially those that dared to rebel against him. He was an belligerent tom, yearning for the blood soaked taste of dictatorship. But he calmed many nerves with his quick, sharp tongue. Easily, he could weave lies out of the air; what a beautiful gift that was! Promises could be made without your word being held to them!
" Go ahead please, Dawnpaw. I'd like to see what you already know so my teaching doesn't bore your eyes out. "
Smirking, Magmapaw slightly shook his head. His talking is boring my eyes out.
Tossing his head nonchalantly, Magmapaw's ears pricked as he picked up the signal of distress emanating from his sister. What in the world--? Magmapaw can feel your tension! You know he can, he feels everything. A tide of fury swept through the young tom as he let his extremely long claws dig into the rock. Though he seemed weak and inexperienced in battle, he was frighteningly quick and much more powerful than everyone believed him to be. As quickly as it came, the rage disappeared as Magmapaw padded up beside Dawnpaw and brought his mouth down by her ear. " Yes, I can, " he whispered darkly, his voice too low for Eelstreak to hear. " And I'm watching very closely. . . And listening. Nothing will escape my attention, Sister. " Magmapaw closed his eyes as he probed through Dawnpaw's thoughts, the only sign of life was the slow rise and fall of his flank. The amber-orange eyes rolled and twitched behind the eyelids, seeing something other than the darkness. The tom's upper lip curled back to display needle-like teeth in a silent snarl as his kin's silent questionings swerved to Cavernpaw's direction. Does Cavernpaw even have a . . . a power? What kind of power would the god forsaken vermin have? An unusual, icy feeling clutched him, digging its claws into his flesh. Magma's soul squirmed and writhed on the inside, his silent screams filling his head. I'm not ready to go yet!! This feeling wasn't his God and maker killing him, it was fear. Something much worse than anything Magmapaw had ever experienced before. Catered to his every whim, he had no need to fear anything--or anyone. Not until now. His powers were failing when it came to his siblings. Dawnpaw's mind was growing more and more complex as Fireice's hold on her grew tighter. A vengeful mother, she wasn't going to let her only daughter grow corrupt to Magmapaw's smooth lies. Cavernpaw. . . Ever since birth his mind had been a complex labyrinth of light-deprived tunnels that led to nowhere. Many time had he tried to find the source of all of the darkness in his brother, but all he could see was. . . Well, nothing. It was a horrible feeling, and every time Magma would depart he would be covered in a cold sweat. So vulnerable. It was like his own mind was being breached as he was in his brother's. " I already know to keep even! And keep quiet about Cavernpaw, I'm tired of you two always fighting! Can't you nitwits see I need you both? " The immediate whiplash of terror clawed Magma across the face as he felt the rage boil in his veins. Like magma, his blood bubbled and writhed under his skin, trying to burn its way through. Teeth bared in a frustrated and enraged grimace, Magmapaw forced his body to relax. You can't have both of us. " I'm sorry. I didn't sleep very well last night, and I'm all grumpy today. " Against his resolve, a small exasperated hiss slipped past Magma's lips. " I wonder why. " No doubt Fireice's doing, he added silently. Eyes glittering malicously, the ginger tom turned his burning gaze onto Eelstreak, a clear warning in the way his teeth glinted in the light. " Would you mind if I talked to Dawnpaw alone for a minute? " Though it was meant to be a question, it came out as more of a deman through Magmapaw's clenched teeth. The tom's tail flicked in spite while the gold stripe running down his spine bristled subtly. For once, his cool demeanor was breaking. All thanks to Dawnpaw. Flashing a look at the tan she-cat, Magma wondered if he was really was willing to kill just Cavernpaw. Eelstreak watched brother and sister interact with a growing sense of unease. He'd heard rumors, stories, lies, about the kits of Fireice before. But they were just old queens' gossip, right? No cat could really have powers or any nonsense like that. Right? But something was definitely going on between the two of them. The gray warrior watched Dawnpaw do her best to stay calm and normal and stick to some semblance of training. He watched Magmapaw manipulate and taunt her without saying a word. And suddenly he felt very, very alone and far out of his depth.
All his life Eelstreak had wanted nothing more than to become the best warrior he could be for his Clan. To serve and protect. He knew how to fight, he knew how to hunt, he knew how to deal with the tangible. But his fur prickled with the knowledge that this was more along the lines of StarClan... or something. If it wasn't StarClan, he didn't want to know what. Out of all apprentices, he lamented silently, I get the one with a psycho for a brother.
Actually, if he thought about it (and something told him he'd be doing a lot of thinking about it), Dawnpaw wasn't exactly normal either. Look at that hunting crouch. Beautiful, even for such a little thing. And the way she coped even without physical sight was pretty amazing to him. Perhaps even surreal. But maybe he was just overdramatizing, proud of his apprentice already. Maybe. Hopefully.
Magmapaw pinned him with a look and Eelstreak got two messages. One was from the apprentice's mouth, asking (demanding?) that he and his sister be left alone to talk. The other was from his orange eyes, saying You sicken me. So far below my power, so insignificant. Go, get thee gone, worm! Well, maybe that wasn't the message. Maybe he was overreacting again. Eelstreak hoped that was all, just his crazy imagination. Because if it wasn't, he was in deeper trouble than he'd thought. No, he thought. I won't leave her alone with you. His mouth, on the other paw, had different plans.
Yeah, sure, you betcha. Just for a second though, we've got to get some training in. Dawnpaw, give me a shout if you need me, alright?
Yellow eyes narrowed at his little tan apprentice. Magmapaw wouldn't harm his own sister, would he? Surely not. Blood is thicker than... than magma? Eelstreak prayed that it was as he turned on his paws and bounded a short distance away from the training clearing. He could still see them, through the undergrowth, but he couldn't hear. And oh, what he wouldn't give to hear. OOC: I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, it wasn't supposed to take this long to reply. I'm really, really sorry!

And I'll forget the world that I knew But I swear I won't forget you The problem with having gifts is that people expect you to use them. And they expect you to use them according to what will benefit themselves. Even dreams? Who wouldn't want the ability to walk through one's mind, to explore and experience while you slept. Forbidden lovers could meet during the night without a soul to be witness. Secrets would be uncovered by the trespass of thoughts. Lost cats could be found . . .
Dawnpaw had a gift, but now, being faced by her brother and the expectation of her mentor, all she could see was a curse. Her life was so full of uncertainty that she could not trust her own family. Could she even rely on Eelstreak? Could he ever understand the weight his small apprentice carried? Cats she didn't even know were depending on her to find them and show them their future: the well-being of his dead sister's kits. It was her duty. Hers; no one else could be told the secret, least of all Magmapaw, who was sure to manipulate Dawnpaw's confusion and fear and talents to his own glory.
" Would you mind if I talked to Dawnpaw alone for a minute? "
No. The blind she-cat tried to look Eelstreak's way, but her senses were reeling with nervous tension. Alone with her brother? Before Fireice, Dawnpaw might have invited her sibling's company eagerly. He was so smart and sure of himself, such a comfort to his timid sister. But not now. Not after she knew that she did not know what he was capable of, what he would do, the extent of his betrayal if that were really his goal. She didn't know him. She didn't know her own brother.
Yeah, sure, you betcha. Just for a second though, we've got to get some training in. Dawnpaw, give me a shout if you need me, alright?
"Yes, Eelstreak." Dawnpaw mewed sullenly, lowering her gaze and desperately wishing that she could see. As if imagining that she could would grant her vision. She felt like screaming right then, losing herself in some sort of crazy breakdown. She longed for Cavernpaw and Fireice, but especially for her father. He had not been prominent in her life for the last few moons, and now she needed Tanshadow more than anything. Daddy, The little one cringed beneath Magmapaw's scathing glance. Daddy, please come. Please come get me. [/blockquote] tag Fi and Eel! muse Muse? Can you still see the heart of me? All of my agony fades away when you hold me in your embrace.

Magmapaw [glow=red,4,000]♥[/glow] >Would you mind if I killed you< >Would you mind if I tried to cause you hell< Sometimes what is destined for us isn't the path we want to take. Being the indignant creatures we are, our immediate response is to deny it. Ignorant!; we don't know what's best for us. Leave that to the mothers and fathers! But what if there are no parents around. . . ? What if the nurturing mother is rotting in her grave? Alive yet still dead, unable to break out of the nightmarish prison she has been barred behind. And what about the father who has seemed to forget everything that had happened between him and his mate, ignoring his children with a haughty air to him. Who does he think he is to blame his love's death on their offspring? Though the brood was tainted with lies and deception, that gave Tanshadow no reason to abandon them in their time of need. So what is to happen now that they have no one to guide them? Magmapaw fell to his own darkest desires, letting his avarice and lust guide him. Cavernpaw had no one to help ease the constant pain and agony--it was obvious how he was rotting away. And Dawnpaw. . . Was Fireice really the best of mentors for reality and fantasy?
Out of all apprentices, I get the one with a psycho for a brother.
The ginger tom's lips pulled up in a maniacal smile as he looked away, his coal eyes glimmering wickedly. Psycho. As if it was a bad thing. Psychos didn't have to worry, sympathy didn't bar the way. They didn't have to fret over the pettiest of things; if you have no morals, what morals can be broken? This was all his; no one else belonged in his life besides Scorpion. Unlike before, he wasn't blown off of his feet by the thought of his secret mate. Eventually, she would become nothing more than a pawn to him. How long would it take before he put his life on the line? Would the prophecy consume everything until he didn't care if he lived or died? But until that day, he was going to be his normal psychotic self. No.No, I won't leave her alone with you. Magmapaw pinned both the gray warrior and his small sister down with a scathing gaze. You don't have a choice. " . . . Yeah, sure, you betcha. Just for a second though, we've got to get some training in. Dawnpaw, give me a shout if you need me, alright? " " Yes, Eelstreak. " Orange eyes narrowed into two needles, Magma watched as Eelstreak bounded out of the clearing to disappear into the underbrush, his yellow eyes the only part of him visible in the shadows. Deliberately, he kept his movements slow and as relaxed as possible. He knew about Dawnpaw's enhanced senses and didn't want to startle her or alert her mentor to his fury. Body language was much easier to read than many perceived it to be. Gracefully, the lithe tom repositioned himself to block Dawnpaw from Eelstreak's evasive gaze. If he couldn't see her expression, then Magma could say whatever he pleased--his clever little sister also knew not to say a word. Daddy. . . Daddy, please come. Please come get me. But she could think. " Daddy won't help you, " he crooned in his silky voice, his gaze smoldering. " And neither will she. . . Or Cavernpaw. " At this, his voice broke off and Magma looked away, his eyes distant and indifferent. " It's just you and me against the world, Little Morning "--was that a secret threat of the hidden truth in that smirk?!--" Two beings not quite understood. . . If at all. I can help you with your. . . ability if you want; a promise is needed, though. Stay out of my way and let me take down Cavernpaw or go down with him. " Grinning from ear to ear like the imaginative chesire cat, Magma got to his small paws and coyly groomed his chest. Painful, silent seconds passed as he examined his claws, smug when they glimmered dully. Arrogant, deceitful, and full of self-love and narcissistic; nothing else could combine to create a finer specimen of a fox-hearted coward and traitor. All he cared about was himself; no one else mattered more than Magmapaw. " You're smart, quick, and clever. . . I'm sure you'll make the right decision. "[/blockquote][/blockquote] tag: eel and blackie muse; I'm starting to make a comeback. . . notes; right now, my muse is run by one of those contraptions powered by a hamster wheel with an emaciated gerbil. . . lyrics; what have you done by within temptation

OOC: Blackie, would you like to post next? Because unless this conversation is over (and I don't know how it can be), Eelstreak really doesn't have much say at this point...
