The warm sun

Princess was sprawled out on the patio her limps stretched as far as they could, the warm sun glowed on her brightly flamed colored pelt. She was obvisously purring she seemed happy. Her twolegs lay inside watching the television. Princess chest rose and fell calmly her eyes held tightly together and her purr was loud and clear. She dreamt and dreamt, she finally slightly opened her eyes as she saw her twoleg come out and plant more plants in the garden, it was beautiful enough the way it was but they just added even more plants each day and year.

Princess got up and rubbed against her owners legs purring happily she the twoleg stroked her fur, saying something to her in a calm voice sweet and tenderly it kissed her on the forehead. She smiled and purred as it walked away smiling and whistling a tune like a bird. She got back onto the patio and curled up berathing in the fresh smell of flowers, she fell back asleep.

The tan kit mewed in fright at the appearance of a Twoleg, but as it walked away he became bolder and toddled over to the flame-colored she-cat resting on the porch. "Who're you?" the kit squeaked curiously.

Princess's eyes opened to see a tan kit just out of no-where. She smiled, "I'm princess" she purred and rose up her head to see the young kit more clearly, "Now what is a small kit like you, doing out here?" she smiled she was always welcome to others when they were kind towards her. "Do you have a name?" she asked and gave a happy purr as she sat up and looked down on the small tom-kit.

((His name is Ferra. Or Ferrakit, if you like. Adopting him would be very kind of you. His mother's dead and his father is inactive))

The small tom looked amiably up at the she-cat. "I'm Ferra!" He meant to say feral, as in wild, but his baby tongue couldn't form the word right. He sidled closer to Princess. "My real mama's gone to heaven. Will you be my pretend mama until my mama comes back?"

A pure black cat was standing on a fence pole, her light amber eyes looking emotionlessly at the young kit. The black cat was very beautiful, she had very small paws, a very long tail, and mediume lenth fur. The cat seemed almost to beautiful to be true. A soft gust of wind blew over the clearing- making the beautiful she-cat's pelt glitter and shine. "Come with me young one, not that kittypet"

The Black cat quickly jumped down from the fence pole, right in front of the young cat. Her amber eyes still glowed with nothingness. "If you come with me, I shall show you the true meaning of the word Freedom" she whisperd, he voice gental and beautiful. Like an angle was singing.[/glow]

Princess arched her back and hissed at shard, she quickly grabbed the small tan and white tom-kit. Her eyes glared at shard. "He'll be my responsability Shard!" she growled and set the small kit underneath her warm stomach. She licked Feralkit on the head comforting him, "What are you doing here now? didn't you want to go back to the wild..." she growled, her eyes never left shard's dark body. "You Devil! leave him alone, he needs someone to actually take care of him" she snarled Spitting at shard's face.

Princess's fur was like flames rising and burning what ever it could find her emerald eyes glowed in the warm sunlight that reflected in them. Her fangs showed as her lips were in a sharp snarl. She knew Shard had her own kits why did she want to take others when they come to princess even though she was young she was still able to have kits and take care of them, she just never found the right tom to father kits that she wanted to have.

[glow=black,2,300]Shard's amber orbs shone with emotionless and unreadable thoughts, "The world is full of harsh things, my dear. Fires that burn down even the tallest twoleg, Wind that can blow down a dog, Water that breaks threw the hearts of cats, and earth that can drain the sun drown place. Do you really belive that you can handle the responsibility of teaching this kit to deal with these threats?" Shard asked her voice cold and calm. Shard's beautifuly long tail curled around Shard's back leg.

The wind blew harshly agent's Shard's body. Making her look almost like a gost. Her black pelt rippled as if was the ocean. "Devil, a darkness so over welming in one's soul that it can not love. Darkness is not created that way, Darkness was created to protect. Calling one as me a devil is wrong, yet calling yourself who is to weak to protect the one they love. That is what I call a devil" Shard said in a small whispery voice.

Shard slowly sat down and wraped her long fluffy tail around her front paws. "Fighting is not what is needed now my friend, you can leave this kit to me and blood will not spill on this beautiful day" Shard started to lick her cheast.[/glow]

Princess Growled vicously, " get out of my yard, I'll call you a devil wether I want to or not, you don't belong, I'll teach this kit how to do everything someone weak and someone that can't love everything you couldn't!" she spat and picked up the kit turning around and heading through the door in her Two-leg nest, holding the kit and glaring at the black cat that sat outside in her yard, calling her someone that couldn't handle a kit, phsst, that she-cat had her own kits and never took care of them. Princess shot a furocious glare at shard and sat the kit at her paws licking it's forehead and flicking her tail up and down in an irritated motion.

(Muhahahaha....zzeee kit is MINE! oh and this isn't offensive Shard I think your Cat is Awsome it's just my charrie doesn't like how she handles things! )

[glow=blue,1,000]Fireice walked towards the Twolegs nests. The many smells of a twolegs' house made her lips curl back. And to think that I actually liked living her. Phsst! Fireice smelled the cloying smell of catnip and she smiled at old memories. She could remember when her three sisters, Fireice, and her brother used to play and roll in the catnip while their mother watched with her eagle-like eye. "Star! Don't hit your brother!" And Fireice recalled the scent of her mother. she couldn't really remember what her mother looked like anymore, but she couold recall her sweet and milky scent. Fireice lept unto a fence and heard a kittypet and an unusual-smelling kit on the back porch. She could feel the tension in the air and her fur prickled with unease. Who's here? Then Fireice scented Shard! Shard! Dear StarClan, she can't get a hold of that kit! Fireice cleared her throat nervously, just to make sure she was heard. Fireice could feel eyes turn on her and her skin grew hot under her pelt. "Greetings, Shard." Fireice then knew who the kittypet was, she never had met Princess, but she had heard of her before. "Morning, Princess." Fireice stared sightlessly at Shard while she spoke to Princess. "Is there any problem here, Princess?"[/glow][/color]

Ferra squealed and twisted in Princess' grip. He didn't know what was going on! The nice kittypet wanted him, but the highly interesting black cat named Shard wanted him too. The little tan kit was afraid. He didn't want anyone to get hurt. He just wanted a mother, for heaven's sake! "Moooommeeeee!" he cried, verging on tears of panic.

Princess quickly licked the small tan and white kit, "Shh...don't worry dear I'm here" she licked him smoothly licking the ruffled fur. She let out a comforting purr and walked back out picking up the kit once again and sitting right next to the open door.

Setting Ferrakit down again she quickly nudged him under her warm Orange fur. Quickly looking up she noticed fireice, Princess had known she use to live here and often visited but they never quit met fully. "Morning, Fireice..." she trailed off and then was getting ready to answer the question, "Everything is fine besides I have a loner in my yard trying to take away an innocent kit that is looking for something that...that this loner does not offer." She meowed strongly and looked Fireice in the eye and gave a sigh of relief that someone that use to live in her home and was more acquainted with Princess was here to 'help' a little around the place.

"Ferrakit, settle down, it's okay sweetheart, nothing is happening" she quickly licked him again purring sweet tunes of songs she had heard, more of a likeness to a lullaby.

[glow=blue,1,000]Fireice just sat there for a moment and jumped down into the garden. She walked to Shard and her pelt bristled with tension. "Shard, I don't want to fight you. Leave now and I might spare your life. It is Ferrakit's choice to stay or to leave...and he chose to stay with Princess." Fireice stalked past her and settled herself next to Ferrakit and Princess. Fireice joined in with Princess and broke out into an old lullaby her mother used to sing. "When morning comes and shadows fall. There will be one in all. I will stay with you, on and on. Never stray from me, dawn and dawn. I'll be with you, by your side. And I'll never sway, from your heart and mind."[/glow]

Princess looked at Shard her eyes glowing dimly now, she looked at her and stopped glaring, the things that princess sometimes said was hurtful but she did admire how the black she-cat was strong hearted, and minded, she must be a very powerful cat.

Ferrakit calmed at the voices of Princess and the one she called Fireice. He curled up against Princess' chest and stared with tired eyes at Fireice. "Good night," the kit murmured to the two and finally closed his eyes. All this dispute over a place for him to stay had made him sleepy.

Ferrakit opened an eye and his gaze flicked from Princess to Shard and briefly rested on Fireice. The kit, though only a few weeks old, was savvy enough to know that the result of this argument could ultimately decide his fate, present and future. However, he was as uninterested as he could be. Moving quietly and slowly, he slunk away from the fight and disappeared into the bushes.
