Chapter 7:The recovery and the secret


The clouds loomed over the cats,casting their shadows on the blood stained ground.Darkeye padded over to sit with silverpelt.He looked at her and smiled,"Well,how did you like your first gathering?"He asked.She looked at him with curious eyes,"Does this usually happen?"Miststar came up to them,"No Darkeye,the fourtrees is a place for peace and starclan is angry.I have just found out whitestar never recieved his nine lives."Silverpelt gasped,"Are you serious?"He demanded.Miststar nodded her head,"It's time that we got back to our camp and start recovery there"At that she raced up the hill toward mysticlan.All the cats from their clan followed.As they began racing once again through the forest,some cats began to complain of pain and a nagging smell of twolegs.Miststar sniffed the air and sure enough she could smell twolegs not to far from there.All the cats seemed glued to the ground and waited.An ugly twoleg came out from behind a tree,"BOO!"He yelled as he started to chase the cats.Luckily they all got to camp before he could get them.When they stopped they all were panting hard and blood showed on all their bodies from the gathering.A tawny colored she-cat padded out of the medicine cat den.Miststar greeted her,"Roseflower there was a battle at fourtrees,take the cats that need the most help into your den.I will atend to the rest"The wise medicine cat nodded and hurried off to gather the cats.Darkeye lay on her side,she had a deep gash that was bleeding and getting bigger with every painful breath.Silverpelt sat beside her,licking her affectionatly on the ear.Roseflower came up,"Oh-my!"She said as she grabbed darkeye by the scruff and began to drag her to the medicine cat den.Silverpelt followed,as roseflower looked at him sternly,"You don't need to be in here,you look fine"She said as she looked over him quickly,"I will not leave darkeye's side"He spat as he padded into the den.Roseflower shrugged and dropped darkeye.She went over and began fetching herbs and berries in order to heal darkeye.



Darkeye awoke to silverpelt's smiling face and the feeling of longing for him covered her."Hello,I take it you're feeling much better"He was right,the pain on her side was gone and she could breath normally now."You have a visitor"He said as he stepped out of the way.Spotkit smiled,"Hello darkeye,I wanted to make sure you were ok"She said in a small voice that was slightly quivering with nervousness.Darkeye smiled back and sat up,"Well thank-you spotkit,yes I am alright"The apprentice sighed with relief,"Good"She replied.Silverpelt looked at darkeye,"I will let you two talk for a while"And with that he padded out of the den.Darkeye turned her attention back to her apprentice."Darkeye,I think it's fair that if you are going to be my mentor,you shood know my secret"Spotkit said,trying to act confident.Darkeye tipped her head slightly,"What secret?"Spotkit looked at her,"Now you can't tell anyone,only goldentail and miststar know..."She paused as darkeye promised,"I am from Darkclan."Darkeye looked at her with open eyes,"W-wh,but you..."Spotkit continued,"I was born in darkclan,my father was their old leader.He was very sick at the time and my mother didn't want me.She brought me to the edge of darkclan and the boarder to mysticlan."Darkeye listened,her ears flicked forward."Miststar found me and welcome me into her clan with open paws.She said it was fate that my mother brought me there,and that I really do belong in mysticlan"She finished and looked at darkeye,waiting for a response.Darkeye smiled at her,"Well I belive you belong in mysticlan too."Spotkit nuzzled her and smiled,"I think i'm going to like you darkeye,I think i'm going to like you alot"

chapter 8:Revenge of the clans


Darkeye woke with a nagging feeling of battle inside.She looked around the warrior's den,the rest of the warriors were sleeping soundly on their moss beds.Silverpelt sat up and looked at her with a concerned look,"Is something wrong darkeye"She stared at him for a long minute"I don't know,I just feel-I feel like theres going to be a huge battle by the end of today"His eyes widened but he stayed calm,the tip of his tail twitching nervously.Another cat slipped into the warriors den,it was miststar.She padded in and sat beside the two warriors,"I wanted to make sure you all were ok"She said,"You all did wonderfully in the battle"She complamented,her eyes gleaming with pride.Darkeye and silverpelt nodded and thanked their leader and she slipped out into the clearing.Darkeye turned to silverpelt,"I'm going to show spotpaw the boarders"She said as she stood.He nuzzled her and nodded.She slipped out and tasted the air,the scent of leaf-fall lingered in it.She padded over to the apprentice den and yelled for spotpaw inside.Her apprentice came out and stretched,"Are we going to do some training today?"She asked anxiously.Darkeye nodded and started toward the entrance of the camp,spotpaw followed.



Soon they were exploring the last boarder,darkeye unsheathed her claws as they passed through the boarder of darkclan.Spotpaw crinkled her nose and darkeye laughed.Spotpaw began to laugh too,but stopped dead as she stared behind darkeye,her eyes were wide with fear.Darkeye turned to spotpaw,"What's wrong,what do you...."She turned and saw the thing spotpaw was scared to death of,standing there with narrowed eyes was the cat darkeye had been dreading,her mother.The she-cat padded forward,her mouth in a snarl and her claws un-sheathed."It's so....nice to see you darkeye"She spat.Darkeye sttod infront of spotpaw,and whispered,"Spotpaw,this is your first mission,go back to camp and get all the cats you can and run back here"Spotpaw looked uncertain with leaving her mentor alone,but nodded and ran off.Darkeye turned back to her mother,"Get out of this teritory now!"She spat.The rogue cat stepped forward one more step."Who's going to make me,surley not a whimp like you"She smiled evily,"Today is the day of your death!"Darkeye raised her hackless and tried to stay calm,she turned as she saw all her fellow warriors racing down to where the two cats sat.Darkeye smiled,"We will all make you"Darkeye lunged forward and pinned her mother to the ground.She slashed at her exposed belly as her mother tried to brake free.The other mysticlan cats stood next to them waiting.Darkeye looked in her mother's eyes,"you killed white,and now I will kill you!"She bit down hard on her mother's neck and stood up as she watched her mother squirm with her last breaths.Darkeye padded back and was greeted by silverpelt's nuzzling.She touched noses with spotpaw and stared hard at her mother's lifeless body,she had avenged her brothers death and all she wanted to do was curl up next to silverpelt and sleep for half a moon.Silverpelt looked at her and smiled,"You did it darkeye,now lets go home"

Chapter 9:Riverkit and Blackit


Darkeye padded along side silverpelt,leaning agains't him as she let her mind run wild at the thought of her mother's death.He turned to her,nothing but pure love in his soft blue eyes,"Darkeye,I want to have kits with you"Darkeye gasped,"You do?"He nodded,a hint of embarrassment shown on his silver face.As they walked back to camp darkeye heard a soft rustling in the tree's behind her,it almost sounded like the tree's were whispering.She told silverpelt to go on ahead and she sat down,her ears pricked as she listened intently at the lush forest around her.A glitering tom came out from a bush and looked at darkeye,she thought he looked strangley familar,she searched her mind to find the answer when it finally hit her,"White?!"She demanded.A smile apeared on his white sparkling face,"Yes my dear sister,it's me"She looked confused,"But we were rogues,how are you in starclan?"He gave a small laugh that made his ghostly pelt ripple."Father told me of the warrior code,for he was part of a clan before he became a rogue,I was going to tell you,but when dad disappeared"Darkeye looked at her paws,remembering her father."I did not come here to make you sad"White said gently to darkeye,"Soon your kits will be born,their names will be great in this forest of ours because of their kindness and genourosity to cats of all clans.Beware of the dark shadow that will soon cover the forest you have always known,but you dark,along with the others in mysticlan will bring the light back"At the end of the chilling profecy white's figure became to dissapear into the trees.Darkeye felt rooted to the soft ground,she shook her head to clear it and with out looking back,she padded quickly to camp.




****A few moons later****
Darkeye lay in the nursery,her flank rising and falling.Silverpelt was at her side,licking her ear affectionatly.Roseflower sat by her,a soft smile on her ginger face.Darkeye winced as the first kit was born,silverpelt licked in as soon as it arrived,it was a bluesh-gray kit with ice blue eyes,"It's name shall be riverkit"Silverpelt said proudly,his eyes gleaming with compassion.The next kit was born not much longer,it's black pelt made him look just like darkeye,"And this little one is blackit"Silverpelt said as he nudged the kits toward their mother to suckle.Darkeye lay,staring at the kits,her eyes misted with soft tears as she stared into the little kit's faces,she looked up with silverpelt and smiled,she knew atleats one part of white's profecey was true,her kits were destined for greatness.
