Scorpion Loner
A flash of lightning, so bright that your eyes glow with a myraid of coloured spots, so loud your ears burn like hot coals fill the cannals, it lanced across the sky, its mesmorizing form pressed into the eyelids of the lithe she-cat that rested, motionless, beneath the trunk of a old sycamore, rotted through until it formed caverns for the small animals to scout through. She sat, paws aligned, glowing red eyes serene, even as rain drilled down from the frothing grey mass of clouds overhead. Like pellets they beat against her tan fur, plastering to her lean sides. She was sphinx-like, unmoving, uncaring as the sky seemed to be falling down in tiny torn pieces around her. She was oblivious, she was a silent shadow of a dead sycamore, or more like shadow to her dead mother. Sorrowheart. How had Skull loved her? Did he yowl his love for all to hear? Or did he press against Sorrow's rosetted golden pelt, keeping the passion he felt for her between the two of them.Or had she simply been a decoy, a distraction from the world around him, and his love for her was like a young child and its favorite blanket.
Or maybe he never loved her at all. Scorpion continued to stare out at the marshy Shadowclan territory. She shouldn't be here, she knew that much, but what did she care? Skull had a new shadow at his side, Meer. It literally seemed as though she had filled his head with mist and choked out all visions of his kin from him. Scorpion was no longer his little girl, his hope and dreams wrapped up in a fluffy kitten package. There was no longer need to try and impress him with ruthless bloodlust and thoughtless masquarades. No longer did she have to stalk innocent clanners as they provided services to their clans. They had done nothing to her, in fact, they had provided there own service to Scorpion. They had created her egsistance. If Skull had never been shunned by them, never made a clan hating group and never met Sorrow, she wouldn't have ever set paws on the cold, crust of the earth.
But she couldn't erase permanent marker, she couldn't erase the pain or the cats she hurt. That was set into stone. It was like how she couldn't paint over the violet red glow of her eyes. It would always be that way. But perhaps she could changfe her ways, take a new path, start a new page in her book of life. Scorpion flitted her eye lids open, scanning the marsh for life. Various reeds and bull rushes poked up out puddles of muddy brown swamp water. A few frogs half submerged by water croaked, and a fat toad loped slowly under a juniper bush, its beige skin covered in lumps and warts like hills and valleys carved out of dirt. It stared out at Scorpion, its yellow eyes static, its throat swelling with each breathe it took. Now the rain was beginning to pool around her, mixed with mud and grass. It soaked into her fur, sticky and uncomfortable against her delicate skin. She lifted her paw to quickly flick the mud away, sporting it across the land to land in various places. She would start a new page in her book, Scorpion looked up into the distance, where the red glow of sunset was shining through fissures in the clouds. And it would start now.

The sky was a battlefield. An unknown force attacking StarClan as they roared in fury and sent lightning--their flaring claws--down to strike at the force that angered them so. Rain, the blood of the enemy, fell upon the orange cat's fur. Though it was flattened and sodden to his skin, it still glowed like a flame. Or, as his name suggested, like rolling magma. He didn't mind the warring night sky, though. All he cared about was the prophecy that seemed to have taken over his whole being. Nothing much else mattered, now. All he heard, knew, saw, felt was the ominous prophecy that dealt with him and his siblings: Cavernkit and Dawnkit. "Under the shining eye Stands three that can never die Under the warring pains Stands three that will be left to gain And above they will stand Over StarClan, who will bid by their hand." he whispered. He knew that the only way to find rights to speak with Meer was to have Fragmentpaw, her daughter, to adopt the trio. That was already taken care of. Second, was to to gain more access and knowledge to StarClan by being a medicine cat apprentice. And third, to leave the Clans for good and set out on the journey StarClan had laid for his paws to walk. Nothing would stand in his way now...Except for Cavernkit. His brother who loathed him so. That was the problem. But another problem was rising on the horizon. A love that would blossom into a deadly relationship. But he didn't know this. And he didn't know that the sphinx that was lying under the sycamore was watching him now.

Movement. A flicker of fire, dancing through the bushes. Had Scorpion really been so deep in her thoughts that lighting could lance down a few fox-lengths away and wouldn't disturb her? No, as the claws of Starclan scraped down through the sky over the distance she could barely stand the roar. A bolt this close would sear her eyes and puncture her ear drums. Her bloody red eyes narrowed as she peered closer at the distinct orange shape that seemed to glow with a strange flame like aura, despite the rain that seemed to splatter across the ground like the blood of heavenly cats engaged in vicious battle with their talons of electricity raking the land. It was a cat, she realized with a jolt, and in a moment her limbs once yielded by gravity tensed into hard, rigid contours, her once soft eyes now glowing scarlet beacons that sliced through the darkness like knives.
The change happened quickly, in a single turn of her head she was a spring under pressure, waiting to snap upwards. It was like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, but instead of smooth movements that slowly twined hulking muscle to bone, she was alert and ready to fight in a seconds notice, ears and tail held level with the ground. The toad under the bush hopped further into its darkest reaches, the lumpy form slowly evaporating into the darkness until only its eyes glistened through the drooping boughs. Who was this newcomer? The scent that rolled off him was of Shadowclan, a faint aroma of pine and rain that stung Scorpion's nose as though the scent was hostile, and attacking a intruder in its territory. It wasn't a patrol, to few cats, and the tom didn't appear to hunting, so what would the cat be doing in weather such as this?
Scorpion pushed away the knowledge that herself was curled up under the rotten cover of a dead sycamore while a tempest battle raged above her. She didn't have much time to make her decision, would she show herself, and risk being captured by furious warriors, or stay cowering underneath the dark green bushes? New page or not, the last option just wasn't her. So, with head high and tail curved into a confident spiral over her back, she stepped forward, bits of moss catching on her long black claws. The wicked adders fang embedded in her tail end seemed to burn like the venom in it was eating away at her flesh, but that couldn't be the truth, seeing as that the poison sack was also veiled in her tail, and that gave her an immunity to the otherwise fatal poison.
Slowly, she padded from her cover, eyes cautious, seething like flames withheld in glass orbs. A cloak of shadows darkened her vibrant tan fur, which seemed paled compared to the fierce vividry of this toms pelt. Scorpion stopped to ponder if the cat had even noticed her abruptly step into his path, for it seemed his orangey-gold eyes had a far away look to them. Time to talk. " Good evening," She mewed, in a velvety voice. " What do you happen to be doing out in such a storm?" Her voice was alluring and formal, but her thoughts pounded against her head, and her heart beat against her rib cage like a frightened bird. It was easy to tell that anticipation was eating the she-cat up.
((Thanks ;D Yours is good too!))

[shadow=orange,left,300]Magmakit It wasn't her prescence, or her voice, or even the deadly adder fang that glistened with black poison on the tip of her tail, that brought his attention to Scorpion....It was the burning, raging feelings unfathomable in her that made his eyes flick up from the ground to her red eyes. All of this happened in a third of a second. Being so close to her and the fire that was emanatings from her was like having a cattle-prod shoved red-hot into his heart. He narrowed his eyes, stopped a few inches away from her, stared into nothing but those flaming eyes, and jumped back. This only took a second...But it seemed like a moon for him to do all of that. Not a bit of hostility came from him though. "And good evening to you, daughter of Skull," he spoke emotionlessly. During the she-cat's brooding, Magmakit tasted a name that reminded him of death and skeletons. The ever so feared Skull. He knew this. He just could feel and taste what many were thinking. "I am in such a storm for I have to fun an errand. It is an odd thing to ask, but will you join me on such a dark and dreadful night?" Was that a smile behind that emotionless facade?

Scorpion Loner
The day she was born...that was the day her mother died. She left the crawling, helpless kits to squeal and press against her looking for the warmth of a mother but finding only the cold hard shell of a body without any motive or soul. Her spirit had gone somewhere else, a place where the living could not find, or at least none had found yet. Fall, a she-cat that had been close to Sorrow had cared for the tiny mewling kits until they were old enough to fend for themselves, then disappeared. It was like she had vanished off the face of the earth as well. During all this, the memories hardly skimmed the barrier of Scorpion's mind. She could hardly even remember Fall, the gentle creamy white she cat with livid glowing eyes. Much like Scorpion's own red orbs, despite the fact there was not relation between them.
Come back to earth... She blinked with a start, embarrassment flooding into her face as she realized she had gone off into her own world to relive the memories. She stared back into his glistening eyes , feeling as though he were reading her emotions like a book. And, she pondered, If he's reading me, can he she the new page I've just begun? It was a strange feeling, staring at his face, she felt as though she were a naughty child peeking under the wrappings of her Christmas present. She felt like she was eavesdropping on something private. The static between their two gazes was growing, and Scorpion could feel her fur standing on end. After what seemed like several moons, she dropped her stare to the ground, examining a piece of moss with sudden interest.
Each word that came from the toms mouth burned loudly in her ears, each very clear and unscathed. The sensation wasn't such a burn, as the thunder pounded in her head did, it was hard to describe, a tingling that continued up her spine yet, it wasn't so much of a tingle, its was smoother...She shook her head whispering nonsense under her breath, finally looking back up at his face to respond. " Well, seeing as there's not much else to do, I guess it will be alright to come with you..." She trailed off, glancing curiously up at him for his reaction. Was that a ghost a smile she saw, looming over his lips? She had, or so she thought, cleverly disguised her words in an attempt to hide that although they had just met, there was nothing she'd rather do.
What a strange feeling...What would her father say? Talking with a clanner...tsk, tsk. After all, Shadowclan had been the first clan he planned to attack. She winced at his voice in her head, scolding her with words that scalded her mind. She desperately pushed them away as she began to talk again. " Well, It seems you know who I am, But what is your name?"

The ghostly smile than broke out into a stunning flash of brilliant white as he tasted the embarassment hiding in Scorpion. It was a taste unlike any other. It wasn't exactlly bitter, but it wasn't sweet, either. It tasted like unsweetened chocolate. Delicious and revolting, but unable to stop feeling. The same, odd tingling sensation ran up Magmakit's spine and he wondered what the reason for it was. Odd... He blinked very slowly and laughed quietly as he heard the double meaning behind her choice of words. "Well, seeing as there's not much else to do, I guess it will be alright to come with you..." But Magmakit felt her not really say to herself...But realized to herself that she would rather do nothing else...But why did he feel the same? Was it because this was an easier way to getting to Meer? Was it the thrill of danger that he felt at the sight of that dangerous fang? Or was it how mesmerizing her eyes...her fur was...? Stop thinking silly things, you fool! And just start walking! Cavernkit is waiting for you! But he couldn't help but tell her who he was. "I am Magma..." he paused. Not sure whether to tell her he wasn't an apprentice yet. "kit," he finished glumly. Hopefully, Scorpion wouldn't know the way Clan names worked. "The son of Fireice, the deceased ShadowClan warrior, and Tanshadow, the ex-ThunderClanner." Without another word, but with a smiling nod, he turned and headed towards his mother's grave. Scorpion Loner
How strange...this feeling...up her spine, filling her head. How hard to describe, she had never felt it before, had she? It was like running faster then she ever had before, the wind slipping over the smooth contours of her face, it was a feeling of freedom, yet at the same time it was a fright that she would trip or slam into a tree trunk, a deep anxious nagging that tugged at the back of her mind. It was like she had swallowed a mouse full of maggots, yet there was no pain as they squirmed about in her stomach. Yes, that was it, she must have ate a piece of crowfood, something she hadn't realized had gone bad...But even as she said the words in her mind, she knew it couldn't be true, everything she had eaten was fresh caught, and the sour smell of decay hadn't touched her nose in quite some time.
The flash of his brilliant white teeth as the was like the jagged lightning bolts that pierced the sky, leaving the image indented into her mind. Now she was fighting against herself to keep a smile from molding into her own black lined lips. Her maw parted slightly, then shut down with such force that you could hear her teeth clinking back together in her mouth. How embarassing. Trying to keep the skin under her fur from glowing hot and red, she slowly began to work her way forward, lifting her tail as if to beckon that she was ready to walk. She stared at the ground, stepping over the puddles as raindrops rippled across the surface, mirroring her dark scarlet eyes. It startled her, how delicate and pretty she looked. She was like a rose, you'd have to pass through her claws and thorns to get to the vulnerable petals.
She looked over at Magmakit. It was strange, he looked so grown up a kit, or was it the wisdom beyond his years that shone in his eyes that made it seem so? Perhaps Scorpion was so tiny that kits seemed large to her? The thought was revolting, and she flexed her fanged tail to reinsure her of her fatality. " Your name is Magmakit? You look to be older then a kit, about how many moons old are you?" She let her velvety smooth voice drift off into a question before glancing back over at the vibrant orange tom. The rain seemed to cause a ghostly aura to envelope him as it pattered off Magma's slickened pelt. Oops, she realized she might have examined his fur too long and scolded herself. She was acting so silly, so unlike herself.
But of course, this new page was going to take some time to get used to. Did normal cats act so naive and oblivious as she was now? Scorpion paused to nibble at her lip. She wasn't sure if she could handle acting so innocent. A loud clap of thunder seemed to crack in her ears. The noise startled her so much, she leaped straight into the air, fur bristled and tail curled overhead. As she tumbled back to the ground, she realized how silly she must have looked, eyes wide and shocked. She sat up quickly, licking her fur down, although the rain had already done the job. If her ears had ever glowed so red, it was now as a wave of embarrassment flooded her like a tide. " So..uh..Where do we happen to be heading to?"

The odd feeling crawled up even more on Magmakit's spine. It was unpleasant in a way, but he liked the warm feeling it gave him. So pure, it felt. But he couldn't shake off the dark thoughts about it. He slightly shivered as it slowly halted and then ran back down his spine all of the way to the tip of his tail. It now warmed every part of him, making him feel like he could run to the edge of the world, to the rim of the sky, to the ocean that sparkled like Scorpion's eyes... Can you please stop doing that?! A thrill of amusement slithered through him as Scorpion almost attempted a smile back at him. It was an anomaly...That was it! Maybe he had overlooked something in his dreams with his mother about Scorpion? Maybe she was a key factor in... No, fool. You must get your head out of the stupid dreams and think about just your family and Clan. Look at her. Magmakit didn't know where that came from. His eyes slightly widened in shock and they glazed over again in that far away look of his. After a split second of a moment, he looked from the corner of his eye to see Scorpion staring at him. The sensation that he felt not long before increased in speed and spread like a good poison to every limb of his body. His nerves tingled and burned at the sight of her violent eyes. Remembering that she had asked a question, he opened his mouth to answer. "Y--" The clap of deafening thunder drowned out his voice. A bubble of laughter went up from his lungs and escaped his lips with a laugh that was clear and bright, like windchimes or the calls of small birds. But it was deeper in his tenor voice. That scene with Scorpion, in her frightening beauty, all wide-eyed and shocked, made Magmakit laugh even more. He collapsed onto the wet ground with more laughter that shook his body. None, including him, knew how much he wanted to let his feelings out like this. He never, ever, was this vulnerable. The beautiful laughter took over him again and he forgot all about Scorpion's questions. [/shadow]

Scorpion Loner
Her mother...had her mother ever done things like this to make Scorpion's father fall in love with her? Had she tripped up over her words and stare at the ground? Did she ever fall down and join in the laughter with Skull?..If Skull did laugh. Her father was always that way, eyes shadowed like the dark blue depths of the ocean, chilling you to the bone and crushing you under their pressure. There was no way to survive once you had gone beneath their depths, no way to escape. How could her mother fall in love with a murderer, a killer? Had she herself slaughtered innocent cats alongside the ghostly white tom who moved silently through the forest? Splattering dark burgundy blood across fallen leaves like it was red paint?
Oh, she was sure of it now. Sure that all her blood had risen to her ears. Scorpion could feel in sizzling just under her skin, boiling in her veins. Her slickened tan pelt was now unclothed in dark brown mud from her tumble. The rain pattered down, washing some of the thick, mucous-like substance further down her pelt. Magmakit was on the ground, literally rolling with laughter, maw held open with deep, musical chords being emitted from it. His fiery orange pelt was coated in mud like herself now, sticking to their fur like velcro. She paused to watch him for a moment, then with dawning realization, remembered it was her he was laughing at. She remembered it now, the deafening crack of thunder, and leaping straight through the air like a coiled spring.
"Hey!" She meowed, trying vainly to narrow her brow with seriousness. " Thats no-Thats nawww..." Too late. It was bubbling up inside her, brewing up until...A great burst of laughter exploded from her mouth like a volcano blasting out lava. Her fangs glistened in the rain, and she laughed so hard she choked on the rain when she attempted to withdraw her breath. Had...had she ever laughed so hard before? Had she hardly even laughed before, not counting the baleful chuckles as she cornered her prey? The answer? No, no, no,no NO. This was different, it was wonderful, filling her with a tingling sensation of satisfaction. Hopefully she didn't splatter her new page with a hysteria of laughter.
Finally, collapsed in a bed of moss, she rose, giggling slightly as she stood unsteadily, shimmying to get off tangled bits of moss that had stuck to her coat. Wow. Was that great of what. Her eyes glistened as a trace of moonlight seeped through the fissures in the clouds to stroke her fur and splash a sparkle of stardust into her deep red eyes. " Now," She began with mock seriousness." If your done your frolicking, would you mind explaining where we are headed to, oh Mr. Magmakit?" She drew her tongue over her pelt, but grimaced at the bitter, grainy taste of mud. Scorpion turned to look up into the bright toms eyes, feeling electricity sparking in her chest.

The laughter died away until it was just a little giggle and then silence. But the good kind of silence where there was no unpleasant embarassment or deathly silence between the two parties. It was the good kind where your heart stops beating with joy and time seems to stop for eternity even though it is only a heartbeat. Though the laughter died, Magmakit sensed a new presence...So warm...No! No way in StarClan! He couldn't! He shouldn't! You got to be kidding me. Some loyalty I have to the warrior code... But that all evaporated under Scorpion's intense stare. He returned the intense glance and felt the electricity from the passing storm still hanging in the air...Or was it from the storm, now almost gone? Or was it the way his eyes locked with hers under the silver moonlight? Magmakit's fur shed the stinking mud almost immediatly as he got up. In the moonlight and darkness, he was a soft glowing flame. A soft glow that matched the burning coals in his eyes. He did the same as Scorpion and shook the pieces of moss and excess drops of leftover mud off of his brilliant pelt. "Alright, I'll answer your questions Ms. Serious," he snickered. Throwing a smirk at Scorpion. "One: I am old enough to be an apprentice. It's just that I declined being one. In fact, I am about nine moons old. And two: We are heading to my mother's grave to speak with my brother, Cavernkit. I have a lot of explaining to do. You'll hear the rest of this extremely long story when we get there. Let me warn you, Cavernkit is very hostile and territorial. He might attack you." Let him try! he silently added to himself. [/shadow]

Scorpion Loner
Was this...was this what they called bliss? Where the moonlight seemed to be cast only upon the two of them, with a light that made her cheeks and ears burn as though she was filled up with hot coal embers? Or was it even the moon that was casting this light upon her, this light that enchanted and desensitized her like a deer staring blindly into the approaching headlights of a twoleg monster? A glimpse at the sky revealed a swarming mass that churned and grumbled like angry wasps that had been disturbed. Magmakit...It seemed as though a light, no matter how pale it was, was emitting from his fur, his eyes which burnt into her own burgundy red ones. The electricity that passed between the two intense stares was amazing, and she had to look away before her eyes cracked and shattered like a mirror under the pressure.
She had only met the flame-coloured tom and yet, it was like he was something hot she had touched and made an imprint on her, but instead of it being on her paw it was in her mind, a scar that would never heal, would never elude her. Glowing with heat like molten lava bursting out from a volcano, his fur attracted her to it like a venus fly trap does to flies with its sweet nectar. She was the fly, he was the plant. She was the mouse, and he was the trap. She was beginning to understand this strange, strange feeling now, beginning to predict the pacing of her heartbeats as he spoke in that honey sweet voice that curled around her ears, so sweet its hard to believe that it could actually be good for you. And was it good for you? Well, you never know unless you try. Scorpion's paws seemed to be pulling her towards him. She knew this feeling now.
It was love.
Not yet well developed, still a bud that would soon blossom into a full bloom flower. A magnificent flower, more colourful, more fragrant, more rare then any other normal flower you would find in the forests that the clans dwelled it. Each time she took a glimpse at Magmakit, she could feel the bud grow, the petals trying to thrust their way out from her heart, gradually tugging through the hard green shell. A look at his eyes, amber and glistening, a petal curling up. His fur, slickened by the rain, another petal bursting out, supposedly searching for water and sunlight, but in this case, love. But...If this cat could really sense emotions like it seemed he did then...suddenly the maggots in her gut started squirming again, wriggling around and nibbling on the casing of her stomach.
If he could read feelings, then the way she was acting, there was almost no way he couldn't see what she was thinking. How could she fall in love so quickly? She had taken one step into the fog and had fallen straight down, not slowly descending a hill. She didn't even know if he liked her a bit yet. How foolish. Suddenly, the cold from the rain penetrated her warm barrier and every part of her body was cold, freezing, and shivers ran through her as the rain battered her breath as it fogged the air ahead of her. She began to take in his words, in stead of only the rich sound of them. Let me warn you, Cavernkit is very hostile and territorial. He might attack you." She grinned, her teeth illuminated as a flash of lightning striked in the distance. " Oh, he should probably know better."
One glimpse of her tail arching over her head, fang curled and beading with amber venom, and its easy to tell why you wouldn't want to annoy this she-cat.

Fire lanced through his veins, gripping him with a perilous feeling that made the heart sputter and shake in anticipation. So pure and blazing. So glorious and unrelenting. It was heavenly in all of its glory as Magmakit realized at the same time as Scorpion did. Love. So beautiful. She was more lovely than any female he had ever laid eyes on. He couldn't quench this thirst in his heart to protect her and love her until she died. He wouldn't stop fighting until his or her last breath. He wouldn't...couldn't leave her alone to die. He cringed at the thought or idea of harming her. Not even for her own good. Such a selfish creature he was for not ever wanting to let her go. Disgusting. But he didn't care, he didn't give a thought to that. He was like the Earth orbiting around the Sun. The light that fed his flower--orange and bold--to its full beauty. The fire that gave him warmth just to look at. Never again would he feel pain in her company. Never again would he fear the future. As long as she was in it. But there was something that stumped him as he realized this in a eternal heartbeat. He couldn't feel her emotions. He couldn't taste the budding love that was there just a moment ago.... It was something better. He could hear her thoughts. He could look into her precious mind. Magmakit's heart gave a scream as he saw her trembling. Without listening to her words, only the musical melody of them that sang in key with his beating heart, he pressed up against her. Letting his internal, constant heat emanate from him into her captivating fur. He couldn't believe this. He couldn't...concieve how this sprung up from embers long dead. How? How could he love something so beautiful? [/shadow]

She had always been a selfish creature, and it seemed now was no different. She was craving for Magmakit like she used to crave for the smell and taste of blood gliding over her tongue and down her throat, but no! This yearning was different from that, it wasn't vile delight churned together with malice, this was different! The smell of sweet lillie's seemed to be clinging, not in her nose but in her mind. Peaches and cherries, orchid blossums and apple tree petals. This feeling was a mixture of all that was sweet and soft, silky and beautiful. Never had she experianced anything like this before... It was an addiction, she couldn't turn away, couldn't forget because he would always be there, in the front of her mind, tapping against her skull like knocking on a window pane.
Thunder was cracking, rumbling like two metal sticks clanging together, vibrating up her limbs and quivering through her fur. The angry grey clouds were beginning to depart however, barren patches of glowing sky seeping through the ever widening fissures, forcing through with a myraid of colours that highlighted Scorpion's light tan pelt. Sunset. It would figure that at a moment like this, the horizon would explode with such a variety and intensity of colours that it even rivaled Magmakit's vibrant lava-like fur. Speaking of which...Scorpion could hardly hold in her gasp as she rested her dark burgundy gaze upon his fur. The beams of pink, orange and plum danced on Magma's fur, vertually transforming him into a aurora cat, the wetness on his fur reflecting the light with a feirce vividry.
The thing that really stunned her was that he was moving towards her, locking her in his eyes like someone had chained her head that way and swallowed the keys. The cold that was frosting the tips of her pelt was suddenly unbarable, like she had been tossed into a snow bank. She needed t hat fire to warm her, she relished it so badly. Her own paws were tracing a moss path through the ground, leaning ever so slightly into his direction. She could feel Magmakit's fur brushing against hers, the heat rolling of him was vitalizing, refreshing, a hot cocoa after a prance in a blizzard. Now he was pressed against her, their wet pelts a magnetic pull towards eachother. A small gasp excaped her lips. This was...amazing. Never had she been so close to someone except her father. And his love was different then this. This was smoldering.
She barely noticed the tall pine trees and juniper bushes, raindrops sidling down the narrow needles to cascade to the ground. The rain had eased to a steady drizzle, the type that brushed your fur like a paint brush. Her eyes were glued to his face, her neck arched back so she could fully look into his amber eyes. She felt punny, delicate beside him, pressed against the rippling muscles in his shoulder. She was a glass figure, so fragile, just a tap could shatter her into infinite peices. Scorpions sigh was heartfelt, put not desisarilly good. " My father is going to kill me..." If he found out. She knew he would understand, after all, it seemed he could read her thoughts when he moved in to warm her like a wood stove. If only she could keep this fire burning when her father tried to dose it.

"And let the loves dance in their grace... And watch as they laugh in your face... You think 'How could this be?' Why, let's just say it was destiny..."

Yes. This was love. Yet sweeter. More pure than the purest soul. More delicate than a hummingbird's wings. Undescribable. That's what it was. Yet Magmakit wanted to put his love for Scorpion in words. Turn it into a tangible thing that even she could hold in her delicate tan paws. He wanted to build temples and altars for his love beside him. But what could a young fool like him do for his other half of his heart. Nothing. And that's what depressed him. Trembling with the darkness of the unknown and the uncontainable joy spilling from his full heart, he leaned his head down to look into Scorpion's eyes. "A name such as that is unworthy for such a goddess I behold with thy eyes." Though cats knew nothing of Greek mythology, Magmakit could think of goddesses that fit his Scorpion majestically. He leaned closer so that his lips were at her ear. "Come. Let us end these lives of misery and pain. Let us run away from our worries. Forget them, my love. Forget them all. We will never, ever have to worry about bloodshed or war again..." [/shadow]

Scorpion Loner
You couldn't really say that before, the slender she-cat had been abstemious, but she had been neglecting herself of one thing, and a thing that you couldn't just find like some tangible item. It was like good food, or alcohol, some people wanted more and more of it until a point where it wasn't special anymore, until it wasn't something so gently cherished in ones hands. Love was all new to Scorpion, and she liked it. Whatever rules, burdens and strife that came with it she would welcome, besides, it couldn't be worse then the troubles that she had been released to before hand. Death, blood and morbid ways had been her life before this, gore and pain a part of every day. It had been something she didn't think she could rid herself of.
Not until now though.
Not until this.
Because pressed against Magma's warm body, his sweet breath wreathing her nostrils and warming her face, being in the most protective embrace, she didn't care what she would have to do, she didn't care who she would have to face, she didn't care unless it let her and Magmakit be together in harmony. She would defy her father, her brother and her sister, name it and she would do it. But at the same time there was pain, a small bit of her heart ripping and tearing with each purr, each gaze into his brilliant amber eyes. Because now she realized how precious each life might be to another cat, the pain of being ripped cruelly away from Magmakit was more then anything that could happen physically, and she couldn't believe that she could have done that to someone.
"A name such as that is unworthy for such a goddess I behold with thy eyes." "Come. Let us end these lives of misery and pain. Let us run away from our worries. Forget them, my love. Forget them all. We will never, ever have to worry about bloodshed or war again..." Magmakit's words swirled through her mind, the complexity and intensity of them much more then Scorpion could ever hope to say if she were to try and compose something similar. Somehow she found that thought...depressing, as though she could never audibly tell Magma how much he meant to her. That how already in the brief hour or so she had known him now, already his heart had woven threads into her own, and that if the strings had to be cut, it would be much to painful for her to bear. She wanted to put this all into words, but her mouth wouldn't budge, and so her purring was the only noise to rise from her throat.
The storm had ceased, rain no longer torrented down the young cats pelts, no longer plastering it to Scorpion's lithe frame. The very last, dieing rays of sunlight were now tracing their last lingering fingers of light over Magmakit's face, and Scorpion stopped to watch the glow reflecting off the vivid orange fur. Her whiskers twitched warily and she found her voice, managing to squeak out, '' You have quite a...way with words." Her breath rushed out, hanging in the cold, nipping air. She squinted her round burgundy eyes over the horizon as darkness melded with the silhouettes of trees in the distance. " Are we almost there Magmakit?"Scorpions paws itched as the sticky mud clung to her paw pads, and her muscles longed to sit down on cool moss.

"And let the lovers dance in their grace... And watch as they laugh in your face... For you think 'How could this be?' Why, let's just say it was destiny..."
/\Magmakit/\
Scorpion's scent of lilacs and honey, of abrosia and pine resin...Clouded his head so that he could think of nothing than her. Of her scent and her vivid eyes. She was so beautiful that Magmakit was on the verge of believeing that maybe she wasn't there. A figment of his imagination that brought upon the emotions of pain he had been hiding in himself for so long. His heart beat in tune with Scorpion's as her velvet thoughts on her life and his being connected were like wine against his lips. He drank all of this in greedily. Oh, how he wished he could put his feelings into words perfect enough to...just paint a picture good enough to get his heart across. Emotion flowed from his heart and soul. His whole body was alive. Like being reborn! So beautiful! Magmakit wanted to sing poems and tell of epic tales of how he and Scorpion will touch the stars and hold the horizon in their paws. How they will contain the stars in their intertwined tails! How even StarClan will look away in respect at the sight of the lovers beneath their powerful gaze. "You have quite a...way with words." In response, he brought his nose to rest gently upon Scorpion's. Their eyes burned like eternal coals as the electricity boiling beneath his fur ran through his paws. "Words are nothing compared to what I feel for you, my Scorpion." "Are we almost there, Magamkit?" The rustling of fronds of braken and twigs scraping against each other brought Magamkit's attention reluctantly from the angel next to him. "Here come's Cavernkit."

Scorpion Loner
"Words are nothing compared to what I feel for you, my Scorpion."
Words. Nothing compared to what he felt for her? this felt like a dream in Scorpions mind, seeing as though words may be nothing compared to what she felt for him, they were making her head feel as light as a hawk feather as the symphony of words drifted through her ear canal, harmonious and wonderful in the way his deep, rich voice forced them all together. Yes. this was sweet. Like the freshiest of dew, or the taste of a clover blossom, this was the sweetest of things that Scorpion had ever felt, and it lifted her heart till it bumped against the barrier of her rib cage. Wonderful and rich in ever way, she could take as much as she wanted, and yet her oasis would never run dry. Could it really be true? could the meaning of his words be possible in the way that the meant?
This...this feeling. It was like indulging herself in something glutinous, and fattening, and yet instead of being bad for her, clogging her blood flow, it seemed to let her truly feel her own heartbeat for the first time, now she could truly see the trees and scenery around her for the first time, no longer was everything wreathed with blood and darkness that threatened to send her to a well deserved grave. He was the lantern, his bright flame of a pelt guiding her through the darkness and into the light. He had already made a mark on her, the warmth and glow of his fur... she could no longer face the cold without it eating at her pelt. She was used to this now, and ripping it away would leave her to bleed slowly until she had nothing more to keep her running.
"Here come's Cavernkit."
Scorpion tipped her ears forward, feeling a chill travel swiftly up her spine and to the tip of her long streaked tail. Her burgundy eyes glanced worriedly at Magmakit, and despite the deadly venom that was within reach at the point of her tail, she felt helpless, pushing herself closer into the muscular tom. Perhaps it was because this cat was related to him, and Scorpion didn't want to harm anyone close to Magma, she didn't want to risk hurting him in his connections with other cats, his kin. Because taking out one brick can topple a whole building, and she didn't want that to happen. " Magmakit..." She tried to keep the fear from rising in her song bird voice, but it seemed to rise up like bile in her throat. She shook her head lightly, staring forward into the shadows, searching for the shape of a cat.

[shadow=gray,left,200]Cavernkit
The large, feral seeming tom hissed in frustration as a bramble scratched his gray nose. He scowled and smoothed his thick, striped pelt quickly with his rasping tongue. In many ways, he looked most like Fireice. The thick, long pelt... The round eyes with the constant slits... The way his tail twitched whenever he was aggrivated... Which was almost all the time. Magmakit's brother's ears erected as he heard the voice of a she-cat... On his territory! And she sounded like that of a bumbling moron of a rogue or loner! "Magmakit..." A snarl rose in the back of Cavernkit's throat. This was ludicrous! Why in the world did his bee-brained of a brother have him come out here to meet an outsider?! Cavernkit's steely gray eyes narrowed and he pushed the rest of the way through the intertwined brambles to see his brother--much like the brambles still clinging to his dark pelt--intertwined with another cat. Shock hit his stomach like a wrecking ball and it took all of his self control not to start screeching profanities and curses at the two lovebirds. I always knew you were an idiot! "What the hell is wrong with you?" he hissed as he stalked up to his brother. "Hanging out with this..." he glared at Scorpion. "...This piece of filth?!" His cold gaze rested upon the two infatuated cats. The hatred that burned there was cold and ripping. Shredding their hearts apart under that imposing stare. It burned holes in Magmakit's heart as it ravaged at his inner soul. Cavernkit was losing himself to the hate that ate slowly at his spirit every second that was ticking by.[/shadow] [shadow=orange,left,200]/\Magmakit/\
Magmakit sighed as he breathed in Scorpion's scent. Her desensitizing scent made his head spin and he laughed jovially. Though Magmakit could feel Scorpion's intense, fearful emotions boiling at his touch, he just couldn't seem to feel the danger of Cavernkit. Sure, he knew how dangerous his brother could be. He knew that there was some other worldly demon that was eating his soul! But did he care? No. All that mattered was that Scorpion was with him. And that was all that mattered. The slight pressure of her body being pressed up closer to him made Magmakit wonder whether or not he would ever be able to separate from her for any period of time. Would he have the strength if it was for her own good? No. That was the answer. He barely noted his brother's prescence. "What the hell is wrong with you? Hanging out with this...This piece of filth?!" Magmakit growled, a low gutteral growl that would have sent a seasoned warrior hiding. His orange eyes flared and he took a menacing step towards his kin. Anger laced his body and his claws scraped against the ground audibly. "What was that, brother?" his voice was calm and alluring, but it held a note of velvety danger to it. Like a snake would as it charmed its prey.[/shadow]

S C O R P I O N
Breath in,..breathe out. Try and ignore him, that cat standing there, the one with calignous eyes, staring so maliciously at me...would it really hurt just to go back to the old ways for a min-no. I can't. I can't hurt Magmakit's brother! No matter how much of a jerk this guy is...he is kin to Magmakit, and I just can't hurt Magmakit! Scorpion sucked in her breath, holding it captive there in her mouth, not allowing it be be freed from her lungs. She held it there, even when she felt her skin grow numb and her lungs shriveled feebly as they aches longingly for a breath of air. All the oxygen had been sucked from it, and it tasted stale and dry in her mouth, but she would hold it there. Hold it until she could not longer bear it, because is she took in a fresh breath of that sweet, sweet air, the scent of her enemy would no doubt overcome her, and then there would be no going back.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" "Hanging out with this." "...This piece of filth?!"
Scorpion couldn't resist it, the stale air streamed from her sinuses, and her lungs expanded involuntarily, filling her mouth with the richness of air. But of course, there it was. A niche in the purity of the moment. The scent of Cavernkit. Compared to the sweet, honey-like aroma of Magmakit, this was a foul, baleful bile that had to be the concoction of some rotten creatures heated all together. It choked Scorpions throat and churned her stomach. But besides all this, it was so familiar, so...welcoming. It reminded her of the scent of home, the horrid cats that lurked in the loner terras, the horrid thing she had once been... It was overcoming her now, she could feel it, a blankness that washed over her vision like someone was erasing her painting, leaving only a barren canvas that stretched as far as her sight allowed.
Scorpion fought against it, pushing up at it with her mind, trying to pull through it and out back into the world, back to the brief and irrevocable moment that Scorpion and Magmakit had been alone...but it was no longer there. There was the dark presence, a alternation in this wonderful dusk, dawn, whatever position the moon was in. She focused on this dark blotch in the bleach white, and strangely, the mist cleared away like a vacuum had sucked it up, it cleared out, and soon she could make out everything again. The bushes, the sky, it was there again.
Suddenly, words rushed through her, and out her mouth before she could stop them. " Well, If Magmakit can have such a vile, rancid, maggot-infested piece of crowfood like you for a brother, I would say that hanging out with a scrap of filth such as myself would rather...acceptable compared to that." If Scorpion couldn't tear him apart with her claws, the least she could do was try and tear him apart with her tongue.

.shadows fill an empty heart. .as love is fading. .from all the things that we are. .but are not saying. .can we see beyond the scars. .and make it to the dawn.
[shadow=gray,left,200]Cavernkit
It was there. The hatred to any living thing. The satanic power that grew and grew and grew until in could no longer be contained in such a small body as a cat. This hate and power was unreasoning and unknowing. So that it was unexpected and anything could happen in the split second of the everlasting time. It. Burned. The Hate literally burned in his veins and his vision. He could hear the irises of his eyes spitting and hissing as the fire in him scalded his retenas. (oh the pain) It cackled as it ripped apart his bones and cast them aside. The Hate clouded all sense in him and cut his mind from his body. (oh i hate him i hate him) And it commanded him--no, controlled him... (!!!I WANT HIM DEAD!!!) Within an instant his long claws unsheathed and he sprung at his brother. There was no such thing as sense or kin with Cavernkit know. It was all about the blood of those (filthy disgusting creature that has no reason to exist he should burn forever i will make him pay) cats' in his jowls and dripping down his fur. A wordless cry of undeniable and unearthly rage ripped free from his chest and cut into the air like the aftermath of the already forgotten storm. [/shadow] .change the colors of the sky. .and open up to. .the ways you made me feel alive. .the ways I loved you. .for all the things that never died. .to make it through the night. S C O R P I O N
Scorpion could see Cavernkit's shoulders tense, his dark, onyx eyes narrowing. There was a certain feel to the air, like before a storm, everything calm and tranquil. Scorpion could literally see the hate and rage wavering away from the tom's body, rising and dispersing into the cold morning air. She knew this feeling well, being the daughter of Skull, it had been a almost daily occurrence, the aura of energy building in a cat before they sprang. There was a twitch in her furled tail, the adder fang tip glistening threateningly in the dim light of the moon in the sky. She could feel her short, tan fur bristling away from her body, clinging in spikes here and there where her pelt was still wet from the rain, and mud plastered like mortar to her legs and sides.
Then it happened. She could sense it, see it. Everything slowed down, almost to a halt as Cavernkit gathered his legs under him and lept toward Magmakit with a bloodcurdling scream of rage that burned the insides of Scorpions sensitive ears. She didn't feel her own legs gathering beneath her, or the wind blowing through her fur as she soared through the air. All she could feel was the hot, fiery blood pounding through her veins, and a fierce protectiveness filling her. She didn't want one measly hair of Cavernkit to touch Magmakit, and there was a faint spark of morbid joy and delight as she felt the claws meant for Magma dug into her fur and skin, releasing a thin trickle of a deep red, an almost exact colour of her burgundy eyes.
The pain was hardly noticeable, all she could feel was giddiness, a strange, queer glee at the confrontation of a battle. She hit the ground, her paws skidding in the soft brown mud, and suddenly everything was at regular speed again. Magmakit was unharmed, every hair of his luminous orange pelt in the exact place that they should be, not stained by blood. Scorpion drew her tongue over her lips unconsciously, staring balefully at Cavernkit, a grotesque grin lighting up her facade. " Your gonna have to do alot better then that if you want to actually leave a mark." She sneered, feeling a familiar surge of adrenaline. Just like the old times.

.but you see, it's not me, it's not my family. .in your head, in your head they are fighting. .with their tanks and their bombs. .and their bombs and their guns. .in your head, in your head, they are crying.
Time was at a complete standstill. Unlike what Scorpion saw, to Magmakit, it was blissful standstill. The wind stopped thrashing the trees, Cavernkit's lips halted over his teeth, Scorpion stood like a stone in her beautiful radiance. He knew what was coming before it happened. Cavernkit would lunge at him, Scorpion would try to leave Magmakit unharmed. But he was not going to let Scorpion put herself in danger. Not with Cavernkit losing it. Like lightning. Only faster. In the split second of time where time envelopes itself and releases what we call seconds. What we call... The end of life. But Magmakit was faster than that and shielded Scorpion and lashed out at his brother. He's not my brother, Fireice. I swear upon it that his blood will leave his body. But not until later. Let's leave him a warning. The two brothers, one of fire and earth, the other of darkness and shadows, clashed in midair. The resounding crash that followed was the mother of thunder. It echoed all across the land and brought forth fear to the Clans. The lightning that followed was muted in its light because an unearthly radiance came from Magmakit as he battled his brother. Every time they collided, more thunder erupted from their powerful forms and shook the earth. Trees around them shivered and mighty boulders shattered into rubble. "I will rip your throat out one of these days, Cavernkit!" roared Magma, his lips drawn back over his teeth in a terrifying symbol of war. (die die die die die die die die) thought Cavernkit. He spoke no words and continued to fight with his kin. His brother. The lone blood of Fireice. Madre de Estrellas. Time itself erupted all around them and swallowed all sound into it besides the screeches and roars and thunder. This battle was a storm within itself. It was the release of hate. A powerful thing that was to be feared and avoided.
.in your head, in your head. .zombie, zombie, zombie. .hey, hey, hey. what's in your head. .in your head. .zombie, zombie, zombie. .hey, hey, hey, hey.

Scorpion stared blankly as Magmakit soared infront of her to protect her from Cavernkit. Her first reaction was a flash of annoyance. Doesn't he remember I'm the daughter of a loner? Of Skull? But she quickly pushed it away, feeling a quilty pang that she could even think so scornfully about the bright orange tom. She blinked balefully at Cavernkit, her mind blank and confused, what had happened? She had thought she'd lept in the way to protect Magmakit, but...it seemed it wasn't what really happened. Her tan fur was fluffed up as she watched the battle with worried eyes, hoping to get a chance to jump into the battle and get her chance to flay that crow-food that was called Magmakit's brother, but so far, there was nothing but the screech of angry war, and the blur of dark and light fur.

ShadowClan Kit/Apprentice .but you see, it's not me, it's not my family. .in your head, in your head they are fighting. .with their tanks and their bombs. .and their bombs and their guns. .in your head, in your head, they are crying. Magmakit could hardly pay attention to Scorpion while he raged on with his brother. The Hate was black and vile on his tongue as it, too, tried to push itself into his head. He would not let it win, not even in the heat of battle. It had consumed Cavernkit and destroyed any love that was possible within him, but Magmakit wouldn't let that happen. Not when he had Scorpion and was so close to overpowering StarClan! Never! The darkness will not cloud his sense and take away anything. "Why battle on, brother? When I will eventually kill you! You have put the prophecy at stake and threatened my beloved! I will rip your throat out and toss it aside--" His sentence was cut off as the larger tom pounced at him. It wasn't really a pounce, but a lunge. This was no playfight. It was a hunt. But Magmakit wasn't going to kill Cavernkit here. Or Cavernkit killing him... No. Not yet. A roar erupted like all of the earth screaming as one as Magmakit's teeth sank into his kin's throat. But he didn't snap his neck. The orange tom only raked his claws along his brother's--No, his enemy's--belly. Cavernkit wailed a wordless cry and sprang away. No. This would not be the real battle. Not yet. .in your head, in your head. .zombie, zombie, zombie. .hey, hey, hey. what's in your head. .in your head. .zombie, zombie, zombie. .hey, hey, hey, hey.{{Lyrics from Zombie by The Cranberries}} ShadowClan Kit/Apprentice .feels like the weight of the world. .like God in Heaven gave me a turn. .don't cling to me, I swear I can't fix you. .still in the dark, can you fix me. .free fall, free fall, all through life.Cavernkit was not in his sane mind. Thoughts that could not be actual words hammered at his skull. The night tom could hear it inside his head as The Hate pounded with nails and hammers and kinves... (dear GOD!!!) With a scream and a thrashing, Cavernkit did his best to rid of The Hate. But it wouldn't budge. After a moment, though, it lessened its attack on Cavernkit and gave him enough time to speak. The tom raised a trembling paw and wiped blood away from his mouth. The red liquid seeped from his various wounds and dripped with a revolting plink! onto the already soaked soil. "You will never kill me, Magmakit," he spat. "But I can assure you that our time to release the full force of our hate will come. When I can really satisfy The Hate. My masssster," he hissed with a demented smile. A light that was not at all beautiful glowed in his cold eyes. He could have once felt a love that was prosperous, but now it was ripped and shredded. With nothing to spare. Consumed. .if you love me, then let go of me. .i wont be held down by who i used to be. .he's nothing to me. .feels like the weight of the world. .like all my screaming has gone unheard. .and oh i know you don't believe in me. .safe in the dark, how can you see.

S C O R P I O N
Confused, disorented, and head throbbing painfully Scorpion watched as the two brothers fought, just whirs of an orange glow or darkness was the only thing she could make out. She could feel the anger and emotions scorching the air like some sort of acidic mixture, it burned in her head and dissolved away all sensible thoughts, leaving only wordless pictures that weren't even quite images, but vanished into mist when she tried to focus on them. Then suddenly, the battle had ended. Blood splattered against the murky pools of mud water as Cavernkit was defeated, the shadowy tom's pelt was slight frayed, while his brothers still shone gloriously, even in the opaque light that shine down upon the scene.
"You will never kill me, Magmakit," he spat. "But I can assure you that our time to release the full force of our hate will come. When I can really satisfy The Hate. My masssster," The grin that spread across Cavernkit's facade was not one that lit up his face. It shadowed it rather, demented and malicefull, like one who had spent a few to many nights in a cell. A jail. However,it didn't frighten Scorpion. It was rather welcoming, it was her old smile, the one that used to mutate her face as she stood posed for battle. It was theface her father welcomedherwith each time he saw her. The wasn't any jolly intentions behind it, only morbid, racid glee that one gets after their mind had gone past the line of okay, and into mentally disfigured.
"Man...you are one messed up cat." Scorpion hissed through her teeth, her scarlet eyes glaring hatefully at Cavernkit, seething as though she were trying to melt holes through his fur and make blood spout from those hollows. Her tan fur was bristled up, and the dark stripes over her ribs were well visible, like some sort of cage bars that would keep her vital organs from spilling out. Butno, they were only markings. Scorpion longed to once again curl against Magmakit's lush orange fur, but with Cavernkit, with the enemy, so close at hand she didn't dare move incase the mentally unstable(lol) tom-cat leapt. She didn't want to risk on more scratch in Magma's skin, and so she stood rigidly, legs planted into the ground and back arched.
