Doing absolutely nothing (Northkit, please post)

[Lightbreeze & Co. (Night)]

Lightkit circled her friend, a twinkle in her eye. When she was behing her, she sprang, landing on the silver kit's back. " Gotcha, Northkit!" She cried.

[Northland]

"For how long?" asked Northkit as she pulled Lightkit down with her and rolled away too pounce back on top of her again. "You're really good at this, not everycat can pin me!" She exclaimed, grinning broadly from ear to ear.

[Ferny]

Splashheart sat amusingly watching the two kits play from the otherside of the clearing

[Northland]

The fur along the back of Northkit's neck prickled, but not sharply, like it would have if enemy eyes watched her, but softly as they would under a friendly gaze. Not wanting to be distracted from Lightkit incase she should spring at her again, Northkit allowed herself to glimpse the newcomer out of the corner of her eye, it was a warrioir she had only seen a few times but never spoken to, Splashheart.

[Nightfur and Co.]

" Oh, really?" Lightkt laughed. Then she saw Splashheart, and she smiled. " C'mon, Northkit!" She cried, rubbing against her cheek. " Come meet one of my friends!" She bounded away to Splashheart, still smiling. She licked teh warrior between the ears in greeting, whispering excitedly, " I made a new friend!"

[Northland]

Northkit followed closely behind Lightkit. "Hi..." she mewed. All the while the silver tabby couldn't help thinking, just how long has she been watching us anyway? "Lightkit, um, never mind." said Northkit shakily.

[Ferny]

Splashheart smiled "Hi Lightkit" she diped her head to Northkit "Hello Northkit, Having fun?"

[Northland]

"Yep!" she smiled, her shyness towards the other cat disolving away. "Lightkit is really, really, fun to play with! And she can playfight really well," Northkit looked at Lightkit and smiled,"When she wants too!"

[Ferny]

"hehe yes I know" Splashheart smiled "she can defend herself well" Splashheart flicked Lightkit with the tip of her tail in a friendly way

[Northland]

Northkit just sat and took in the scent and appearence of the other cat. If she was friends with Lightkit then Splashheart must be a nice cat. Northkit was usualy pretty edgy around older cats she didn't know very well, but she forced herself not to shy away from Splashheart.

[Ferny]

Splashheart looked up "I wish I could have gone to the gathering" she sadi then she looked at lightkit and Northkit "well at least I am not alone " she said smiling at the Kits

[Nightfur and Co.]

" Thank you for the compliments." Lightkit blushes a bit, then smiled. " Maybe next Gathering we'll all get to go." She meowed, laying down next to her warrior friend. " By next moon, I'll be an apprentice, sicne I'm old enough now. And Northkit will be too, won't you?" The tabby kit looked at Northkit. " We need nicknames." She murmured, half to herself. Then, louder, " Can I call you Northernlights, as a kind of nickname, Northkit?"

[Ferny]

"hehe" Splashheart laied down "I hope I can be one of your mentors" she said lookng at the both of them

[Nightfur and Co.]

Lightkit shook her head. " Not me. I'm hoping to be Lilyfeather's, if she'll take me." She added quickly.

[Northland]

"I like that name, but aren't nicknames supposed to be, well, short? Anyway, I'm not so sure I would really like to go to a gathering, too many cats that I wouldn't know....." That was partly true anyway, the real reason she didn't want to go was she was afraid of what she might find out, or what other cats might find out about her.

[Nightfur and Co.]

" You can't make excuses forever, Northkit." Lightkit grinned. " Nicknames don't have to be short; one I had for Snowpelt was Snowpuss. Northernlights is something that won't cats won't figure as a nickname since it is so long."

[Northland]

"O.K. that makes sense I think, how 'bout I call you Lightbreeze.... If you like it" Northkit yawned slightly, for some reason sitting still seemed too make her more tired than playfighting.

[Nightfur and Co.]

" Good with me." Lightkit snuggled against Splashheart's warm body. Her mind drifted to a time, not too long ago, that she ahd snuggled against her at the river....when Elkpaw had made her mad, made tears stream down her face....Lightkit shook to clear her mind. That was such a short time ago, but all is the same in the shifting sands of time.

[Northland]

Northkit saw her friend drifting into day dreams and yawned again. This is so strange, she thought as she curled up beside her friend. I never sleep near other cats... Oh well, when in the river follow the current. Northkit didn't sleep however, she had lived in the lands of forever snow too long too undo the old habits she had learned. Because then they had mattered for survival.

Splashheart smiled she liked these kits she laid her head on her paws and did not move

Lightkit stirred. Turning her head to look at Northkit, she asked, " Northkit? Are you awake? I need you to promise me something."

[Northland]

"I'm awake, what is it?" she asked. Sleep had been alouding her, there was too much too think about just now. It was too crouded too sleep anyway.

[Nightfur and Co.]

" Whatever happens, we'll always be friends." Lightkit whispers. " Promise me that, even when we grow up, that nothing will come between us."

[Ferny]

Splashheart smiled to herself it looked like she was asleep but she was not
