A perfect picture

DJ slept, breathing in slowly. His back rose up and down. The little dust colored kit was curled in a ball.

Meeka pondered over a butterfly. The bright object fluttered around. Her blue and orange eyes followed it. A white paw now attacked and the little creature moved no more. Meeka licked it, not good tasting. Then there was a rustle and she saw a cat atop the fence.

Ariona walked around, her heart pounding in her chest. Oh she would so get Kodiak! He pushed her over the edge with all his name-calling and remarks, and finally the small tortoiseshell kit lost it and ran away from her much larger brother so she could just explore, and get him out of her mind. Ariona was a pretty tortoiseshell she-kit, inheriting her mother's pelt. Her kit-blue eyes were changing to an orangeish amber, and she had only three legs.

Growling to herself, the kit walked on, furious at her brother. How could she get him back? As she pondered it, she didn't see the fence in front of her and bumped her head. Growling at the fence, she looked up. Wow, it was high. This must be that Twolegplace Kodi kept talking about. She looked to the right, then the left, then behind her. May as well take a look...

Ari jumped, not getting very high but she managed to hook her claws onto the fence. She struggled upward, her claws making a loud scraping noise, and finally she emerged on top. Below her, she saw two other cats, kittypets from the look of it, just laying there. Ari watched them, interest in her eyes.

Meeka's multicolored eyes flicked up, another cat sat ontop of the fence. "who- who are you?" She asked scared. She could smell loner scent on it and thought it was a rouge. "If you hurt me ...I'll get my brother to attack you!" She said, still scared out of her fur.

Ariona looked down on both cats. She was basically just as young as them, maybe even younger. She couldn't tell. Curiously, she jumped down the fence, landing on all three's. Ariona looked from Meeka to DJ. DJ, from the looks of it, was still sleeping.

Right now Ariona wasn't sure what to do. She could possibly try to get new recruits. Then again Ari was only a kit, so would it be considered recruiting? She pondered it for a moment. Maybe she could do a little recruiting...

"I mean you know harm," She purred.

DJ opened his eyes and blinked sleep away. The back of his eyelids were replaced by a young tortoiseshell cat. His bright, young orbs flew open. 'Wow. She is pretty.' Was the only thing on his mind. Then he saw Meeka, she was scared. He soon got angry then it faded away when the cat meant no harm. "I'm DJ." He meowed to the she-cat. DJ flicked a tan colored tail to his sister. "And that is Meeka." He said.

Meeka just listened to her brother.

Ariona simply purred again, mewing a quick "I'm Ari," Again, she wondered whether it would be a good idea to try and recruit them. They seemed... well, nice. Deciding that she should get a better look at them, Ariona hopped down into their garden, landing on all three legs.

Meeka's eyes widened as the cat came down, her heart beated faster as she saw the cat had three legs. The pretty Serval's fur stood on end and her body poured out the fear scent. "Why- why do you have three legs?'" she asked, quivering.

DJ's orbs followed the cat as she leaped down from the fence. His fur glowed in the sunlight and he stood silent.

Ari's eyes narrowed for a moment, before shrugging. "I was born like this," She replied, her voice almost like a growl. She wasn't trying to be mean, just more like come out of her shell. She wanted to prove she was worthy of BloodLust, the loner group she was in with her family.

"It runs in the family," She mewed, trying to sound a little cheerier. Her pretty orange eyes- which she was pretty glad that she inherited- scanned the two cats. Her eyes kept going to DJ for some reason, yet she didn't know why. Shaking her head, she decided to get back to buisness. She had to try and recruit the two cats. The only problem was, Ariona wasn't sure how. Deciding she'd just keep them talking, Ari smiled sweetly.

"So..." Her mind came up blank. She thought for a moment, then mewed, "Have you ever been out in the forest before?"

Meeka's eyes grew ever wider and she
started shaking. She hated the forest.
It contained rouges, birds, mean cats,
and loads of other dangers. Her tail
was now wrapped tightly around her.

DJ listened carefully and then glanced
over to Meeka." We were in there once,
thats when mum died." He said sadly.
The tan colored tom looked at his paws.
His eyes then flicked up to Ari. "Why?"
He asked her, a flick of his tail.

Ari looked at the two cats. She cast them a sympathetic look, and mewed, "I'm sorry to hear that." Now, she wasn't sure if she'd be able to bring them into the forest. However, she suddenly forgot about recruiting, and wanted desperately to comfort them. But Meeka looked terrified of her, and it made Ariona flinch ever so lightly.

To answer DJ's question, Ariona mewed, "Well... I wanted to know if you'd like to come to the forest with me. But I understand if you don't want to."

Meeka immediately puffed up to full size,
loner or no loner, she now hated this
dumb cat. First flirting with her brother,
now tricking them to go to the forest.
That was too much. Meeka's eyes
showed no fear only cold fury now.
She pushed her tiny claws out and
leaped towards Ari.

DJ just watched in fear one of
them would get hurt.

Ariona was ready, she ducked out of the way of Meeka's claws. Puffing out to full size, Ariona's own claws unsheathed, and she let out a hiss. Her brother's constant fights with her would now pay off.

"What is your problem?!" Ariona hissed, preparing to dodge another attack if she needed to. What was this cat's problem, why was she attacking her? All she wanted to know was if they wanted to go to the forest! Letting out another hiss, Ariona's eyes started blazing like a fire.

DJ got angry now. "Meeka STOP!" He yowled. His eyes were fuming as well as his pelt all puffed up. He leaped over to Meeka and held her down. "Quit!" He said sternly. DJ's orbs soared over to Ari. "We'll be going with you!" he meowed.

Meeka froze. We. Were. Going. With. You. The words brought bad memories. The rouge. Mother. Hurt. Death. "No!!!!!" Meeka screeched and cowered next to her brother. Her eyes stared into some blank spot. What was happening to her? "I'll go." She said, as if in a trance.

DJ ignored it and helped her over the fence. Once on the other side he stopped. "What was that?" he snarled at Meeka. She didn't answer, the silent treatment he supposed.

Ariona slowly relaxed. Her claws slid back into their sheathes, and her pelt lay flat again. She glared at Meeka once more. Why did she attack her? Shaking the thought from her mind, Ariona hopped up onto the fence, and then back down into the familliar forest. She walked forward a little, then looked back at DJ and Meeka.

"Well, ok then." She mewed, trying to calm down, "Let's see. We can explore a little bit, I suppose,"

Ari looked from Meeka to DJ, waiting for their responses.

As if someone controled her words Meeka spoke.
"We need new names." She meowed. He ears lay
flat against her head and she looked at some
invisible being. The young cat presently layed
down and purred. Her eyes opened and she
looked at the cats surrounding her, as if this
is where she always lived.

DJ looked oddly at his sister. His tan tail twitched.
"And how do you know all this?" he asked her.
This was weird, definetly, but Meeka hated rouges
and loners. How could she know all of this?

Ari's ears pricked and her eyes widened a little. She hadn't expected them to become loners, just explore. Confused, and happy to have new members to BloodLust, Ariona smiled softly.

"Your names are fine for now. If you wish to join BloodLust, you'll need to speak with Skull and Meer." Now Ari was confused. Meeka was acting... strange. She eyed her curiously, before very faintly shrugging it off for now.
