F-F-F-Flail,,
the new face of failure, prettier and younger but not any better off
Flailstar picked his way through his territory, enjoying the marshy feel of the grass and how he felt as though he knew every single blade that had lived or died. He'd been leader for nearly a season now. Although his heart still ached for his old clan leader, he was honestly taking pridei n his new position. He had nine lives, a strong clan with full bellies, and... And that was it. He loved his clan, but he was still lonely. He didn't have any best friends. Growing up in Shadowclan, he had many friends, but his best friend had been crushed on the thunderpath. Flailstar shook his head and stopped thinking about it. He had a ceremony to do when he awaoke the next morning. [ahhh shortness. let me get muh groove on later ;P]

{ YOUR PRESENCE STILL LINGERS HERE } { AND IT WON'T LEAVE ME ALONE } A fragile, sandy figure slowly walked acrossed the mores of shadow. Mud stuck like a leach to her delicate paws and the creature's forest green eyes were dulled with exhaustion. The tail of the sandy beast dragged behind it, gathering mud along either side of it. The creature's mouth was filled with a fat water vole, it's dead eyes staring at the shadows that suffocated the world around them. The creature's ears perked when the sound of another creature. Slowly the feminine beats dropped it's kill and began to stalk forward. Each slender leg places perfectly in front of the other. Making the sound of nothingness. Perfection on legs, was this beast, moving oh-so elegantly.
"Flailstar?"
Fragmentpaw trotted out of the underbrush; her sandy pelt smeared over with mud. The she-cat gave her leader a questioning look. Most of the time, cats were accompanied by others. Fragmentpaw herself had been hunting along side other cats, but was split up after she caught the water vole. Questions pulled through the she-cat's thoughts; but she was able to keep her mouth shut- seeing that an apprentice look her shouldn't question a leader. Glancing up, Fragmentpaw's green eyes narrowed questioningly. As if she was trying to read the tomcat's thoughts. "It is very late" she commented, trying her best not to ask a direct question.

F-F-F-Flail,,
together in all these memories, but i only see you
Flailstar turned his gaze to see one of the apprentices. Fragmentpaw. He knew her, and watched after her a lot. Mostly because she wasn't born in Shadowclan. She had come there on her own. Her mother was the foul loner Meer, and her father was a psychotic cat, whose name he didn't even know. Nursery tales. Psh. Flailstar examined her catch, and nodded approvingly. He should have been hunting, but he couldn't be bothered. The clan had eaten so well recently, and he didn't want to interrupt his thoughts. Besides, he was so preoccupied he would probably just scare all the prey off. His eyes drew across her sandy figure, and realized that, although she was small and leonine, she was getting big. Warrior big. Her body was fully muscular. Flailstar silently cursed himself for not making her a warrior sooner. "Yes. It is late." He replied back simply, his gaze turning up to the pieces of moonlight he could see through the trees. There was barely any light that could get through, and none of it littered the ground. He was wrapped in shadows. Taking a deep breath, he switched back to look at the apprentice thoughtfully. "I know why I'm out here. Why are you? Are you a part of the patrol or are you sneaking off?" Flailstar, personally, didn't mind. So what if she wanted to get out? He wanted to get out too. But he knew that he would have to start enforcing rules if he was ever going to be respected. So far everyone had accepted him as leader, but even he found it hard not having their old leader around. Flailstar drew in another deep breath and sighed. " I suppose it doesn't matter. You're here now and I'll escort you back to camp in a while, but you need to stay with me if you're going to be out here." Flailstar made the decision she should stay with him. Her jaws were already full of prey, and her group wouldn't miss her, if she was with one. Windchaser had organized the patrols, so he honestly didn't know. Which he knew he should, but he couldn't change that now could he? He looked back at Fragmentpaw and waited for her to bombarde him with questions. He flicked his tail as a sign that it was ok. [ew. i don't like this post either. i need muse =/]
