[glow=red,2,300]Dragonstar emerged from his den into the faint sunlight of the dappled shade, it was a chilly day and there were not many cats in the clearing. Better get on with it and get them out of their dens He thought. Swiftly he leaped onto the HighRock his muscles contracting smoothly. He yowled to the clearing, "All cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the HighRock for a Clan Meeting!" Then he sat down and waited for his clan to appear.[/glow]

Splashheart Alone like a single splash in the rain
Ah peace, and quiet, was that all this camp was good for? Pale yellow eyes gazed at the roof of the warriors den as the sounds of the world around them slowly carried on. The single chirp of a cricket, or the song of a bird, either way it broke the never ending silence of the world. The never ending silence of pain and loneliness. But then again every day was the same old same, get up, eat, hunt, and then sit by the river, tail dragging in the slow current. It was like a continuous unbreakable cycle. Maybe, just maybe Splashhearts great wish would be granted and she could finally become a mentor. Fernleaf has had what? Two or three apprentices now? I'm her sister! Am I not good enough?
Thin razor sharp claws sliced through the air of the warriors den as the blue gray faintly striped she-cat stretched. Pearly white teeth glinted in the pale light as she yawned, then pushed herself up. She flicked her ears back as she shook the bedding from her pelt. Giving her shoulder a few quick licks she padded out into the dappled clearing. Movement caught her eye as she exited the shelter, it was Dragonstar. A faint smile crossed her face, she hadn't seen the leader in several days, but it was a great site. He simply moved to the rock and swiftly jumped up onto the highrock. She swished her tail back and forth as he called the ceremonial words. She padded forward, seating herself just below the highrock. She tilted her face towards Dragonstar and dipped her head in respect, then she shifted slightly and settled down, waiting for the rest of the clan.[/size][/color]

The tabby and white queen padded toward the HighRock, then sighed, exasperated. Where were Stonepaw and Ripplepaw? Icefire bounded to the Apprentices Den, glancing inside, and called her kits' names. “Ripplepaw, Stonepaw, come out!”
She waited for the two young apprentices, then licked Stonepaw between the ears and flicked Ripplepaw's ears with the tip of her tail. “Come on,” she mewed impatiently, padding back and sitting beneath the HighRock. “Dragonstar's called a Clan meeting.”
The leopard-spotted tom padded out of the den, blinking sleep from his amber eyes. “All right, all right, I'm coming,” the sandy-colored apprentice muttered, lashing his coppery tail.
Stonepaw twisted around to smooth his pelt—bits of moss clung to it, and it stuck out in all directions from sleeping in his nest. He yawned, sitting by Icefire, and flicked his ears at his mother.
Ripplepaw followed Stonepaw out of the den, whiskers twitching with amusement. When he sat down, she sat next to him and washed his pelt until it lay flat and smooth.
“I don't know how you get your fur like that,” the little gray apprentice mewed teasingly. “You were only sleeping in your nest, not out exploring rabbit holes!” She nudged her brother fondly with her muzzle, then crouched beside him, staring up at Dragonstar.[/center][/color][/size]

She lay in the Nursery, staring up at the ceiling with boredom. The white she-cat lay on her back, silver tabby stripes glistening from the pale sunlight that filtered through the den entrance. Ice blue eyes stared at the roof of the Nursery, a yawn erupting from her jaws. What was there to do, anyway? She was a thirteen-moon-old kit, after all, and the only thing to do anymore was stare at the ceiling of the Nursery. There were no other Nursery kits around, and it was "illegal" for her to leave camp. She had no training, so she couldn't really leave anyway unless she had a deathwish. Silentkit knew she couldn't fight, and knew she could barely hunt. That was why she wanted to leave RiverClan. Everyone considered a thirteen-moon-old kit a burden, right?
She let out a silent sigh, the sound of Dragonstar's call echoing in her ears. Oh joy, a Clan meeting. Since she was, after all, old enough to catch her own prey, Silentkit rolled over and got to her silver paws. A few cats had already gathered, and were sitting below HighRock as they waited for the meeting to start. Silentkit's eyes narrowed from the sudden burst of sunlight as she exited the nursery. She licked her silky fur a few times, smoothing a few ruffled patches before moving toward the crowd. Feeling suddenly distanced and alone, Silentkit sat near the back, prepared to watch the whole meeting from a distance. [/color] [/blockquote]

Heads low together, oddly bickering, Goldburn and Thymeheart passed through the reeds into camp. They'd been arguing a lot latley. Goldburn blamed it on the encounter with the former RiverClan sisters, but Thymeheart blamed it on Goldburn's stubborn pride. Their whispers were low, unheard by their Clanmates. At the back of Thymeheart's mind, she heard Dragonstar's call. In habit, she moved to her normal place. Goldburn followed, not in answer to his leader but to continue the argument.
"Shh," Thymeheart snapped, her white tipped tail twitching. "We're in a meeting, in case you haven't noticed."
Goldburn stopped talking abruptly and glared up at Dragonstar if he was at fault for interupting the quarrel. Then he sat down and stared at his paws. [/size]

JANUARYPAW AND PALEFOOT Januarypaw had been resting in the Apprentice's Den and Palefoot in the Warriors' when they heard the clan leader's customary call. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the HighRock for a Clan Meeting!" Dragonstar's voice rang like bells throughout the camp. The cool wind of leaffall was twirling and twisting around the camp, bringing the sharp hit of leaffall with it.
Januarypaw twitched his whiskers and walked closer to the group of cats congregated in the clearing. He saw Palefoot mingling with the other cats and made his way over to her. Palefoot saw Januarypaw at the same time and bounded over to him, almost collided with him.
"Palefoot, how are you?" Januarypaw mewed. "I'm very well thanks, Januarypaw! How are you?" Palefoot replied energetically, her whiskers twitching in amusement. She felt like she was overflowing with energy at the moment. A flicker of annoyance shot through Januarypaw. Whatever did she find amusing? "I'm alright." he remarked, looking at Palefoot's eyes. Palefoot looked down at her paws and then back up at Januarypaw. Realising how messy he looked for a clan meeting, she walked over to him and licked his back. Backing away, she looked him over. "There we go, Januarypaw. Much better! You were looking a little scruffy there," Palefoot meowed, humor intertwined into her voice. Januarypaw rolled his eyes, but he knew that Palefoot was just being her normal fun-loving self. He chose to ignore her comment about his fur. "Do you know what this meeting is about?" he asked. Palefoot nodded. "I think it is an apprentice ceremony," She sarcastically thought about how much Januarypaw would love to have some new apprentices in the den. Januarypaw didn't really like being surrounded by cats, so she knew that this wouldn't thrill him. "Well, that's good for the kits. I wonder who they are?" Januarypaw asked, looking over his shoulder. Palefoot thought for a moment. "I'm not sure,"
The two cats walked closer over to the small group of cats. A few more cats padded out of their dens and looked up expectantly at Dragonstar. Both Januarypaw and Palefoot thought about how they first became apprentices and how excited and nervous they were. Whoever the kits were who were being made into an apprentices would be so excited -- and the clan would share that joy.

G o i n g U p I n F l a m e s
Firepaw watched from the apprentice as cat began to gather under Highrocks. Firepaw wanted to gather; to figure out what was the reason behind the gathering. Yet Firepaw didn't know where to sit. All the other cats had there dearest friends to sit by, yet like always Firepaw was alone. Firepaw let out a jealous hiss; frustration filling his muscular body. Firepaw searched the beautiful, silver pelt of Featherpaw. Firepaw hadn't spoken to her in almost two full moons. Firepaw had been so worried about inpressing the higher ups that he had forgotten to pay attention to her.
Guilt filled Firepaw at the thought of his dear friend. He wondered what the beautiful she-cat did while he was out proving himself. How lonely she must had been. Firepaw let out a soft sigh and walked closer to the group of cats. He noticed Streampelt and Nightcloud joining the group. The two hated one another with a passion yet they always seemed to get into situations where they had to work together somehow or someway.
Firepaw was soon noticed by Streampelt who ran over to him in a flash. "Firepaw! Wow have you grown!! You look so much like Bloodclaw!" Firepaw grunted embarrassedly. Streampelt was his cousin and always knew how to embarrasses him. "What ever- lets just sit down" he snapped. Streampelt laughed, Streampelt could read Firepaw like a book and always knew exactly how he felt. This always frustrated Firepaw "Why are you laughing!!" Two two kin sat down near the back of the mob of cats. Listening , waiting for what would happen next.
"You know; one of my best friends Northpaw- she was Dragonstar's apprentice" Firepaw glanced up at his cousin who was drifting off into memories. "I use to be so shy back then, and she was always so bubbly. We had so many adventures together, so so many" Firepaw pressed his flank on his cousin', then suddenly realized he was bigger then her! When did he get this big!! Amazement fluttered through the apprentice's belly. He knew Streameplt had always been small compared to other warriors- but he always though of Streampelt as more of an aunt then a cousin. Firepaw fluffed his chest out proudly and liften his head high. His ego out of control.

:. You'll find me there.:
Of course, with no doubt, as soon as Cougarwhisper peeked his head out of the warrior den to heed Dragonstar's call, as soon as he saw the slender she-cat with the pelt like the river reflecting the sky...He rose swiftly onto his paws and trotted quickly across the gap between them, his long strides almost twice of that of a regular sized cat. But of course, Cougarwhisper was not regular size, and in a few second he was paused beside Splashheart, amber orbs lingering over her pale yellow eyes that seemed to be the colour of the flesh of a lemon. His breathe clouded the air as he fixed his gaze on his over-sized paws, thinking of what he could do, or say without embarrassing himself in front of his crush. Dragonstar's words entered his ears, but them seemed dim and foreign in his current state of mind.
Cougarwhisper was a large cat, not in the sense that you might be thinking, if you were thinking of someone large with the bulk of muscle or large with a layer of fat. He was literally large, tall, and features not dissimilar to that of a normal cat, just magnified. You might expect someone like him to be more confident about himself, knowing that with his strength it would be difficult for anyone to resist his wills. But despite that, he was nervous, ears flattened against his skull, round eyes staring balefully at the dirt as he struggled to get words into his mouth.
Finally, he managed to let out a wheeze, glancing over at Splashheart put not directly addressing the she-cat as his boyish, low voice squeezed through his pursed lips; " Hey, think your gonna get an apprentice? It might be nice to get one I guess..." Cougarwhisper stared down at his paws wistfully as he waited for the she-cat's reply.
Meanwhile, across the clearing, Icepaw was padding delicatly toward the center of the clearing, ears twitching nervously above her head, re adjusting themself each time another sound broke into her focus. Her mis-matched eyes, one clear blue the other sunshine yellow, looked as though someone had pulled two buttons out of a jar of quality made items, and sown them into place on the soft planes of her face. She caught sight of her brother, Firepaw next to Streampelt, their cousin. It was a surprise to see how much Firepaw had grown, the dark burgundy tom was now towering over the stream-coloured she-cat. Despite the butterflies fluttering around inside her and disturbing her stomach, Icepaw let out a jittery laugh, and ran forward to greet her kin.
" Hey Firepaw, Streampelt!" She mewed in her high chime voice. " I wonder if Dragonstar is going to make us warriors? It would be so nice to be in the warrior den..." She had been directing her speech towards Firepaw as she said this, Streampelt was a warrior already. She grinned sheepishly at the two of them before settling herself down, long snowy fur draping nicely around her toned figure, whiskers twitching anxiously. Would she become a warrior today? She was about the right age...or would she simply be granted a new mentor?
Icepaw shook her head worriedly, thoughts of Riverpaw drifting into her mind, of his tabby pelt and creamy handkerchief marking around his neck...With a sigh suddenly filled with dream soot, she let her eyelids veil her bright orbs.

[glow=red,2,300]Dragonstar looked around at his clan, seated in groups around the HighRock, their multicoloured pelts creating a sea of colours below him like a patchwork quilt. His eyes focused on a few cats in the mix, his son Doodlepelt who gazed back at him with eyes so like his own, Firepaw, Icepaw, Earthpaw and Silentkit. Silentkit he thought, I will right the wrong I have done you. Should I startHe asked himself, most of his clan was seated below and any latecomers could hear what he said from others in the clan. He stood up, his pelt flashing as a shaft of light crept over it. He waited for his clan to stop their chattering and then began to speak. "Firepaw!" He called to the apprentice his voice carrying on the slight breeze. Then he began, "I, the leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him a warrior in his turn. Firepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?" He asked the apprentice, his eyes pools of molten amber as they held the apprentice in their stare.[/glow]

[sorry this is really gonna suck]
Featherpaw followed the other cats, well, other stragglers, as they sat down, even though the ceremony had already begun. She let out a soft sigh, and a twitter disrupted her beats per minute when she saw Firepaw. Her body immediatly began to warm up with the love she felt for him. She gingerly sat down and curled her beautiful tail across her paws. [gahhh writing report, sorry this is so bad haha]

Losskit sat in front of the nursery entrence and waited for Firepaw to answer. She curled her thick tail around her paws and looked around. Being the youngest in the Clan wasn't good for the poor lonely kit. Having lost her parents Losskit ignored most of the cats and mostly kept to herself. She didn't want to lose someone else she got close to.

Icepaw quietly watched his rival and his clan leader, Icepaw's cold lightblue eyes twicthing between them. He tried to keep still a mix of pride for Riverclan getting a new warrior, and disdain it was Firepaw.

Tinykit sat down next to Losskit in the entrance to the nursery. Her tiny black body barley took up any room. " Who's getting named?" she asked in a hushed voice. No one ever told Tinypaw anything. She always seemed to be on the edge of the clan.

The Clan honors you for your courage and kindness, and we welcome you as a full warrior of RiverClan." He smiled down at the young tom, who was looking as if he would burst from pride. Dragonstar remembered when he had been made a warrior, he imagined that he would've looked much the same as Firelyric did now, the pride when he had heard Stormstar pronounce his warrior name Dragonheart had threatened to overwhelm him. He blinked and jolted out of his memories as he waited for the name to greet the new warrior. [/glow]

" Firelyric! Firelyric!"
Icepaw chanted her brothers name, face beaming happily as she glanced over at the dark red warrior. Soon, it would be her new name being chanted, she couldn't wait. Icepaw let her breath rush out, a swirl of fog that rolled through the air. Her snow white pelt was quivering, each silky tip shaking with excitement. " Congratulations Firelyric! You got a wonderful name!" Icepaw mewed softly, her melodic voice rising and falling unevenly. With on more grin at her brother, she moved forward through the crowd, pushing closer towards the base of the clearing.

[glow=red,2,300]Dragonstar smiled as he joined the celebratory calling of the new warrior's name, "Firelyric! Firelyric!" He waited for the chanting to stop and then called to the next apprentice. "Icepaw!" His eyes searched her out in the crowd, she seemed to be already moving forward closer to the base of the hoighrock than she had been before. "I, the leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her a warrior in her turn. Icepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?" Each time he announced the traditional words he hoped that the cost would not be paid. That it would continue to be a time of peace. That these young warriors would not have to give up thier lives for their clan. A flash of anxiety appeared in his eyes, but was gone too soon to be seen by even the most observant of his clan. It won't happen. He told himself, It won't.[/glow]

{ JORDAN IS LOOKING FOR A PICTURE } { PLEASE DON'T STAB HER ...THAT WOULD BE MEAN } Firepawlyric felt his heart swell with pride. This was the day he had been waiting for all his life. The day he would be a warrior, a warrior of Riverclan. Firelyric's amber eyes shown with pride as she touched his nose to Dragonstar's shoulder. The leader was warm, hot compared to the frost weather of Leafbare. Firelyric felt the warmth the came from his leader leak into his very being, filing him with butterflies...on fire. Firelyric could feel his ansesters around him. He could hear there cheering. Blackthorn, Dreamcatcher, Icefur, Moonstar- all of them were cheering. Cheering for him.
Firelyric glanced down at his clan mates from highrock, all there eyes were on him. Cheering his name. Firelyric loved his name; but one day he wouldn't have the name Firelyrie- no- he would be FireSTAR. Firelyric purred at the thought and glanced back at Dragonstar, though he couldn't speak you could tell how tankful he was by the look in his eyes.
February leaped down highrocks majestically, trying his best to look powerful and graceful. "All I need now is an apprentice and soon enough I will be deputy!" The fiery tom though as he took his place back at Featherpaw's side. Licking her ear lovingly. Now that they were, or they would be, warriors they could truly be mates. Of cores Firelyric would want untill both of the trained an apprentice. That a way he could choose Featherpaw to be his deputy!
Next up was Icepaw. Her beautiful white pelt shone softly in the rays of moon light the drifted down from above. The thought of Icepaw becoming a warrior made Firelyric realize that Waterpaw should also be a warrior. The thought of the graceful grayish-blue she-cat made Firelyric smile. HE knew that somewhere, Blackthorn was watching over them. Firelyric could almost see the pride shinning in the she-cats near purple eyes.

I, the leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her a warrior in her turn. Icepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
Icepaw took a few steps forward from her place that was already close to Dragonstar. She could feel a rush through her body as she took the weight of Dragonstar's words. She didn't believe in Starclan...could she really accept this weight on her shoulders? Thinking each day that one slip could send her spiraling into a world or nothingness and her soul simply perishing away? No, no Starclan exsists... she could feel the lie in her own thoughts, but quickly pushed it away and turned back to Dragonstar. Her saphire eyes shone with excitement as she slowly let her chime-like voice flow from her lips. " I do." But even as she said it, she could feel doubt in her mind, and the thought of Riverpaw, just over the border.

Shiverclaw walked out of her den and padded over to the Highrock. The leader was giving apprentices mentors, and naming old apprentices warriors. She hoped with all of her heart that she'd get an apprentice this time. After all, she'd been waiting for one ever since she'd become a warrior.

A pair of eyes locked onto Featherpaw's and she felt her heartbeart fall dead and pick up to be blood too fast into her body, and she felt herself warming up in the cold weather. She was nervous, so she slowly made her way up to her leader, the anticipation, fear, and fright evident in her eyes and stiff composure. A calm washed over her when she turned to look back at Fire[uhh?] and her rapid heartbeat continued to rise steadily for a different reason. She felt as if she could melt in his eyes and stay there forever, like a stagnant pond, only less messy. Her gaze flicked back over to her leader. She took in a deep jagged breath and locked onto his eyes, waiting for him to begin.
