The Garden of Shards

A pure black cat with weird light amber eyes sat in the middle of a beautiful garden.The roses were already blooming, the tulips were turning there yellow color.All was happy and merry besides the black cat.The black cat's fur had been groomed by her Housefolk not to long ago, making her look beautiful like the flowers that bloomed around her,Not to long ago all her kit were taken away to be sold at her housefolk's kennel and the black cat missed them dearly.The Black cat closed her weird looking eyes and took a deep breath in, her long tail wraped around her front paws and her soft ears twitched as if dismissing the though of her children.

A tortoiseshell she-cat walked slowly around a garden. In her jaws were two mice and a vole. Her paws worked silently as she walked through the roses. Suddenly the scent of cat wafted into her nostrils.

"Hello?" She mewed through the mouthful of prey.

The black cat opened her eyes but diddn't turn around."Good Morning" she said.Her voice was very beautiful.The black cat slowly stood up to stiff one of the roses.

The tortoiseshell took a step forward, her pale blue eye and gray eye scanning the area.
"My name is Sakura" She mewed "Who are you?"

The black cat still didn't turn around,"My name is Midnight" she said in her angelic voice.Midnight slowly turn around to face Sakura,"Nice to met you Sakura"

Sakura nodded. She dropped the prey.

"Are you hungry?" Sakura asked. Her voice was slightly troubled.

((Yea, Shard became a kittypet not to long ago))

Midnight seemed to catch the sadness in Sakura's voice because for a split second an emotion of schock filled Midnight's eyes.But soo it dissaperd.Midnight focused her attention on Sakura,"You are troubled" Midnight said softly.

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

Sakura nodded. She wasn't sure she wanted to talk about it though.
"Why did you look so shocked?" Sakura mewed. She had seen the shock pass through Midnight's eyes.

((Ohh. How?))

((She wanted her children to have a good life, but only Tails became a kittypet with her))

Midnight smiled and laughed,"I will tell you if you tell me why you are sad"Midnight said as her eyes flashed a small amont of happiness.

Sakura smiled. She wasn't sure how to explain it exactly.

"Well" She mewed "I... I kind of like two toms. A loner... and a clanner. And I dont know who I like more" She looked at Midnight.

"Now, tell me about your shock" Sakura mewed.

Midnight smiled,"I was shocked at the ton of your voice, it was sad and soundd like an old friend of mine that died by a dog" Meowed Midnight."So..What are the name of you boyfriends, I might know one of htem"

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

"They aren't my boyfriends!" Sakura mewed. She felt herself blushing.

"Their names are Niche and Ashfur" SHe mewed.

"I never meet AShfur, but I do know Niche.He is my friend's kit, I Deliverd my kits the same time she deliverd hers so Niche is the same age of my beautiful kin" Whisperd Midnight,"Sakura, how old are you?Niche is only a few moons old you know"

"About 15 moons old. I met Niche when I met Bone. Do you know Bone?" Sakura mewed. She nodded.

"Yeah, he is younger then me I believe." She mewed.

Midnight let out an amused purr,"He is not even 6 moons old yet- and no I don't know bone If you discribe what her sent is like I might be able to remember"

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

"Well, she is a loner. Her mother I believe is a she-cat called Sorrow... Sorrow... Sorrowheart! Yeah, Sorrowheart." Sakura mewed "I didn't recognize her scent. I never try to."

Sakura looked at her.

"If you don't mind my asking, how do you know all of them?" She mewed.

"Oh yes- When I was a apprintice...I remember Bone...How old is she now?" aksed Midnight, completly ignoring the other question.

"Umm... I don't really know. She isn't a kit anymore though." Sakura mewed. She realized the Midnight was avoiding her question. Sakura didn't want to pressure her, so she stayed silent.

"Lets se- she sould be around 12-16 moons by now.Oh how time past" Midnight said sadly.She smiled and slowly walked over to a bowl filled with water.The bowl had the anem Midnight in shimmering letters, Midnight laped up the water then lifted her head again,"Sakura, Are you a loner?" asked Midnight.

"Yes" Sakura mewed "But I wasn't always. I arrived at this forest a few moons ago" She stared at Midnight questioningly.

"Why?" She mewed.

"I was once a loner- I thought it was the best life I ever had, but now I know I was confused.Being a loner, being caught up with Skull, betryaing to live...It wasn't for me" she whisperd

Sakura shuddered at the name Skull. She had met him once, with Niche, and preferred not to meet him again. She was better off alone.
"Why dont you just stay away from Skull? I do" Sakura mewed.

Midnight laughed,"It wasn't that skull was bad- he was like a father to me sence my own father lived in Riverclan.He taught me independence and that by itself amde me love him more.I miss him every now and then" Midnight explained happly.

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

Sakura laughed. She still was a little skittish around Skull though. She wasn't sure why.

"So, what was it, that made you give it up?" Sakura mewed.

"I wanted my kits to be safe, so I took the only kit who still loved me.That was tails, and we ran away from my loner life, the nwe were adopted into the Hunter family, and they became our housefolk, We didn't get in free though, I have to go to the clippers so my housefolk won't be alone when he is helping cats and dogs in need"

"Oh" Sakura mewed "That is a good reason to leave" Sakura laid down. The mice sat at her paws.

"Want one?" She mewed.

Midnight dearly missed the taste of mouse, so she grabed a mouse and crunched down on it,"Thank You, so what made you be a loner?" asked Midnight

"I didn't start as a loner, not even start in this forest," Sakura mewed "I was born a showcat, in Japan. I was coming to a show here a few moons ago and ran away. I didn't like to be pampered and worried about, just because I'm half blind and half deaf." Sakura really did hate it when others worried about her and didn't think she could do anything.

Midnight laughed,"So you are blind to? I am blind in both eyes, there was a fight in the nursery when I was a kit and somehow a blow to the head made my eyes no able to work anymore"

[glow=white,2,300]Skull wasn't far away, listening to the she-cats as they laughed and chatted together. He missed Shard so much....she had been the one who actually got his group noticed again. He took a sharp intake of breath and felt something stab at his heart. Wait, no....he didn't have a heart, not yet....he had feelings, emotions, yes...but a heart? Shriveled and black? No....his heart had fled along with the many cats he had killed, with his cold blooded emotions, pushing the world away for himself.....Shard had helped him open up, like a flower in the first dripping sound of snow melting, giving way to spring.

Skull sat quietly on the log that he sank his sharp black claws into, feeling it splinter under the pressure. He wanted to speak to Shard, oh, how he relished it! He would kill to hear her melodic voice talking to him....Sakura wouldn't stand in his way....he was going to talk to Shard.

He stepped of the log and pushed himself through the braken that lined the two leg fence, then with a spring, he landed on top of the fence, wrapping his sinister bone tail around him. " Hello Shard" he meowed quietly" How have you been living....so far?" A small hint of doubt flecked his voice as his ice blue eyes gazed down like something was burrowing into his toe.[/glow]
